WHO YOU ARE

2-3+ years of hands-on engineering experience in IT or software engineering roles, with a track record of shipping production code that real users depend on.

You'll own this problem end-to-end: from setting up cloud development environments where agents can run autonomously, to building MCP integrations that give agents access to our internal systems, to creating the documentation and context that helps agents understand how we build software.
You’ll have the hands-on acumen to do a lot of the heavy lifting yourself and the leadership skills to drive cross-team efforts to raise the bar everywhere. This role is a companion role to our Developer Productivity role but has a distinct focus: while Dev Productivity owns the build/test/deploy pipeline, you'll own the AI-assisted development experience. About Applied IntuitionWe are an in-office company, and our expectation is that employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. We are looking for bright engineers interested in designing elegant solutions to difficult problems for our defense customers. In this role, you will predominantly support our defense business units, focusing on the Axion and Acuity product lines.
Our software engineers work across our suite of products, tackling difficult full-stack, infrastructure, robotics, and computer vision problems. At Applied Intuition, we encourage engineers to take ownership over technical and product decisions, interact closely with defense stakeholders to collect feedback, and contribute to a mission-driven team culture.

Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on jurisdiction of employment.
Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.

About the Opportunity
As a Full Stack Engineer on our growing EV team, you will be responsible for developing our backend services while maintaining a high security posture within our growing infrastructure. What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
6+ years of professional experience as a front-end engineer, with at least 5 years of experience specifically in React
Extensive experience with JavaScript and developing UI components using React
Strong understanding of UI/UX design principles and implementing efficient, scalable GraphQL and REST APIs
Proven ability to address key UI concerns such as scalability, performance, and security to maintain a high-quality user experience
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Strong understanding of front-end build tools, package managers, monorepos, and version control systems such as Nx, npm, and Git
Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes

You will drive the evolution of our API-first architecture (including BFF and orchestration patterns), define and enforce API contracts, and modernize tightly coupled services into scalable, event-driven components.
This is an opportunity for a senior technical leader who thrives in ambiguity, moves pragmatically, and enjoys balancing hands-on engineering with architectural influence.
You will strengthen reliability, observability, and fault tolerance across distributed systems, scale and harden our patient communication platform (Email, SMS, notifications), and design secure systems handling sensitive patient and identity data in regulated environments. Additionally, you will champion best practices in automated testing, CI/CD, and secure development while elevating engineering standards through mentorship, design reviews, and technical leadership.
