About the team
The mission of Roku's Data Engineering team is to develop a world-class big data platform so that internal and external customers can leverage data to grow their businesses. Data Engineering works closely with business partners and Engineering teams to collect metrics on existing and new initiatives that are critical to business success. What you'll be doing
- Build highly scalable, available, fault-tolerant distributed data processing systems (batch and streaming systems) processing over 10s of terabytes of data ingested every day and petabyte-sized data warehouse
- Build quality data solutions and refine existing diverse datasets to simplified data models encouraging self-service
- Build data pipelines that optimise on data quality and are resilient to poor quality data sources
- Own the data mapping, business logic, transformations and data quality
- Low level systems debugging, performance measurement & optimization on large production clusters
- Participate in architecture discussions, influence product roadmap, and take ownership and responsibility over new projects
- Maintain and support existing platforms and evolve to newer technology stacks and architectures
We're excited if you have
- Extensive SQL Skills
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language, Python is required
- Experience in big data technologies like HDFS, YARN, Map-Reduce, Hive, Kafka, Spark, Airflow, Presto, etc.
- Proficiency in data modeling, including designing, implementing, and optimizing conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support scalable and efficient data architectures.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, Looker is a plus
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as developers, analysts, and operations to execute deliverables
- 8+ years professional experience as a data Engineer
- BS in Computer Science; MS in Computer Science preferred

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with vast experience in backend development, Data Engineering and Data Analytics to focus on building next level content platform and data intelligence, which empowers Search, Recommendation, and many more critical systems across Roku Platform. What You’ll Be Doing
- Work closely with product management team, content data platform services, and other internal consumer teams to contribute extensively to our content data platform and underlying architecture.
- Build low-latency and optimized streaming and batch data pipelines to enable downstream services.
- Build and support our Micro-services based Event-Driven Backend Systems & Data Platform.
- Design and build data pipelines for batch, near-real-time, and real-time processing.
- Participate in architecture discussions, influence product roadmap, and take ownership and responsibility over new projects.
We’re excited if you have
- 8+ years professional experience as a Software Engineer.
- Proficiency in Java/Scala/Python.
- Deep understanding of backend technologies, architecture patterns, and best practices, including microservices, RESTful APIs, message queues, caching, and databases.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, data structures and algorithms, with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into scalable and efficient solutions.
- Experience with Micro-service and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with Apache Spark and Apache Flink.
- Experience with Big Data Frameworks and Tools: MapReduce, Hive, Presto, HDFS, YARN, Kafka, etc.
- Experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tooling for ETL.

About the team
Roku runs one of the largest data lakes in the world. We store over 70 PB of data, run 10+M queries per month, scan over 100 PB of data per month.
Big Data team is the one responsible for building, running, and supporting the platform that makes this possible. We provide all the tools needed to acquire, generate, process, monitor, validate and access the data in the lake for both streaming data and batch. We are also responsible for generating the foundational data. The systems we provide include Scribe, Kafka, Hive, Presto, Spark, Flink, Pinot, and others. The team is actively involved in the Open Source, and we are planning to increase our engagement over time.
About the Role
Roku is in the process of modernizing its Big Data Platform. We are working on defining the new architecture to improve user experience, minimize the cost and increase efficiency. Are you interested in helping us build this state-of-the-art big data platform? Are you an expert with Big Data Technologies? Have you looked under the hood of these systems? What you will be doing
- You will be responsible for streamlining and tuning existing Big Data systems and pipelines and building new ones. Making sure the systems run efficiently and with minimal cost is a top priority
- You will be making changes to the underlying systems and if an opportunity arises, you can contribute your work back into the open source
- You will also be responsible for supporting internal customers and on-call services for the systems we host. Making sure we provided stable environment and great user experience is another top priority for the team
We are excited if you have
- 10+ years of production experience building big data platforms based upon Spark, Trino or equivalent
- Strong programming expertise in Java, Scala, Kotlin or another JVM language.
- A robust grasp of distributed systems concepts, algorithms, and data structures

You will be part of the Roku Content Management System and Tools Engineering team, playing a key role in developing the next generation content management systems that drive content ingestion, selection, management, and curation workflows. These systems are vital for empowering critical functions like Search and Recommendation on the Roku Platform. Your projects will have a direct impact on millions of Roku users globally. Throughout, you'll collaborate with key stakeholders across various Roku engineering teams and take the lead in designing our content management system.

- Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team responsible for content ingestion, enrichment, QC automation, and partner portal systems.
- Architect and scale distributed systems that handle millions of assets and metadata records, ensuring reliability and low-latency processing.
- Collaborate with product and operational partners to deliver a world-class Partner Portal that empowers studios, networks, and content providers to onboard and manage their catalogs seamlessly.
- Drive automation across video, audio, artwork, and metadata QC, integrating AI/ML-based services to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Partner cross-functionally to streamline content delivery and operational workflows.
- Provide technical direction, conduct code and design reviews, and ensure best practices in performance, observability, and security.
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables

We’re excited if you have
- 5+ years proven track record in hiring, building and leading high-caliber product engineering teams.
- 8+ years of software development experience with deep technical knowledge and expertise in building high availability, large-scale distributed systems and services.
- Proven experience in building scalable, distributed backend systems in cloud environments such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
- Strong understanding of microservice and event-driven architectures, including experience with messaging and streaming frameworks like Kafka, SQS, or similar technologies.
- Strong leadership, collaboration and communication skills in working with cross-functional teams across the organization and delivering on big and ambitious goals.
- Deep understanding of content management, metadata processing, and media workflow automation.

What will you do every day?
We are looking for a Software Architect to join our Engineering team. Suki's architecture practice is at an inflection point. We have sustained significant CCU growth, completed a demanding OLTP Database scaling journey, leveraged Redis Streams based service orchestration, deployed self-hosted ML models, built agent-driven workflows, launched an Offline Data Platform, and maintained a client surface spanning iOS, Android, Web, SDKs, and a Chrome extension — with on-device ML capabilities across all of them.
The Architect is the person who holds institutional memory and architectural coherence across this surface area — so that decisions made in isolation don't quietly contradict each other, patterns are reused rather than reinvented, and deviations from established patterns are documented, not silently absorbed. The work ahead includes enhanced agentic capabilities, continued multi-region expansion, investments on stream-based/offline data processing, and a growing ML inference footprint.
On a day to day basis, you will:
- Maintain architectural coherence across a complex and wide surface area.
- Own the load-bearing substrate through future growth and failure scenarios. The system must survive several multiples of current enterprise scale and every class of infrastructure event we can name.
- Drive the structural decomposition of platform and domain boundaries, service boundaries across the microservice portfolio, agentic framework direction, auth and access-control architecture, and cross-cutting concerns like observability and rate limiting.
- Bridge AI research and production infrastructure. Translate LLM and model requirements into efficient, production-grade services. Lead the agentic framework direction — memory architectures, tool orchestration, A2A patterns, semantic caching. Operate a GPU fleet at high duty cycle and understand dynamic batching, cross-session batching tradeoffs, and HPA calibration for GPU workloads.
- Document architectural patterns and deviations. Write Architectural Design Records, RFCs, and breaking-points documents that stand alone for readers unfamiliar with the context. Document deviations from established patterns with their reasons — not as failures, but as data points.
- Remain hands-on — stay connected to the craft, read and write code. Prototype new architectures. Review pull requests for patterns that matter. Implement the hard parts of a new pattern yourself when it matters. Lead resolution of the most critical incidents.
- Mentor and elevate the engineering organization. Act as a technical multiplier for senior engineers across backend, data, and ML disciplines. Hold a room, defend a position under pushback without collapsing into agreement, and adjust register for engineering vs. product vs. leadership audiences. Foster a culture of deep technical understanding, not just pattern-matching.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent production experience
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record operating at an Architect, Staff, or Principal level
- Expert-level proficiency in Go or Python, with the ability to lead architectural decisions and remain hands-on in code
- Production ownership of a real-time streaming system (Redis Streams, Kafka, Pulsar, or equivalent) at scale — including personal pager experience and a specific debugging story for a duplicate-processing or lost-message bug

What You Will Do

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Software Development Manager to lead a team of 8-14 engineers building critical settlement platform capabilities. The CGFS (Coupang Global Financial Settlement) team is responsible for the end-to-end settlement platform — from vendor master management and AR/AP registers, through netting engines and tax invoicing, to payment execution and GL posting. What You Will Be Doing

Role Overview
The C-Returns Platform team owns the end-to-end lifecycle of cancellations, returns, and exchanges for Coupang's e-commerce ecosystem. We process millions of post-purchase resolution requests through our customer facing Coupang App and CS/back-office channels, serving both Korea and Taiwan markets. Our platform is mission-critical infrastructure that directly impacts:

