The Stennis Test team designs, builds, and operates Relativity’s propulsion and stage test stands. Team members are hands-on with large-scale, complex systems including fully integrated engines and stage assemblies, pushing hardware to the limits and directly contributing to flight readiness. The work is fast-paced and highly operational, ideal for those with backgrounds in aviation, automotive, manufacturing, offshore operations, industrial systems, construction, or adjacent industries. You’ll work in a close-knit, dynamic environment where collaboration between technicians, operators, and engineers is not only encouraged, but expected. About the Role:
As a Senior Propulsion Test Engineer at Relativity, you will be responsible for design, fabrication, and modification of test stands for our Terran 1 and Terran R engines and stages. Engineers at our Stennis facility are engaged directly with construction and maintenance activities in the field, across a variety of hours to years-long project scales. This position will be titled Senior Propulsion Test Engineer within the organization.
- Design advanced propulsion test stands, including 3D modeling, fluids and structural analysis, fabrication drawings, fluids P&IDs, component lists, and detailed work instructions
- Supervise the construction, commissioning, and initial operations of these facilities
- Solve a variety of technical problems, across broad ranges of timeframe, complexity, cost, and long-term impact
- Support operations on and perform related improvements to existing test stands
- Ability to work occasional night shifts
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field and 5+ years of combined engineering experience is required
- Prior experience in aerospace is not required
- Varied perspectives & backgrounds strengthen our team
- Ownership of propulsion or structural test related projects including design, analysis, construction, and commissioning from beginning to end as well as proficiency in 3D modeling and drafting, including GD&T
- Demonstrated engineering fundamentals in thermal, structural, and fluids analysis as well as a demonstrated drive to deliver on tight schedules, especially when unconventional & creative solutions are necessary
- Hands-on fabrication experience using common power tools for projects at work/home/school
- Knowledge of fluid components such as valves, regulators, and instrumentation as well as experience designing, fabricating, and operating complex fluid systems
- This position requires a valid driver's license in order to operate vehicles on the test site
Nice to have but not required:
- Experience with FEA or CFD
- Hands-on experience with metalworking, welding, hydraulics, manufacturing, etc.
- In depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, material selection, inspection, precision measurement, and non-destructive testing
Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at our government partner location in Stennis, Mississippi.

About the Role:
- Serve as an Electrical Engineer connecting various internal technical teams to define electrical requirements and develop solutions on a wide variety of projects.
- Act as the owner’s representative to external consultants, contractors, and government agencies.
- Manage electrical utility construction activities for test stand facilities, including developing conceptual drawings/designs, requests for proposals, competitive bidding, bid evaluations, subcontractor selection, and subcontractor management for Stennis Space Center sites and other facilities across Relativity’s real estate portfolio.
- Maintain and troubleshoot the existing electrical distribution system, including developing maintenance and testing procedures for all AC power distribution equipment.
- Lead the design of electrical distribution systems for the Terran R and A2 test complexes.
- Manage day-to-day construction activities in coordination with the project manager for the Terran R test complex.
- Oversee commissioning and maintenance of systems and equipment.
- Support and troubleshoot AC power requests for Stennis Space Center facilities.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working on electrical power systems.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 (NEC).
- Experience in at least one of the following areas: analysis/design, hands-on field work, project management, or project execution.
Nice to Haves (Not Required):
- Experience with the design and operation of aerospace test infrastructure.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Background in construction, commissioning, operations, troubleshooting, or maintenance of low-voltage power systems.
- Experience with electrical distribution design, hazard classification, single-line diagrams, breaker coordination, arc flash analysis, bid solicitation, contractor selection, construction management, permitting, and QA/QC.
- Engineering Intern (EI) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification in Power.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or Bluebeam.
- Experience with electrical power system analysis software (preferably EasyPower).
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E or NESC.
- Experience purchasing electrical hardware and materials.

