• Develop features that integrate Cribl’s data stream processing engine with data systems such as Splunk, Elastic Search, Kafka, AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage.
• Rapidly develop subject matter expertise in a diverse set of 3rd  party technologies by provisioning, building, and configuring all systems and/or accounts necessary to facilitate the R&D process.

As a fully remote position reporting to the Engineering organization, your leadership will play a pivotal role in ensuring both technical excellence and team growth. Your primary responsibilities will include providing mentorship, driving project execution, and removing obstacles that may hinder progress.

This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring deep collaboration with developers, participation in design and requirements discussions, and regular engagement with the latest builds. You’ll be expected to become an expert in your team’s products and services, offering technical insights and strategic direction.

• Proven experience leading distributed engineering teams with a focus on collaboration and effective delivery.
• Strong technical expertise in designing and building scalable, distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience in developing high-scale data streaming systems.
• Background in building and deploying software within a SaaS environment.
• Demonstrated ability to hire, train, and mentor high-performing engineers, supporting all stages of software development and maintenance.
• Experience leading remote teams in a dynamic, Agile environment is a significant advantage.
• Comfortable working directly with customers to troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate on feature enhancements.
• Track record of establishing and promoting strong engineering practices and processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, with 10+ years of industry experience.
• At least 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership role as a team lead or engineering manager.
• Ideal for candidates seeking to transition into a managerial role while maintaining a strong technical foundation.

Salary Range ($200,000 - $300,000)

The salary for this role is dependent on geographic location. You will join a team of Engineers who are committed to shipping only high-quality software and enjoying all the goat gifs the internet has to offer. This role is remote and you will be part of the Engineering productivity team, where you will contribute to our goal of building the best Engineering toolchain in existence.

Our Engineering Productivity team sits within the Infrastructure and SRE org, whose charter is to deliver robust, reliable, and secure services to ensure Cribl Engineering & customer success.

• Develop and implement processes and systems to improve productivity and efficiency across the organization
• Conduct data analysis and design experiments to test and validate proposed solutions

• Experience with containers and container orchestration.
