Pendo’s Customer Engineering team is the technical backbone of the pre- and post-sales customer motion. The team brings together work that has historically sat across Customer Success, Technical Account Management, and Solutions Engineering into one full-lifecycle technical owner. Customer Engineering helps customers connect technical execution to business outcomes and realize the value of their investment in Pendo.

As a Senior Customer Engineer, you own strategic and complex Enterprise accounts across acquisition, implementation, adoption, expansion, and escalation. You lead technical strategy for complex deployments, resolve ambiguous customer challenges, and partner closely with account teams to drive retention, expansion, and customer value. Your impact extends beyond your own accounts through playbooks, coaching, repeatable fixes, and workflow improvements that raise the capability of the broader Customer Engineering team.

This is a remote role supporting a South East territory. 

What this looks like day-to-day

• New customer acquisition and selling: Partner with Account Directors on pre-sales motions for new customer acquisition, product expansion, and expansion across lines of business. You identify customer pain, craft and deliver tailored demos, and lead technical evaluations through requirements gathering, success criteria, installation guidance, and hands-on workshops.
• Complex implementations and value realization: Lead onboarding for strategic customers, including planning, implementation, integrations, and training. You build customer-specific implementation playbooks, guide complex deployments with executive visibility, and ensure customers realize value during onboarding and over time.
• Adoption, expansion, and growth: Identify opportunities to expand adoption across underutilized features, untapped products, and new lines of business. When adoption stalls, you diagnose root causes, design a path forward, and connect technical work to measurable business outcomes.
• Technical escalation: Serve as an escalation point for complex technical challenges raised by other Customer Engineers. You resolve ambiguous problems with multiple variables and tradeoffs, involving Product or Engineering only when truly needed.
• Team capability building: Build playbooks, document repeatable fixes, coach peers, and improve how Customer Engineering work gets done across the team. You use AI tools to accelerate content creation, surface patterns across accounts, and share practical workflow findings with the broader team.
• Early account impact: Assess account health, risks, stakeholder relationships, and the highest-priority problems to solve within your portfolio. You establish trust with Account Directors and customer stakeholders, then independently lead complex customer interactions that move accounts forward.
• Quarterly business outcomes: Drive measurable improvement in customer health, retention, expansion, and technical resolution across strategic accounts. You contribute reusable frameworks, playbooks, or processes that other Customer Engineers use and become a trusted advisor to Account Directors on account health and technical strategy.

Must-haves

• 5 to 8 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Technical Account Management, Customer Engineering, implementation, professional services, or solutions architecture.
• Deep hands-on experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and REST APIs, with the ability to architect and troubleshoot complex front-end implementations.
• Proven experience managing strategic Enterprise accounts with executive-level stakeholders, competing priorities, and complex technical or business requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to solve ambiguous problems involving multiple variables, constraints, and tradeoffs.
• Experience connecting technical execution to business outcomes such as retention, expansion, ROI, and value realization.
• Hands-on use of AI tools for account research, content creation, or workflow automation, with demonstrated integration into day-to-day work rather than light experimentation.
• Experience mentoring or coaching more junior technical team members.

• Experience with Pendo, digital adoption platforms, product analytics, or in-app experience tooling in an enterprise environment.

Compensation: The expected On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for this role is $193,393 - $241,742, with a 70/30 base-to-variable compensation split.

Intimate, Working Familiarity With:

• Figma at an advanced level: variables, component architecture, design tokens, file organization that mirrors engineering structure, and developer handoff tooling.
• Design token systems and their relationship to front-end implementation (CSS custom properties, style dictionaries, multi-platform theming).
• AI-assisted design and development tools in active use: Claude Code, Figma MCP, agentic workflow tooling.
• Front-end development fundamentals: HTML, CSS, and at a minimum a working literacy in a component-based framework (React, React Native, Flutter, or equivalent).
• Collaboration with engineering teams in an agile delivery environment, including experience contributing to or reviewing component libraries in code.

• 5+ years of experience spanning product design and front-end engineering, with a portfolio that demonstrates both.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience contributing to open-source design systems or component libraries.

About the opportunity

The Customer Insights & Adoption (CIA) team is hiring a senior architect to lead internal technical enablement across Contentful’s product portfolio and recommended ways of building. The base salary range for this position is 113,000 - 190,300 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.

We're seeking a full stack Security Software Engineer to develop novel security tooling for securing our suite of products including and detecting potential cybersecurity issues across embedded Linux systems and Android devices. We are hiring a Senior Personalization Solution Architect with deep domain expertise in personalization and experimentation to join Contentful’s Professional Services team. Compensation - At Human Interest, we consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate pay range for each position, including the cost of labor in different markets across the U.S. The total On Target Earnings (OTE) for the role described in this job posting is $130,000 - $140,000 which includes a base salary of $70,000, and a variable target compensation of $70,000. The US base salary range for this position at the start of employment is $114,500 - $188,000. Within this range, individual pay is determined by specific US work location, as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and internal equity considerations.

Your Impact

The Real Time Operations division at Axon is on a mission to provide the best-in-class situational awareness software to emergency responders in order to make them more effective and efficient in managing life-and-death situations. As a staff software engineer, you will be joining our team focused on building a fast and performant real-time crime center application that can ingest real-time signals from devices at scale, and provide emergency responders with the features and functionality to focus on the most pertinent information for dealing with the situation at hand. You will take the lead for designing and building critical systems across the cloud, web, and mobile to direct first responders to where they are most needed.

You will join forces with device, other back-end, and front end teams to efficiently source realtime geo-located data from devices in the field such as patrol cars, body cameras and drones. You will join forces with communications teams responsible for streaming realtime media feeds and other signals from devices. You will join forces with application, customer and third party teams to ensure our users have other data they need to make tough decisions. You will write code that efficiently brings these data feeds together on a single map, allowing our users to make better decisions, saving lives.

In this role, you will be reporting to director of engineering for the Real Time Operations division. As a technical leader, you will be advising the division on the right long-term technical initiatives to invest in, and act as a force multiplier on the team, working intimately with other senior engineers in the division to guide and grow them. You are a great collaborator and coach, and will mentor our next set of senior engineers.

Your customer empathy and eagerness to understand users and their problems allows you to balance competing business and engineering priorities, helping to steer the team to achieve the best outcomes.

Work Location: This role is based out of our Atlanta Office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. Reports to: Director of Engineering

• Be the technical leader of our device state/notifications, partner integration and mobile apps teams for Real Time Operations division
• Lead designs of major software components, systems, and features.
• Review key architecture designs from senior engineers across other teams, and enforce a high bar on availability, performance, and usability in this mission-critical space
• Set a high technical bar for the team by writing well-tested, maintainable code and leading code and technical design reviews
• Join forces with other senior engineers on assessing the top engineering risks and guiding the organization on which strategic engineering initiatives to invest in
• Mentor and coach other senior engineers and grow the next set of technical leaders for the organization
• Work across teams with Product, Design, and Engineering to drive and deliver on our product roadmap
• Deliver groundbreaking experiences that help improve safety and efficiency of our users globally.

What You Bring

• 8+ years of professional software development experience
• Proven track record of designing and building complex, highly-available cloud systems
• Experience with different types of data storage systems, such as relational and NoSQL databases
• Experience with stream processing (Message brokers)
• (Nice to have) Experience with web frontend technologies like React, Redux and Typescript
• (Nice to have) Experience working with native mobile apps iOS or Android
• (Nice to have) Experience with Maps/Cartography
• Mentored and grown other senior software engineers