About the Role:
- Oversight: Conduct in-process and final inspections of propulsion components, stage assemblies, and integrated hardware using precision measurement tools, CAD models, engineering drawings, process specifications, and work instructions.
- Processes: Review hardware requirements and determine acceptance status based on defined criteria. Document inspection results, including any nonconformances or deviations. Perform foreign object debris (FOD) inspections, hardware status tracking, and system walkdowns of engine and stage assemblies.
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance during in-process work to support adherence to company and applicable industry standards.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Test Operations, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to support program goals. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Analysis: Perform inspections to identify issues and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
About You:
- 4+ years of experience as a Quality Inspector in aerospace, aviation, or a related industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with in-process inspections, precision measurement techniques, and inspection tools
- Ability to follow established standards and procedures
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. unassisted and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to perform job duties that may include lifting, standing, bending, or working in confined spaces, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Willingness to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and occasional travel, as needed.
Nice to haves but not required:
- Experience with structural, airframe, or large assembly inspections
- Background in aviation maintenance, aircraft inspection, or related quality roles
- Experience with quality management systems such as AS9100 or ISO 9001
- Familiarity with tools such as NX, Teamcenter, LN, or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
- Proficiency with standard computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)

About the Role:
As a Propulsion Test Engineer II, you will be responsible for designing and operating rocket engine test stands for our Terran R engines and stages. Engineers at our Stennis facility work within a team of engineers and technicians to build and modify test facilities, as well as participate in test campaigns to flight qualify our hardware. You will be directly engaged in daily test operations, maintenance, construction, and commissioning activities in the field. The engineer II role may include aspects of both designing ground systems [Design focus] and conducting test operations [Operations focus], possibly both.
[Design focus]
- Design advanced propulsion test stands including 3D modeling, fluids, structural, and thermal analysis, fabrication drawings, fluids P&IDs, component lists, and detailed work instructions
- Supervise the construction, commissioning, and initial operations of these facilities
- Solve a variety of technical problems, across broad ranges of timeframe, complexity, cost, and long-term impact
- Support operations on and perform related improvements to existing test stands
[Operations focus]
- Create, modify, and optimize test sequences, procedures, and data review processes
- Conduct complex propulsion test operations to assess performance of rocket engines and stages
- Directly control and receive telemetry from the test stand and test articles through GUIs and an integrated software suite for control, automation, and data visualization
- Help develop new rocket engine propulsion designs based on real test data
- Potentially travel to production and launch locations, up to 25%
About You:

About the Role:
As a Propulsion Test Technician, you will perform functions in daily test operations supporting engine testing, building of new test stand facilities, and modifying existing test stands.
- Perform the installation, operational checkouts, troubleshooting, and maintenance of test stand equipment and hardware
- Fabrication, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fluid system tubing and hardware
- Assemble, install, checkout, and maintain a wide array of components that include sensors for fluid system monitoring
- Proactively perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions
- Disassembly and precision cleaning of valves, regulators, and other components
- Monitor and maintain an inventory of consumables, tooling, and equipment
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs unassisted
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces
- This position will require occasional night shifts, weekends and possible travel
About You:
Basic experience in medium to heavy industrial maintenance, instrumentation, data and control systems, avionics hardware, and/or mechanical systems OR Associates degree in related mechanical of electrical technical discipline. Each technician has a primary focus area: mechanical or instrumentation. Below are skills needed for all technicians as well as skills necessary for each focus area.
- Ability to operate a wide range of hand and power tools for fabrication operations

- Experience with fluid/pneumatic systems and their components
- Experience with mechanical components and their systems
- Instrumentation:
- Experience with electronic circuits and sensor types used to measure temperature, pressure, flow, displacement, and vibration
- Experience with electronic test equipment, e.g. oscilloscopes, signal generators, and/or multi-meters
Nice to haves but not required:
- Experience operating industrial warehouse equipment
- Operational understanding of sensor types used to measure temperature, pressure, flow, and displacement
- Experience installing and making repairs to instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and/or avionics systems

