About the Team:

The Systems Engineering team ensures that Terran R comes together as a cohesive, high-performing, and scalable system. Within the department, one team focuses on building tools and processes to manage requirements, track decisions, and identify and mitigate risk - enabling faster, more informed development across the program. Engineers work across domains to understand complex problems, identify solutions, and implement them – all with deep technical knowledge, not just documentation. The other team focuses on the vehicle itself, working across teams to ensure all subsystems of Terran R function together as intended, burning down technical risk, and driving informed decisions at every stage of the vehicle lifecycle. Engineers are empowered to lead high-impact efforts, from major test campaigns to console operations during launch, and are trusted to drive improvements across fluids, structures, avionics, and more. About the Role:

The Vehicle Build team at Relativity Space is a small, dynamic group within the Vehicle Engineering organization, specializing in cross-functional vehicle development, designing for operability, defining Concept of Operations for downstream work centers, and determining vehicle verification activities. Our team acts as the engineering focal point throughout the vehicle's lifecycle, ensuring consistency in the vehicle build process. We manage upstream and downstream impacts, excel at addressing complex problems, and solving new build challenges. Our group solves for balance between performance, launch/build rate, and reliability. This involves determining requirements, verification events, tools, guidance, and processes, all with operability at the forefront. On this team, you'll collaborate with every function across the company to help design, build, test, fly, recover, and reuse Terran R. You will: 

• Balance technical, cost, and schedule constraints; weighing options, investigating scenarios, and proposing solutions
• Owning the scope of verification activities for Integration, test, and launch site checkouts
• Following the vehicle through its life cycle to ensure consistency in quality and process
• Drive systems through qualification, acceptance, and hotfire test campaigns by writing/reviewing test objectives, test matrices, and test plans
• Enable manufacturing teams to scale by owning specific off-nominal work scope

About the Team: 

The Avionics team is responsible for the full lifecycle of Terran R’s nervous system, designing, building, testing, installing, and operating the hardware that connects and controls every major electrical system on the vehicle and ground. The team leverages close partnership between avionics design, manufacturing, and test to enable rapid iteration and feedback loops. Engineers are deeply embedded into other functions within Relativity, working closely with propulsion, GNC, fluids, and stage engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and operation. Now is a unique time to join: you’ll get to help shape Terran R's fundamental avionics architecture and be given a high degree of ownership on components that will fly.

The Battery Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, maintaining, and repairing battery systems used in energy storage, electric vehicles, industrial equipment, and backup power applications. This role ensures batteries operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with performance standards.

About the Role:

• Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot battery systems using meters, analyzers, and diagnostics software
• Verifying charge/discharge performance
• Assemble battery packs, modules, and wiring harnesses following technical drawings and safety protocols
• Conduct capacity test, load test, and quality checks to verify system performance
• Document test results, maintenance actions, and system performance data
• Replace defective cells, wiring, or components and ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials

About You:

• Knowledge of electrical systems, DC power, and basic electronics

About the Team:

The Recovery team is an integral part of the Cape Canaveral launch site, primarily responsible for the design, construction, and operation of the vessels used to recover the Terran R launch vehicle. This scope includes everything from vessel design and maintenance to the safing and securing of the rocket post-flight. We collaborate closely with teams across the company, including launch pad fluids engineers, rocket engine designers, and vehicle operators.

About the Role:

• Assist in bringing the Terran R Recovery barge from concept layouts to detailed plans, followed by supporting construction and activation efforts
• Responsible for the detailed layout, configuration and implementation of Terran R Recovery Barge systems, including everything from consoles and lighting to thrusters, power distribution, fire suppression and fuel storage
• Support build, activation, and certification of the Recovery vessel subsystems
• Safely support system checkouts for vessel power and dynamics systems
• Support operation and troubleshooting of vessel systems leading up to and during the Terran R flight campaigns
• Work with engineers and technicians to develop guides, plans and training to ensure safe operation of the Recovery vessel

About You:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field from an accredited institution
• At least one (1) year of experience in vessel layout, vessel design, vessel construction, or related marine engineering work
• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering fundamentals and first principles
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software
• Experience performing engineering analysis using finite element analysis (FEA), hand calculations, or equivalent analytical methods
• Ability to travel for extended periods as required by business needs, including work in shipyards, offshore locations, and industrial environments

