Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
Anthropic's Infrastructure organization is foundational to our mission of developing AI systems that are reliable, interpretable, and steerable. The systems we build determine how quickly we can train new models, how reliably we can run safety experiments, and how effectively we can scale Claude to millions of users — demonstrating that safe, reliable infrastructure and frontier capabilities can go hand in hand.
Developer Productivity owns the end-to-end experience of how engineers and researchers at Anthropic develop, build, test, and ship code at scale — from the source control and language ecosystems that underpin our monorepo, to the build and CI infrastructure that keeps thousands of daily builds running reliably across multiple cloud providers, to the developer acceleration tooling that deeply integrates Claude into engineering workflows.
Team Matching: Team matching is determined after the interview process based on interview performance, interests, and business priorities. Please note we may also consider you for different Infrastructure teams.
Deadline to apply: None. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.
Your safety matters to us. To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit anthropic.com/careers directly for confirmed position openings.
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues. Every line of code that ships at Mercury passes through a gauntlet of builds, tests, and gates before it reaches our customers. On the surface, that process should feel seamless — frictionless for engineers, undetectable to users, and impossibly reliable. Behind that invisibility is Release Engineering.
Mercury moves fast. We ship frequently, our monorepo grows daily, and the pressure to do it right never lets up. Release Engineering is the team that makes this possible: owning the CI/CD platform, build infrastructure, deployment tooling, and the practices that let 400+ engineers deliver with confidence.
We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead this team. You'll partner with the Backend Developer Experience team to deliver the full software delivery lifecycle from code commit to production, and build the engineering culture that keeps our release process a competitive advantage rather than a bottleneck.
In this role you will:
You should have:
What Success Looks Like:
In your first 90 days, you've developed deep context on Mercury's release infrastructure, built trust with your team, and identified the highest-leverage opportunities to improve pipeline performance and developer experience.
Within six months, you've shipped meaningful improvements to build reliability, deployment speed, or observability — and your team has a clear roadmap for the next year.
Over time, you've made Mercury's release process a model for how fintech companies can move fast without breaking things.
Our salary and equity ranges are highly competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry. New hire offers are made based on a job candidate’s experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.
Our target new hire base salary ranges for this role are the following:

You’ll go beyond surface-level fixes, digging into everything from service behavior in Kubernetes to application-level decisions that impact performance, cost, and reliability. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering teams to improve how our systems are built, observed, and operated. Along the way, you’ll help shape how we approach reliability as a discipline—closing visibility gaps, improving resilience, and ensuring our platform performs when it matters most.

About Tru Identity
Tru Identity is on a mission to make the process of importing goods into the US more simplified. We are re-imagining how trade compliance works; starting with the $4 trillion worth of goods imported into the U.S. every year.
Tru Identity is enabling companies globally to get compliant before their shipments have even left the port of origin. Doing so allows them to maintain on-time deliveries, keep sales flowing, and expand internationally.
We do this by helping importers, marketplaces and logistics providers automate all the complex regulatory compliance work that can slow trade down — saving significant time and money, eliminating fraud, and endless frustration. And though we’ve only really just got started, we’re growing fast with commercial and government customers already secured.
Joining now means you’ll be part of our foundational team with huge impact. You’ll have real ownership, a voice in shaping the products and a chance to help build something transformative from the ground up.
We move quickly, stay focused, and value grit and creative problem-solving above all else.
About the position
We’re looking for a seasoned Backend Engineer to lead the architecture and development of our scalable, intelligent systems incorporating powerful AI features. In this hands-on role, you’ll use your proven software engineering abilities to design, implement, and maintain robust, high-quality backend APIs and services running on AWS as well as mentoring junior engineers as the team grows. You should be an excellent communicator and a natural problem-solver with a bias for action.
Tech stack: Python, Django, NextJS, PostreSQL, pgvector, Qdrant, RAG, OpenAI, Langchain, CI/CD, Celery, BitBucket, Jenkins