About the Team:
The Stennis team at Relativity Space is responsible for designing, building, and operating world-class test stands to support the Terran R stages, engines, and propulsion components. As part of this team, you will help build and operate massive outdoor test stands at the historic Stennis Space Center on the Gulf Coast, the largest rocket engine test complex in the country. Unique to this location, you will have the opportunity to get hands-on the fully integrated engine and stage assemblies, push the hardware to the limits, and witness rocket engines firing up close and personal! This team was critical to the launch success of Terran 1, among many other firsts!
About the Role:
- Design, integrate, and test acquisition hardware, instrumentation, and cameras used to support and control our Terran R rocket test stands
- Beckhoff PLCs or similar
- Pressure, temperatures, flow, level, accelerometers, solenoid valves, VFDs, heaters, etc..
- IP, SDI, and CoaXPress cameras
- Design and maintain electrical systems for use in hazardous areas
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers and technicians to support and execute projects.
About You:
- Bachelors in either Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related engineering discipline
- Demonstrated electrical engineering fundamental knowledge and minimum of 3 years years of experience in a related field
- Demonstrated capability in completing a complex project, coordinating with others and meeting deadlines.
Nice to haves but not required:
- Familiarity with data and control systems (SCADA, PLC’s, NI, Beckhoff, etc.)
- Familiar with integrating sensors and actuators such as pressure transducers, RTDs, strain gages, thermocouples, solenoid valves, accelerometers, microphones, etc.
- Familiar with communications methods such as Ethernet, EtherCAT, CAN, and Modbus.

About the Role:
As a Mechanical Engineer II, you will be responsible for designing and operating rocket engine test stands for our Terran R engines and stages. Engineers at our Stennis facility work within a team of engineers and technicians to build and modify test facilities, as well as participate in test campaigns to flight qualify our hardware. You will be directly engaged in daily test operations, maintenance, construction, and commissioning activities in the field. The engineer II role may include aspects of both designing ground systems [Design focus] and conducting test operations [Operations focus], possibly both. This position will be titled Propulsion Test Engineer II within the organization.
[Design focus]
- Design advanced propulsion test stands including 3D modeling, fluids, structural, and thermal analysis, fabrication drawings, fluids P&IDs, component lists, and detailed work instructions
- Supervise the construction, commissioning, and initial operations of these facilities
- Solve a variety of technical problems, across broad ranges of timeframe, complexity, cost, and long-term impact
- Support operations on and perform related improvements to existing test stands
[Operations focus]
- Create, modify, and optimize test sequences, procedures, and data review processes
- Conduct complex propulsion test operations to assess performance of rocket engines and stages
- Directly control and receive telemetry from the test stand and test articles through GUIs and an integrated software suite for control, automation, and data visualization
- Help develop new rocket engine propulsion designs based on real test data
- Potentially travel to production and launch locations, up to 25%
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field

About the Role:
- Ensure accurate tracking and delivery of parts, kits, and assemblies from inventory to propulsion technicians at multiple workcenters
- Fill and maintain floor stock for common parts, tooling, and consumables across multiple workcenters
- Provide feedback on work instructions and Bills of Materials (BoMs) to ensure accuracy for flight-critical parts
- Establish new part flows for workcenters and apply consistent standards both locally and company-wide
- Work closely with engineering, technicians, inventory, and planning to resolve part shortages, improve efficiency, and minimize delays
About You:
- 2+ years experience as a Production Coordinator or similar role
- 2+ years experience using ERP, MES, and/or WMS software
- Experience working in a dynamic, ambiguous environment with shifting priorities
- Strong computer literacy; able to quickly learn new software platforms
- Highly organized, responsive, and capable of driving consistency across sites
- Willingness to travel up to 10% to production and launch sites
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs unassisted
- Flexible schedule with ability to work overtime, non-standard shifts, and adjust as needed to meet company goals
- Ability to perform lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying as part of regular job functions
- Willingness to work in extreme outdoor environments, including heat, cold, wind, and rain
