This is an exciting position where you will be exposed to a variety of environments and technologies within different organizations around the world. As a valued member of the team you will be working closely with all disciplines such as BE Engineers, FE Engineers, QA Engineers, Solution Architects and Business Analysts on the successful delivery of Backbase software to our customers.
Being a consultant at Backbase means taking ownership of your projects and enabling our customers to set up their environments from test to production. You will analyze the particular situation, the needs and existing set up of our customers to provide documented guidelines for the implementation. You give advice on security standards and optimizing performance.
You design, develop and oversee the implementation of solutions that improve the stability, scalability, availability and latency of our product. At Backbase we focus on providing solutions instead of workarounds. You are in close contact with customers and partners which leads to valuable input to improve our product in your collaboration with our R&D teams.
How about You?
You have designed and/or built mission critical services (large scale internet or cloud-based services) and have proven experience with production systems and dealing with production issues:
● You hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent;
● You have a working knowledge of Maven, Jenkins, and Shell;
● You have experience deploying Java applications, JVM tuning, Tomcat;
● You have experience with Cloud (AWS or Google cloud), as well as expertise with Linux/Unix systems.
● You have been exposed to DEVOPS tools such as Travis CI, GitLabs, Jenkins, GoCD, Chef, Salt, Puppet, Terraform, Cloud formation.
It would be great if you also have:
● Experience with any of the following configuration tools: Ansible (preferable);
● Experience with Kubernetes (preferable) / Openshift / Pivotal Cloud Foundry;
● Experience deploying Spring Boot applications as a plus;
● Database experience as an administrator;
● Experience with Helm charts.

As a Customer Success Director at Backbase, you will be at the forefront of driving customer satisfaction and success across the region. You will be responsible for ensuring that our customers derive maximum value from Backbase’s Engagement Banking Platform. This role involves frequent travel across the region and requires a strong ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels, from C-suite decision-makers to programme leaders.

You take lead architect responsibility on the largest and most complex programs in the region. You translate business ambition into an architecture that holds up under scrutiny: integration, security, performance, scalability, resilience, and long-term maintainability. You shape the target state, the transition path, and the trade-offs the customer needs to understand before they commit.
You work across the full deal and delivery cycle. In pre-sales you partner with Sales and Solutions Engineering to win strategic opportunities, owning the architecture story from discovery through contract. In delivery you stay engaged at the moments that matter: inception, major design decisions, and the hard problems that surface mid-program. You do not manage a team of architects, but you raise the bar for the ones around you through design reviews, reference architectures, and worked examples.
You also contribute to how Backbase sells and delivers at scale. That includes producing reference designs, patterns, and points of view that other architects reuse, feeding field learnings back to Product and Engineering, and representing Backbase architecture in senior customer forums, analyst briefings, and partner conversations. Travel is significant, especially during inception and at key program milestones.
How about you?
• You have a decade or more of hands-on experience designing large Java platforms in production;
• Spring, Maven, and a modern CI/CD toolchain are second nature to you;
• You have strong, experience-backed opinions on Service Oriented and Micro-Services Architectures and when each is the right call;

● Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience;
● 8-10+ years experience in a quota carrying role;
● Track record of exceeding quota;
● 5+ years experience in digital banking;
● Ability to reverse engineer business objectives to reach your goals;
● Eagerness to figure out tough problems for your customers.