The Data Enablement Team

Within the Data organization, the Data Enablement team is chartered with creating scalable semantic models that make it safe for anyone to see and understand data. By partnering with product and engineering leaders, this team owns the data lifecycle from strategy to prototyping to implementation, executive dashboard and product level self-service support.
The Senior Data Analyst Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Data Enablement - this role will be responsible for unlocking analytics across the company. You will do this through a combination of data lifecycle ownership, data tooling enablement and outreach programs designed to foster the safe usage of scalable data models for reporting and analytic consumption.
You'll serve as a critical data and technical partner that empowers our Sales, TAM, and Customer Success teams with the deep product insights they need to succeed. An average week will find you partnering with these teams to understand their measurement needs, reviewing engineering plans to ensure we capture critical data signals from the Auth0 product and developing data products that drive key success metrics. You will have multiple tools and teams at your disposal to achieve the core outcome of creating product and customer insights that help our partners drive value and long-term customer success.
What you’ll be doing
- Partner with peers and leaders in Sales, TAM, Customer Success, Product, Engineering and Program Management to develop scalable measurement strategies for our data assets, products and services
- Drive scalable, semantic data models that can support stakeholders both inside of Auth0 and across the enterprise
- Educate and enlighten data stakeholders with newly available objects and models that will unlock product, revenue, sales and business insights
- Build reusable data models that support key concepts of the business (Entitlement, Activation, Utilization, Engagement, etc.)
- Deliver executive dashboards and product insights based on foundational productionalized data models
- Partner with other analysts to create composite measures and insights that span Auth0 and the enterprise
- Ensure that data privacy and governance is a first priority at all stages of the data lifecycle
What you’ll bring to the role
- 5+ years of experience in analytics, data engineering, or analytics engineering, or product management
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Streamlit, PowerBI, Sigma, Omni, etc.)
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Strong understanding of data lifecycle management including instrumentation, governance, modeling and self-service interfaces
- Experience working within a Jira/Agile environment to manage and prioritize technical work.
- Build relationships with partners and stakeholders to understand product data needs, distill business requirements into technical documentation and prioritize work accordingly
- Excellent business acumen and emotional intelligence in ambiguous environments
- BA or higher, preferred; additional relevant work experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable

Position Overview
We are looking for a Cloud Support Engineer - Database who is passionate about cloud infrastructure, database technologies, and delivering exceptional customer experiences, while providing high-touch, white-glove support to strategic accounts.
As a Cloud Support Engineer (IC2) at DigitalOcean, you will join a dynamic team dedicated to supporting and empowering customers to successfully run their workloads on our platform. You will work closely with customers to troubleshoot issues, optimize database performance, and guide them in adopting best practices across managed databases and cloud infrastructure.
In this role, you will build strong technical depth across database systems and DigitalOcean products while developing your ability to handle increasingly complex customer scenarios. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Engineering to ensure seamless customer outcomes. This role reports to the Manager, Cloud Support Engineer.
What You'll Do
- Deliver hands-on technical support for database and cloud infrastructure issues across technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Valkey (Redis), MongoDB and Clickhouse, with exposure to cloud-native and Kubernetes environments.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues impacting database performance, availability, replication, backups, and connectivity
- Guide customers in designing scalable, reliable, and high-performing database architectures on DigitalOcean
- Collaborate with senior engineers (IC3/IC4) and stakeholders to support onboarding, migrations, customer success, and the resolution of complex escalations.
- Participate in incident response and on-call rotations to support critical customer issues
- Contribute to team growth through case reviews and knowledge sharing, while developing and maintaining technical documentation and playbooks to drive continuous improvement.

What You'll Add to DigitalOcean
- 2–5 years of experience in technical support, DevOps, cloud engineering, or similar roles
- Hands-on experience with some of the major database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, Clickhouse), with some familiarity across Kafka and others.
- Strong Foundational knowledge of Linux, networking, and cloud infrastructure concepts
- Understanding of database fundamentals including backups, replication, indexing, and performance tuning

- Build and maintain data pipelines — batch and streaming — following medallion architecture patterns (Bronze / Silver / Gold)
- Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform and manage deployments via Cloud Build or equivalent CI/CD tooling
- Define and apply GCP landing zone standards including IAM, VPC, Shared VPC, Private Service Connect, and Org policies

DevOps Lead:
Top consumer brands like Nestle, Kimberly Clark, Natures Bounty, Johnson & Johnson, Mondelez, Kellogg to name a few rely on CommerceIQ suite of products to make efficient business decisions on a daily basis. It is critical to have services which run high quality data and algorithms that drive business decisions for our customers in a timely manner. As a DevOps you are responsible for building scalable, extensible, secure infrastructure on cloud for CommerceIQ’s applications and data science teams.
In this role, you will work with a couple of Infra/DevOps SDEs and partner with engineering managers to achieve CommerceIQ’s QoQ goals. As a DevOps lead, you will play a crucial role in upkeep security, cost, deployment infrastructure and maintain/develop services owned by Infra/DevOps team.
A successful candidate will be obsessed with technology and relentlessly raise the bar on the architecture, design and quality of code delivered while aggressively pursuing optimizations to meet cost and scale SLAs. The candidate should be capable of managing a fast-paced delivery schedule and influence and drive a high-level engineering strategy with the leadership, as well as take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy.
Functional level Expectations
- You should possess advanced knowledge of AWS and other software design approaches to guide the DevOps team in designing infrastructure that caters to scale, concurrency. Preferably AWS certified.
- You should be able to work in situations where you can use your prior expertise and judgment to determine goals, identify constraints, and propose an actionable plan.
- Your work is typically focused on working with multiple teams’ architecture and product solutions.
- You should be able to lead the design and implementation that are extensible and scalable

