The Role 

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and operate the data pipelines and aggregates that power Zeta’s AdTech platform. This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on high-scale batch + streaming data processing, reliable data products, and analytics-ready datasets that enable prediction, agentic workflows, BI reporting, and measurement. You will partner closely with backend, ML, and product teams to deliver trusted, well-modeled data with strong performance, quality, and observability. 

What You’ll Do 

• Build data pipelines: Develop robust batch and streaming pipelines (Kafka/Kinesis) to ingest, transform, and enrich large-scale event data (impressions, clicks, conversions, costs, identity signals). 

• Create data aggregates & marts: Design and maintain curated aggregates and dimensional models for multiple consumers—prediction models, agents, BI dashboards, and measurement workflows. 

• Data modeling & contracts: Define schemas, data contracts, and versioning strategies to keep downstream systems stable as sources evolve. 

• Data quality & reliability: Implement validation, anomaly detection, backfills, and reconciliation to ensure completeness, correctness, and timeliness (SLAs/SLOs). 

• Performance & cost optimization: Optimize compute/storage for scale (partitioning, file sizing, incremental processing, indexing), balancing latency, throughput, and cost. 

• Orchestration & automation: Build repeatable workflows with scheduling/orchestration (e.g., Airflow, Dagster, Step Functions) and CI/CD for data pipelines. 

• Observability for data systems: Instrument pipelines with metrics, logs, lineage, and alerting to accelerate detection and root-cause analysis of data issues.
• Security & governance: Apply least-privilege access, PII-aware handling, and governance controls aligned with enterprise standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production data pipelines and data products (batch and/or streaming) in a high-scale environment.
• Strong experience with SQL and data modeling (dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, event modeling). 

• Hands-on experience with streaming systems (Kafka preferred) and/or AWS Kinesis, including event-driven designs. 

• Proficiency in one or more languages used for data engineering (Python, Java, Scala, or Go). 

• Experience with distributed data processing (Spark, Flink, or equivalent) and performance tuning at scale. 

• Experience with AWS data services and cloud-native patterns (S3, Glue/EMR, Athena, Redshift, etc. as applicable). 

• Familiarity with lakehouse/table formats and large-scale storage patterns (e.g., Parquet; Iceberg/Hudi/Delta are a plus). 

• Experience with orchestration/workflow tooling (Airflow/Dagster/Step Functions) and CI/CD for data workloads. 

• Strong data quality/observability practices (tests, monitoring, lineage; understanding of SLAs/SLOs). 

• Experience with SQL + NoSQL data stores (e.g., Postgres/MySQL; DynamoDB/Cassandra/Redis) and choosing the right store per use case.
• Clear communicator and collaborator; able to work with mixed audiences and translate needs into reliable data interfaces. 

Preferred Experience

• AdTech / programmatic advertising domain knowledge: DSP/SSP/exchange/RTB concepts and data flows. 

• Experience building measurement pipelines (attribution, incrementality, lift, or experimentation analytics).
• Experience supporting ML feature stores, offline/online feature generation, or model training datasets. 

• Experience with real-time analytics stores (Druid/ClickHouse/Pinot) and high-cardinality aggregation strategies. 

• Deep knowledge of data governance/privacy, including PII handling and consent-aware data processing.

SALARY RANGE

The salary range for this role is $165,000 - $175,000, depending on location and experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

A Motion Graphic Artist responsible for creating engaging, brand-driven animations while supporting videography post-production, including editing, color correction, and visual polish across multiple platforms. This role also provides photography post-production support using Photoshop, retouching, and preparing still assets to align seamlessly with video and motion-based storytelling.

The base salary range for this position is $100,000-$115,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. OVERVIEW

This work will create a scalable foundation that can be expanded over time with additional product attributes, governance, and automation to support ALO’s continued growth and tech environment expansion.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The Senior AI Data Engineer will serve as both architect and builder of our data ecosystem. Every initiative will follow a complete engineering lifecycle: gathering stakeholder requirements, designing the solution, building and testing it, and shipping it to production. This role will work across data lakes, analytics pipelines, and lightweight application development— the multi-disciplinary data equivalent of a full-stack developer.

What will you do?

Full Lifecycle Project Ownership:

• Engage stakeholders directly to gather, clarify, and document project requirements.
• Translate requirements into architected data solutions: choose the right storage, pipeline, modeling, and delivery approach for each problem.
• Own testing end-to-end — unit tests, data quality checks, reconciliation, and integration tests before anything reaches production.
• Deploy solutions to production and monitor post-deployment health, iterating rapidly based on real-world feedback.

