As a Machine Learning Engineer on the Support Experience team, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing our self-serve support experiences. You will be responsible for designing, building, training, evaluating, deploying, and owning ML models in production. For example, we apply LLMs to answer user questions with conversational agents and personalize product documentation, and are building automated systems to solve complex user problems. You will work closely with software engineers, machine learning engineers, product managers, and data scientists to operate Stripe’s ML powered systems, features, and products. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to and influence ML architecture at Stripe and be a part of a larger ML community.

Minimum requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in ML/AI or related field (e.g. math, physics, statistics)
• 3+ years in AI/ML and backend engineering, including building and operating production ML systems at global scale with stringent SLOs—balancing reliability, latency, and cost—with privacy, security, and compliance by design.
• Deep and up-to-date applied LLM experience: RAG/embeddings, tool use/function calling, agentic planning/orchestration architectures, post-training methods, code generation, benchmarks and evaluations, etc. Familiarity with classical ML methods and common frameworks e.g. Pytorch, TensorFlow.

• Own technical strategy — Define the architecture for Identity's core systems (Identity Store, headless verification platform, fraud detection infrastructure), make build-vs-buy-vs-partner decisions, and surface technical risks before they become customer-facing failures
• Lead 0-1 platform development — Architect net-new systems including the Identity Store, Networked Identity platform, and advanced fraud detection pipeline (behavioral biometrics, deepfake discriminators, adversarial training). Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a suite of internal support tooling for TSE and Stripe Support more broadly e.g. a retrieval augmented generation LLM-based Copilot tool or the Invoice Explainer Admin tool.

Your expertise would be critical during commissioning, orbit raising, routine operations, and potentially re-entry phases, ensuring the health and safety of Rocket Lab’s expanding fleet. The Spacecraft Operations team works closely with related teams, such as spacecraft design, AIT, flight software, propulsion, GNC, flight dynamics and ground software development to help improve both the ground and satellite-based capabilities over time.

Role

We are looking for a Senior Threat Researcher to join our Threat Detection Group within ThreatLabz. This is Hybrid role, reporting to a leader in ThreatLabz Team . You will track the evolving threat landscape, analysing emerging threats and identifying TTPs to develop critical detection and protection signatures. As part of our world-class research arm, you will ensure millions of global users remain protected through advanced malware research and behavioural analysis.

What you’ll do (Role Expectations)

• Analyse browser-based threats, including HTML smuggling and phishing, to develop robust protections

• Research vulnerabilities across OWASP, Web API, and LLM Top 10 to author prevention signatures

• Conduct static and dynamic malware analysis to mitigate emerging threats and C2 frameworks

• Develop complex automation tools and prototypes to integrate research findings into Zscaler products

• Contribute to the global security community by publishing in-depth threat analysis blogs and research papers

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

• 2+ years of dedicated experience in Cyber Security Research with expertise in web attack and DOM/JS analysis

• Proficiency in browser security and analysing/deconstructing payloads within browser environments

• Hands-on experience with malware debugging and reverse engineering using tools like IDA, x64dbg, or Ollydbg

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, Application layer protocols, and vulnerabilities across OWASP and LLM Top 10

• Experience with automation scripting in Python, Ruby, Go, or Shell to synthesise threat intelligence

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Professional security certifications such as OSCP or specialised degrees in Computer Science or Information Technology

• Proven ability to implement AI-powered automation and leverage GenAI models for threat research

• Advanced reverse engineering experience specifically related to file-less threats and complex exploit techniques