Required Skills
- At least 6-10 years of technology experience including 3+ years of working experience in cloud
- Ideal candidate should have handled operations, deployment and security of multiple SaaS/B2C products
- Deep knowledge of Python, Cloud or GoLang and one of the public clouds
- Good knowledge of log collection designs like EFK and metric collection tools like newrelic, Prometheus/Grafana or SignalFx
- Good knowledge in design, creation and consumption of RESTful API, Micro service architectures on public clouds preferably AWS
- Excellent analytical, communication and coding skills is a must.

K8s metrics and deployment metrics
We use newrelic(NR) for log collection and operational metrics. But certain shortcomings and solved problems in Prometheus/Grafana might force us to move away from NR. Apart from the prometheus track, the lead will have to work with all. stakeholders [apps/DS] to migrate from OCD to K8s, with all balance and checks in place
EFK stack
Log collection and analysis is via newrelic and it’ll cost us as we move more applications to K8s. We need to optimise or explore options like EFK stack of logs or sumo logic etc
Security audit
We need to be proactive and do frequent security audits of our applications. We need a security center with all our documentation. Place to store the docs/questionnaires we filled for our clients etc.
BCP
We need to audit all our services for disaster recovery and develop a BCP across the company.
CI/CD
The lead is expected to enforce git branching and set code cov, style check guidelines across teams and projects. E.g Publishing the guidelines for Java project, NodeJS project, Python project. Establishing average code cov metrics, running static code analysis, findbug and other security code scanning tools
Infra services
The Infra team also has many services, especially crucial services like BSS (CSS) . These infra services should set the benchmark for DevOps best practices in the org.
Azkaban
Azkaban is our ETL orchestrator. It's run in-house and has custom code deployed. Maintenance of Azkaban to match growth is needed. Exploration and guidance to use other orchestrators like airflow, step function, astronomer is also expected

Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, the Lead Engineer will guide the design and implementation of the software solutions under the User Generated Content (UGC) business division. Our teams work across the front-end (React & Elm), backend (Java/Kotlin), Data (Snowflake, dbt, Tableau), DevOps, and QA. We need a seasoned engineer who can shape the long-term design of our system. This person will guide our teams in architecting product features in a way that moves us towards that vision. **This is a hybrid role, requiring 2 days per week in our Bangalore office**
Senior Software Engineer will work closely with other engineers of varying disciplines (DevOps, QA, Front-End ReactJS, etc), product, as well as other parts of the organization. They craft applications in Java/Kotlin, leveraging AWS, CircleCI, and Terraform. We are always looking to adopt modern technology to solve business challenges. Responsibilities:
- Build out features and solutions to collect, moderate, and/or deliver user-generated content to our customers
- Become an expert on multiple of our solutions and areas of our codebase, while understanding the larger architecture of our entire suite of solutions
- Participate in technical brainstorming and knowledge transfer sessions; provide technical advice at a team level and a department level
- Communicate across teams by collaborating with fellow engineers, product managers, UX designers, operations, and other development teams to build a holistic experience
- Proactively identify pain points and potential issues within our architecture and code base, and proactively tackle tech debt
- Contribute to each step of the product development process, from ideation and design, to planning and architecting, to building out the solution and infrastructure, to testing, to releasing, and maintenance
- Participate, build, and implement department CI/CD, application monitoring, security, and general developer tooling initiatives
- Mentor more junior engineers
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- 8+ years of full-stack application development in our language stack (Kotlin, Java) and with AWS
- 5+ years of experience developing APIs for front-end applications
- 5+ years of strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and large data sets
- 2+ years of experience leveraging and maintaining CI/CD tooling (CircleCI, Drone, GitHub Actions)
- 2+ years of experience leveraging infrastructure as code using Terraform
- 1+ years of experience with event-driven development (SQS, SNS, Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub) and idempotent patterns
- Previous experience leveraging automated database DDL (Liquibase, Flyway)
- Previous experience leveraging automated database DDL (Liquibase, Flyway)
- Previous experience with object data stores (AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, GCP Cloud Storage) and/or document data stores (AWS DynamoDB, MongoDB, NoSQL)
- Previous experience building containerized applications (Docker) and deploying them to orchestration (AWS ECS, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm)
- Experience with source control tools such as Git