The mission of the Engine Manufacturing department is to deliver high-performing products and innovative manufacturing systems while driving continuous improvements in cost, quality, and lead time. Through cross-functional collaboration, high levels of accountability, and a focus on safety we play a crucial role in building our reusable rocket, Terran-R. We are responsible for providing design feedback on new hardware iterations, pioneering and implementing advanced manufacturing methods and systems, and ultimately delivering engine and vehicle hardware for testing prior to launch. Over the past year, the Engine Manufacturing Team has successfully developed, iterated, and delivered processes and hardware for the first Aeon-R development engines. • Design & Commission new test assets and systems - incorporating fluid, mechanical, and electrical components – to unlock new capabilities or enhance existing ones.

The Avionics Test & Operations team is responsible for testing avionics hardware and systems across the entire product lifecycle of Terran R: component-, subsystem-, and vehicle-level. As an Avionics Test Engineer at Relativity Space, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing avionics testing strategies for our rocket systems. This includes working closely with the avionics design team to identify and troubleshoot any issues and developing automation and testing infrastructure to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

About the Role:

• Develop frameworks and infrastructure to conduct qualification and acceptance testing of Avionics components on the Terran R launch vehicle
• Design equipment to facilitate Avionics component testing: simulation circuits, auxiliary test equipment, test harnesses, mechanical fixtures and enclosures, and system validation tools

About the Team: 

The Manufacturing team owns all process development, fabrication strategy, and production equipment for Terran R, our next generation, reusable rocket. This team has a wide variety of responsibilities – from factory floor layout, to developing complex tooling for novel processes, and interfacing with our vehicle engineering team to heavily influence design of the rocket. We leverage our deep expertise to translate engineering requirements into highly optimized production lines, working cross functionally to consistently enhance the vehicle program. 

This is a 2nd shift position with a standard schedule of 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM PT, Monday through Friday. The role includes a 10% shift differential added to the base pay. Please note that this position is structured around a baseline expectation of a 50-hour workweek, which may include occasional overtime as needed to meet operational goals.

• Architect and implement power delivery networks for high-complexity carrier boards, including 500W+ multi-rail designs with tight sequencing integrating GPU or CPU compute modules onto custom PCBs with high-speed coherent interconnects

You will define the storage architecture and build it yourself. This is not a role where someone else hands you a design and you implement it, and it's not a role where you write architecture documents and hand them to someone else to build. You will make the foundational architectural decisions (redundancy topology, replication strategy, failure domain boundaries, consistency guarantees, write-lifecycle management), build and test prototypes on commodity hardware, and then build the low-level systems code that makes those decisions real: storage drivers, filesystem integration, and fault recovery systems that survive radiation upsets across the full mission lifetime. You'll carry the design from proof-of-concept on commodity hardware through integration on flight hardware, validating every architectural assumption with fault injection testing along the way. 

• Own the redundancy and replication architecture across multiple NAS units on two independent hardware strings, defining the consistency model for cross-string replication, the precise bound on acceptable data loss during a radiation-induced crash, and the storage platform's contractual guarantees in every degraded state: drive level, NAS unit, or full string failure. Codify this as the failure mode matrix that drives every implementation decision downstream 
• Select the filesystem and design the pool architecture, confirming or revising the current ZFS baseline and owning the final configuration. Validate through quantitative reliability modeling that balance upset probability, rebuild risk, write endurance, and usable capacity over the full mission

About the Role:

• Lead the Supply Chain Finance team, setting strategic direction for inventory financial planning, materials spend management, and manufacturing and bill of materials cost analysis. 
• Drive end to end improvements across finance, supply chain, and materials management regarding financial management of the bill of materials capturing evolutions of the vehicle over time. 
• Establish frameworks for tracking and analyzing inventory movements, ensuring accuracy and alignment with MRP systems.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline with 10+ years of experience in FP&A, Supply Chain Finance, Cost Accounting in aerospace, manufacturing, or other related industries. 
• Deep understanding of MRP/MES systems, BOM structures, inventory management principles, and manufacturing cost accounting. 
• Proven ability to build complex financial models incorporating cost reduction curves, learning curves, and manufacturing scaling assumptions.

