Karbon is the global leader in AI-powered practice management software for accounting firms. We provide an award-winning cloud platform that helps tens of thousands of accounting professionals work more efficiently and collaboratively every day. With customers in 40 countries, we have grown into a globally distributed team across the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines. We are well-funded, ranked #1 on G2, growing rapidly, and have a people-first culture that is recognized with Great Place To Work® certification and on Fortune magazine's Best Small Workplaces™ List.
The DevOps Engineer will work within the Platform Engineering team and help provide the infrastructure, tooling, and automation that supports Karbon’s engineering teams. This role focuses on improving deployment workflows, platform reliability, and operational visibility across our cloud platform.
Engineers are expected to balance delivery speed with a strong commitment to quality, meeting agreed timelines while producing reliable, maintainable, and well-tested solutions. Sound judgment in making trade-offs between velocity and long-term sustainability is essential.
Collaborate Effectively
Engineering is collaborative by default. Team members are expected to contribute constructively in design discussions, reviews, and planning, communicate clearly about progress and risks, and support shared team outcomes in both hybrid and distributed environments.
Build and Maintain Systems
Engineers are responsible for building new capabilities while maintaining and improving existing systems. This includes designing scalable solutions, reducing technical debt, supporting operational stability, and contributing to continuous improvement.
Operate with Autonomy
A high degree of autonomy is expected. Given clear objectives, engineers should independently translate problems into actionable technical approaches, proactively identify improvements, and continuously expand relevant technical expertise.
Ownership and Accountability
Ownership is fundamental. Engineers are accountable for the quality, performance, and customer impact of their work from design through post-release support, and are expected to follow through on commitments.
AI-Enabled Engineering
AI is reshaping how software is built, and we are committed to leveraging it as a force multiplier for creativity, impact, and capability. Engineers are expected to confidently apply strong technical fundamentals while embracing AI tools and approaches to enhance productivity, problem-solving, and innovation. Curiosity, adaptability, and enthusiasm for integrating AI into meaningful product development are essential.
Contribute to Team Culture
Engineers contribute positively to a culture of professionalism, transparency, low bureaucracy, and mutual respect, strengthening team performance through authenticity, curiosity, and collaboration.
Some of your main responsibilities will include:
Candidates with the following characteristics and experience are encouraged to apply:
AI is reshaping how software gets built, and at Karbon we’re fully committed. We don’t see AI as a replacement for engineers. We see it as a force multiplier that will elevate creativity, impact and capability to levels we’ve barely begun to imagine. We’re looking for developers who are confident in their fundamentals, driven to grow, and excited to harness AI to build something meaningful. If you’re energized by this future rather than cautious of it, you’ll feel right at home here.
We build modern, scalable software on a thoughtfully designed stack:
Our architecture continues to evolve as we scale. We invest in event-driven systems, well-defined microservices, and containerized deployments (Azure Container Apps) to build resilient, decoupled, and high-performing software.
If you care about clean service boundaries, reliable systems, and shipping with confidence — you’ll feel right at home here.
Karbon embraces diversity and inclusion, aligning with our values as a business. Research has shown that women and underrepresented groups are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single criteria. If you've made it this far in the job description but your past experience doesn't perfectly align, we do encourage you to still apply. You could still be the right person for the role!
We recruit and reward people based on capability and performance. We don’t discriminate based on race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, lifestyle, age, educational background, national origin, religion, physical or cognitive ability, and other diversity dimensions that may hinder inclusion in the organization.
Generally, if you are a good person, we want to talk to you. 😛
If there are any adjustments or accommodations that we can make to assist you during the recruitment process, and your journey at Karbon, contact us at people.support@karbonhq.com for a confidential discussion.
At this time, we request that agency referrals are not submitted for this position. We appreciate your understanding and encourage direct applications from interested candidates. Thank you!

Buildkite's CI platform is trusted by the world's leading engineering teams, shipping software to over 1,000,000,000 daily users.
We're hiring a Staff Engineer (ML) to join our Test Engine team. In this role, you'll define and lead the technical strategy for machine learning within Test Engine — specifically, building the models and infrastructure behind predictive test selection: using code changes to determine which tests actually need to run.
Staff Engineers at Buildkite are hands-on technical leaders. You'll influence how we design, build, and scale systems while supporting other engineers to deliver their best work. You'll be the most senior ML practitioner in the company, setting the technical direction for how we approach test selection and establishing the patterns and infrastructure that the broader ML effort builds on.
The Test Engine team helps engineering teams ship faster by giving them visibility and control over their test suites. Today, that means real-time flaky test detection and management, intelligent test splitting across parallel jobs, and performance analytics and tracing — all working across any CI/CD platform, not just Buildkite Pipelines.
Test Engine already ingests billions of test runs. We have deep visibility into test suites, codebases, and the relationships between them. The next step is using that data to answer a fundamental question: for a given code change, which tests are most likely to fail?