AI-First Data Engineering: 

• Run parallel AI coding sessions (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) across different facets of a pipeline simultaneously — orchestrate, verify, and integrate the outputs.
• Build and maintain context files (CLAUDE.md equivalents) for data projects that encode schema conventions, pipeline patterns, and institutional knowledge — making every future AI session smarter.
• Design verification loops: automated data quality checks, dbt tests, CI hooks, and pipeline monitors that give AI agents concrete feedback on correctness. • Build MCP (Model Context Protocol) or equivalent integrations to connect AI agents directly to Snowflake, Amazon Athena, Postgresql, MySql, Power BI APIs, Salesforce, and internal tooling.
• Prefer frontier models for complex architectural decisions and rely on AI acceleration to dramatically increase engineering throughput.

Data Platform & Pipeline Engineering:

• Design and build complex, reliable data pipelines ingesting from AWS, Azure, Salesforce, MuleSoft, and multiple third-party APIs into our AWS Data Lake and Snowflake warehouse.
• Implement and evolve data models using Kimball methodology to support financial, operational, and clinical analytics.
• Optimize pipeline performance, manage data quality, and perform root-cause analysis on data anomalies — internal and external. • Develop and maintain orchestration workflows in Python, and AWS Glue.
• Continuously evolve the data schema as business and engineering requirements change.

Analytics & Reporting Enablement:

• Build and support Power BI data models and reports; empower analytics team members to self-serve on a reliable data foundation.
• Work with data analysts and data scientists to build reusable, well-documented pipeline components they can extend independently.
• Deliver data products that drive clinical care decisions, financial planning, and operational performance improvements.

Application Development:

• Build lightweight internal data applications and tooling where needed; data entry interfaces, operational dashboards, automation scripts that bridge the gap between data pipelines and end users.
• Design for agentic workflows: build AI-powered data tools accessible via web interfaces or Slack that surface insights proactively.
• Integrate with Salesforce Health Cloud and other platforms using APIs and event-driven patterns.

• Ensure data security and HIPAA compliance in all pipeline and application work. Partner with IT to enforce data governance standards.
• Document decisions, tradeoffs, and architecture clearly so that future engineers (and AI agents) can build on your work effectively.

Domain Architecture Ownership

• Experience streamlining multiple data pipelines into a centralized function that allows effective and efficient oversight of business processes and product development; expertise in integrating diverse data sources, including product, transactional, and compliance data
• Embedded analytics into product, finance, sales, marketing, business operations, and customer experience 
• Ability to navigate hypergrowth while managing regulatory constraints 
• Strong people leader, capable of both strategic leadership and driving execution; experience leading and scaling data and analytics teams north of 10 
• Strong technical foundation, demonstrated through education or early-career hands-on roles 
• Experience with production-quality AI/ML, predictive modeling, and leveraging analytics tools like VertexAI, MLOps, MLFlow, dbt, Microstrategy, Tableau, and Power BI, Thoughtspot 
• Experience leading the development of a robust and scalable data platform that can support the organization’s growing data needs 
• Advanced degree in Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred

What You'll Do:

• Build and operate scalable data pipelines with robust QA, monitoring, and alerting 
• Create shared tooling to improve data practitioner (data engineering, analytics engineering, data science) productivity and quality across the company 
• Influence the direction for key infrastructure and framework choices for data pipelining and data management 
• Contribute to core cross-functional data models 
• Launch data platform features that have immediate impact on the velocity of innovation and ultimately growth of the business 
• Manage individual initiatives—Setting priorities, deadlines, and deliverables based on your technical expertise 
• Foster a culture of inclusion, results-oriented execution, open innovation, and limitless creativity in your team 
• Specialize in one or more business domains, building deep expertise and anticipating the needs of that business vertical 

What You've Done:

• 7+ years of relevant development experience—in data platform or data engineering—in fast paced environments 
• Very high SQL proficiency, with experience in both transactional RDBMS systems and distributed systems 
• Strong programming and system design skills 
• Experience designing and developing large-scale, efficient batch and streaming data processing 
• Ability to analyze and reason about large datasets to identify data quality issues and other contextual insights 
• Experience mentoring, delegating to, and reviewing the work of junior team members 
• Passion for great data end-user experience and stewardship 
• Experience with: 
  • Data pipeline management and orchestration tools, such as Airflow
  • Cloud-based data warehousing solutions, such as Snowflake, BigQuery, and Redshift
  • Batch processing systems, such as Spark