The Engine Manufacturing team is dedicated to delivering high-performance engines and advancing innovative manufacturing systems that continuously improve cost, quality, and lead time. Having successfully developed and refined processes for our initial development engines, the team is now focused on producing flight engines at rate for Terran R’s aggressive launch manifest.

As a Turbomachinery Engineer, you will produce components and assemblies for the fuel and oxidizer turbopumps of the Aeon-R and Aeon-R Vac engines. As a Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer, you will own the manufacturing trades and then develop the processes for fabricating, testing, and delivering critical Aeon-R hardware and subassemblies. You will serve as the main point-of-contact between the manufacturing and design teams as we optimize Aeon-R architecture and scale manufacturing operations. To be successful in this role, you should be someone who thrives in ambiguity and is able to drive their own projects to completion. You must have the passion, tenacity and resolve to work through challenging issues unique to rocket turbopumps and additively manufactured hardware. The Tooling and Factory Automation team sits at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and automation, making everything from large-scale structural fixtures to small tools that directly enable Terran R’s production. As a design group embedded within the manufacturing organization, we dig deep into the needs of our internal partners to understand root problems, propose solutions, and deliver hardware to help build faster, scale smarter, and work better. The team is also at the forefront of Relativity’s growing factory automation efforts, an increasingly critical part of scaling production of Terran R at existing and future facilities. You’ll have the autonomy to make decisions, field solutions, and see them in action on the factory floor. Ultimately, you’re not just designing tools or automated processes; you’re defining how rockets and factories get built.

About the Role:

The Mechanical Design Engineers are responsible for the design and development of tools and factory automation equipment that support manufacturing. The Mechanical Engineering team works closely with Design and Manufacturing, turning top-level requirements and concepts into functional delivered equipment. The Mechanical Design Engineering team brings a high level of innovation and ingenuity into the design process, as they are tasked with building out a highly automated production facility. 

• Develop high quality development and production tooling and automation solutions for the Terran vehicle and Aeon engine programs
• Capable of integrating concepts and principles of mechanical design and analysis of several different projects in a fast-paced environment - projects will vary in size and scale
• Ability to interpret and apply sound design and drafting standards (ASME Y14.5) in creating tooling drawing definitions
• Handle a wide range of technical problems and familiar with all types of material handling, assembly fixtures, off-loaders, rotisseries, test fixtures, structural weldments, environmental chambers, and custom machines
• Close collaboration with component designers, manufacturing engineers, and integration engineering to achieve the best possible cradle to grave metrics (safety, cost, quality, cycle time, delivery, reliability, life, and maintenance/refurbishment)
• Manage projects including vendor selection, fabrication, inspection, equipment installation, and commissioning of tooling 

About You:  

• Bachelor of Science degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent 
• 6+ years of work or project experience with design, build, and commissioning of tooling and fixtures for manufacturing, assembly and test 
• Experience using CAD and FEA-based analysis software (NX and ANSYS Workbench preferred) for structural applications 
• Experience in full-cycle project completion 
• Experience in strategic buildout and project management of tooling supporting production 

Nice to haves but not required:  

• Strong expertise in design for manufacturability and design for assembly including experience taking products from prototype design to production
• Solid understanding of common manufacturing materials, GD&T, and tolerance/stack-up analysis
• Solid understanding of common manufacturing processes and machines including mills, lathes, welding, sheet-metal bending, lifting/rigging, assembly, inspection, etc.
• Experience with custom machine design: motors, actuators, linear rails/actuators, pneumatics, bearings, etc.

The Stennis Test team designs, builds, and operates Relativity’s propulsion and stage test stands. Team members are hands-on with large-scale, complex systems including fully integrated engines and stage assemblies, pushing hardware to the limits and directly contributing to flight readiness. The work is fast-paced and highly operational, ideal for those with backgrounds in aviation, automotive, manufacturing, offshore operations, industrial systems, construction, or adjacent industries. About the Role:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Relativity, you will be responsible for design, fabrication, and modification of test stands for our Terran 1 and Terran R engines and stages.  Engineers at our Stennis facility are engaged directly with construction and maintenance activities in the field, across a variety of hours to years-long project scales. This position will be titled Senior Propulsion Test Engineer within the organization.

