This pivotal role drives the design and implementation of high-value features and the foundational Error-Reporting/Backtrace platform. As a Staff Software Engineer on the Content Creation team, you will be at the forefront of real time applications within Box. The Content Creation owns Notes and Canvas products of Box's platform. The functionality that this team builds is used by our largest cohorts of users (versus just admin users). We’re looking for a Portfolio Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team in Poland.
A core part of Addepar’s business relies on us being able to quickly and correctly ingest data from a variety of sources, including 3rd party data providers, custodial banks, data APIs, and even direct user input. The data engineers on the Portfolio Data Engineering team help build and maintain the transformation and cleaning steps of our ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipeline before it can be stored and accessed by our customers in a standardized fashion. As a data engineer on this team, you’ll be building components within the ETL pipeline that automate these cleaning and transformation steps. As you gain more experience, you’ll contribute to increasingly challenging engineering projects within our broader data infrastructure.

The Role — Interstellar Squad
The Interstellar Squad owns a core part of our commercial platform: the billing run — a mission-critical, high-volume pipeline that turns large-scale usage data into timely, accurate invoices for customers worldwide. It's a technically rich domain: distributed data processing, event-driven workflows, financial correctness, and operational reliability at scale.
We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer to set the technical direction for Interstellar, raise the engineering bar across the squad, and guide delivery of a platform that has to stay correct, predictable and scalable as the business grows.
A central part of this role is leading the gradual modernisation of a mature platform into a set of focused, TypeScript-based domain services — using a strangler-fig approach to extract capabilities incrementally, keeping the existing system safe and our customers unaffected while we evolve the architecture.
You'll report to an Engineering Manager and partner closely with the Product Manager, Delivery Manager and engineers in the squad, as well as peer Leads across the domain. The Deal Reporting team is responsible for building our critical capital partner integrations, as well as services to automate funding processes safely and reliably. We partner with Product and Capitals Markets teams to understand and implement complex financial structures, integrations and reporting. We are looking for a highly motivated Staff Software Engineer to help empower Deal Reporting's first international team, and build integrations, services, and testing infrastructure to power the funding of every Affirm loan.
What You'll Do:
· You will be responsible for setting technical strategy for your team on a year-long time scale, and help your team tie it together with critical, business-impacting projects.
· You will collaborate across teams in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design & analytics to ensure technical sustainability, risks and trade-offs are well understood and managed.
· You will act as a force-multiplier for your team through your definition and advocacy of technical solutions and operational processes.
· You take ownership of your team’s operations and availability by ensuring you have the right monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, polcities, testing and alerting in place to support “keep the lights on” & on-call efforts.
· You will foster a culture of quality and ownership on your team by setting code review and design standards for your team, and advocating for them beyond your team through your writing and tech talks.
· You will help develop talent on your team by providing feedback and guidance, and leading by example.
What We Look For:
· You have 7+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin.
· You have an extensive track record of developing highly available distributed systems using technologies like AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
· Knowledge of Spark and it’s inner workings is a must.
· Knowledge on task orchestration systems like Airflow or Temporal is a good to have.
· You have experience delivering major features, system components or deprecating existing functionality in a system through the definition of a technical and execution plan. You write high quality code that is easily understood and used by others.
· You thrive in ambiguity, and are comfortable moving from low level language idioms all the way to the architecture of large systems to understand how they work.
· Your growth and impact trajectory demonstrates that you have mastered gathering and iterating on feedback from your engineering and cross-functional peers.
· You have strong verbal and written communication skills that support effective collaboration with our global engineering team.

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.
Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents). In addition, the employees may be eligible for equity rewards offered by Affirm Holdings, Inc. (parent company).
POL base pay range per year: 358,000 zł - 458,000 zł
