Technology Audit and Governance - Assistant Vice President
About the Role
iCapital is looking to hire an Assistant Vice President Technology Audit and Governance Engineer. This role will work closely with the Head of SDLC Governance and Internal Audit and various technology teams in governing the firm-wide SDLC and implementing, governing, and monitoring compliance of varied controls and policies, including providing support for the annual SOC 2 audit. In addition, the ideal candidate will share responsibility for performing administrative functions on Jira including user support.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and perform internal audits of SOC 2 controls and policy compliance.
- Assist with governance of SDLC processes and associated tool configurations.
- Create and maintain documentation for processes followed and tools used.
- Develop, implement, and maintain SGIA processes.
- Support the annual SOC 2 audit.
- Assist with the administration of Jira and provide user support.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of technology operations experience
- Familiar with modern programming languages and frameworks, preferably Python.
- Technical leadership and management experience is a plus
- Familiar with cloud-based technologies (i.e. AWS, K8s, etc.)
- Able to work independently or as part of a team effort, as required
- Experience with Python Scripting, GitLab, Git, Jira Administration, Vanta or other compliance monitoring tools, SOC 2 audits, controls testing or auditing, the automation of processes and SQL or MongoDB Query language
- Solid problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Benefits

Responsibilities

- 3+ years of experience with DevSecOps tools, including SAST tools, DAST tools, and SCA tools
- Microservices (Docker, Kubernetes) experience in a production environment is strongly desired
- Strong Linux OS-level and command-line and scripting knowledge and configuration management principles
- Working knowledge of databases such as MongoDB, Postgres, and DynamoDB

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate MLOps pipelines supporting the full ML lifecycle (training, validation, deployment, monitoring).

- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerized workloads, and cloud networking.

The Platform Infrastructure team at iCapital is responsible for designing, standardizing, and evolving the core infrastructure that powers our global technology stack. As Vice President, Platform Infrastructure Architecture, you will serve as a senior individual contributor architect, helping define and evolve the technical standards that underpin our Kubernetes platforms, cloud networking, edge services, and API access patterns.
This role is architecture-first, with regular hands-on involvement to validate designs through reference implementations and proof-of-concept project work . You will work closely with Platform Infrastructure engineers and application teams to ensure that platform capabilities are scalable, secure, and consistent across regions, while remaining practical to operate.
Responsibilities
- Evolve platform architecture standards across core infrastructure domains.
- Design and validate Kubernetes platform architecture, including cluster lifecycle, autoscaling strategies, node provisioning, and OS standards (e.g., EKS, Karpenter, Bottlerocket).
- Define cloud networking architecture patterns, including VPC design, routing, ingress/egress, TGW design and private connectivity.
- Own architectural guidance for edge and traffic management, including CDN, DNS, and TLS strategies (e.g., Akamai, Cloudflare).
- Define and standardize API Gateway and north south access patterns for secure and consistent service exposure.
- Establish and maintain multi account and multi cluster architecture standards supporting scale, isolation, and operational clarity.
- Produce and maintain reference architectures, design documents, and architectural guardrails consumed by Platform Infrastructure engineers and application teams.
- Review proposed platform designs and changes to ensure alignment with long term architecture strategy.
- Stay hands on through proof of concepts, reference implementations, and technical deep dives to validate architectural decisions.

- Define, implement, and iterate service level objectives (SLOs) and service level indicators (SLIs) that reflect customer and business expectations.

- Proven ability to design and implement observability solutions that produce actionable insights while reducing alert fatigue and operational noise.
- Strong IaC skills (Terraform preferred) and the ability to build reusable automation and standards (monitoring as code, configuration patterns).
- Familiarity with common data stores and managed services (e.g., Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB) and how they fail in distributed systems.
- Experience with at least two observability stacks (Prometheus/Grafana, New Relic, Splunk, CloudWatch, ELK, etc.) and driving standardization across them.

- Strong debugging skills across distributed systems and production environments, including performance and reliability investigations.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence engineering teams through standards, tooling, and practical guidance.
Employees in this role will work fully remote. Every department has different needs, and some positions will be designated in-office jobs, based on their function.