• Design advanced propulsion test stands, including 3D modeling, fluids and structural analysis, fabrication drawings, fluids P&IDs, component lists, and detailed work instructions
• Supervise the construction, commissioning, and initial operations of these facilities
• Solve a variety of technical problems, across broad ranges of timeframe, complexity, cost, and long-term impact
• Support operations on and perform related improvements to existing test stands
• Ability to work occasional night shifts

About You:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field and 5+ years of combined engineering experience is required
  • Prior experience in aerospace is not required
  • Varied perspectives & backgrounds strengthen our team
• Ownership of propulsion or structural test related projects including design, analysis, construction, and commissioning from beginning to end as well as proficiency in 3D modeling and drafting, including GD&T
• Demonstrated engineering fundamentals in thermal, structural, and fluids analysis as well as a demonstrated drive to deliver on tight schedules, especially when unconventional & creative solutions are necessary
• Hands-on fabrication experience using common power tools for projects at work/home/school
• Knowledge of fluid components such as valves, regulators, and instrumentation as well as experience designing, fabricating, and operating complex fluid systems
• This position requires a valid driver's license in order to operate vehicles on the test site

Nice to have but not required:

• Experience with FEA or CFD
• Hands-on experience with metalworking, welding, hydraulics, manufacturing, etc.
• In depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, material selection, inspection, precision measurement, and non-destructive testing

Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at our government partner location in Stennis, Mississippi.

The Structures and Mechanisms team is responsible for the full design, build, and test lifecycle of Terran R’s integrated structures and flight mechanisms. Whether you're working on highly iterative mechanisms that move or tight-margin structures that shouldn’t, you’ll get hands-on hardware ownership and see the rocket coming to life on the factory floor. Both teams fall under one department, sharing design principles, tools, and an integrated approach that provides a comprehensive view of Terran R. Team members work on multiple parts, not just within a single subsystem, and are empowered to make decisions that directly impact flight hardware. Beyond first flight, you’ll play a critical role in refining for manufacturability and speed.

About the Role: 

To support our mission of changing the way rockets are built and flown, you will guide the design of Terran R mechanisms such as stage separation, payload deployment, aero control features and landing gear. To be successful, you will be working collaboratively with partner groups such as structures, avionics and fluids; and leverage our additive process and design freedom to design and build better products. The scope of work encompasses a full design cycle, including conceptualization, trade studies, design, analysis, manufacturing and testing of components.

Here are some examples of projects you could be working on:

• Design and test the Terran R stage separation or fairing deployment system
• Innovative conceptualization of the Terran R landing gear or aero surfaces actuation
• Definition of design criteria and subsystems requirements
• Review of static and dynamic load inputs, material properties & manufacturing process
• Conduct trade studies on different mechanism design concepts and present to leadership

Your mission will be to deliver on time and budget. You will be challenged to integrate as many subsystems within our printed primary structure, and support the development of our additive process to make this a reality. To achieve this, you will be working closely with our vehicle design, test and loads teams, as well as our additive and manufacturing teams.

In order to be successful in this role, you should be someone who is self-motivated, thrives in ambiguity, and is able to lead his or her own projects to completion. Ideally, you are someone who has come from a fast-paced environment, having completed difficult projects with extreme ownership while collaborating effectively with other key groups.

About You:  

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline
• 5+ years of experience in a full cycle design engineering role, including CAD, analysis, build and test
• Fundamental knowledge of kinematic synthesis, pneumatic/hydraulic actuation, mechatronics and instrumentation
• Fundamental knowledge of structures strength, stability and fatigue failure modes
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and surface treatments
• Proven track record of technical problem-solving and hands-on hardware build experience
• Communication and interpersonal skills to lead discussions on complex technical topics

Nice to haves but not required:  

• 7+ years of aerospace experience or an advanced engineering degree
• Experience with launch vehicle mechanisms and multi-body dynamics analysis
• Experience in a demanding fast pace development environment