We believe the industry is moving away from running full test suites on every change. The teams that can shift their outer testing loop into a fast, precise inner loop — running only the tests that matter — will ship value to their customers dramatically faster. For many of our customers, that speed is existential. Switching costs are low, competition is fierce, and the teams with faster feedback loops win.
This is where ML comes in. If we can model the relationship between code changes and test failures, we can give engineering teams a fundamentally faster development cycle. We're not trying to optimise individual tests — we're trying to build a generalised solution to test selection that works across codebases, frameworks, and languages.
At Buildkite, we value kindness, autonomy, and collaboration. You'll be joining a remote-first company where your work directly helps some of the world's best engineering teams build and ship software faster and more safely.
At Buildkite, we value diversity and celebrate all types of skills, backgrounds, and experiences. We’re dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment and providing reasonable accommodations throughout our recruitment process.
If you need any accommodations or support during the application or interview process, please reach out to us at accommodations@buildkite.com.

ROLLER isn’t your average SaaS company. We operate globally across 30+ countries, powering millions of real-world experiences in the leisure and attractions industry. What we build doesn’t just live on a screen. It shows up in busy venues, peak weekends, and unforgettable moments for guests.
Our mission is simple but ambitious: help operators run better businesses while creating great guest experiences. That means solving complex, real-world problems across ticketing, point of sale, self-service, memberships, kiosks, and digital waivers, all at meaningful scale.
Just as importantly, it’s the people. We’re a team of 300+ smart, grounded, and genuinely passionate humans working across the globe. We care about quality, ownership, and doing work we’re proud of, without taking ourselves too seriously.
We’re growing fast, aiming high, and building something that matters. If you want to work on real problems, with real customers, alongside people who care deeply about their craft and impact, ROLLER is a great place to do it.
🚀 Real Scale, Real Consequence - If you want your judgment to matter, this is the place. ROLLER is a global, rapidly scaling SaaS business backed by Insight Partners. In 2025, we powered 90 million guest experiences across those 35 countries and we’re growing fast towards 1 billion experiences a year. When things go wrong at this scale, the impact is real: lost revenue for operators and poor experiences for guests who are meant to be having fun, celebrating birthdays, or spending time with friends. The systems you design, build, and operate genuinely matter.
💻 Real-World Complexity, Not Toy Problems - This role suits engineers who enjoy problems shaped by the real world. You’ll work on high-impact capabilities. Getting it right means venues run smoothly. Getting it wrong shows up immediately.
🧠 Depth Over Churn - Rather than bouncing between unrelated features, you’ll go deep on a clearly defined problem space. That depth rewards strong technical judgment, careful consideration of downstream impact, and a long-term view of quality.
❤️ Loved by Customers - ROLLER is consistently highly rated on Capterra and G2, and trusted by leading operators worldwide. That doesn’t happen by accident. Customer obsession isn’t a value on a wall here, it’s embedded in how we prioritise, build, and measure success.
🏆 A Great Place People Choose to Stay - We’ve been Great Place to Work certified across multiple regions for several years running. That reflects a culture that values trust, autonomy, and growth, and an environment where high standards and psychological safety coexist. ROLLER ranks in the top 5% of sales organisations to work for on RepVue!
💸 Competitive Package & Real Career Growth - We offer competitive compensation and benefits aligned to the level of ownership we expect. As ROLLER scales, so do the opportunities. People grow here by taking on bigger problems, broader scope, and greater responsibility. Progression is driven by impact and capability, not tenure, and strong performance is recognised and rewarded.
As a vital member of our Product & Tech Team, you will utilise your expertise to work within our ecosystem of applications, services and infrastructure using a combination of C#, Angular, Typescript, T-SQL and harness the multitude of services offered by AWS including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SES and SQS.
You’ll work with an AI-augmented engineering environment, leveraging agentic workflows, LLM-powered tools, and automation to accelerate development and expand product capabilities. We place a strong emphasis on deep technical understanding and ownership. You’re expected to understand, validate and take responsibility for what AI produces. In this role, you’ll also design and build AI-powered features and systems that deliver smarter, more adaptive user experiences.
Like all Engineering roles at ROLLER, this position follows a hybrid work model - 3 days per week in our office located in the Sydney CBD, with flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the week. Many of our Engineers also choose to spend additional time in the office to collaborate and connect with the team in person.
You will build elegant solutions with code to solve problems and contribute directly to the success of our customers by:
We believe AI is a career-defining inflection point. ROLLER is a fast adopter of new technology like AI, and every team member is empowered to own their learning and use the latest tools to supercharge their impact. We’re looking for candidates with the proficiency and curiosity to embrace AI and technology — not just as a technical skill, but as a core competency to help us achieve big goals.
