The Sales & Service Manager is a member of the store leadership team who deals with ALO’s business and guest experience strategy to life in store. This individual is passionate about business targets, sales, guest experience, and elevating talent to meet ALO’s guiding principles. Overview

Instacart’s Connected Stores organization is building the operating system for brick-and-mortar grocery. The In-Store Platform team creates the APIs, data pipelines, and foundational integrations that power products like Caper carts, Foodstorm’s catering software, Carrot Tags, and the next wave of AI-driven store intelligence.

As the Senior Product Manager for In-Store Integrations, you will architect the data foundations that determine who wins the in-store technology race. You’ll define and deliver the core connections between retailers and Instacart’s product suite — integrations that unlock reliable, real-time access to transaction, inventory, loyalty, coupon, and other critical data streams at scale. 

The role has a key focus on artificial intelligence, which will need to be brought to bear on otherwise-intractable problems in the brick-and-mortar space. Here, especially, data foundations are crucial: even the most capable models are utterly dependent on the data available to them. 

This is high-stakes, first-of-its-kind work. Our in-store products cannot succeed without the integrations you lead. You’ll partner closely with Engineering, Partnerships, Enterprise Solutions, Solution Architects, and external retail technology providers to ship new integration archetypes, scale repeatable playbooks, and launch Store Intelligence capabilities that will shape grocery for the next decade. ROLE OVERVIEW 

As Payroll & Accounts Payable Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of payroll and accounts payable operations across Canada and the United States. 

Sitting within the Finance team, this role is responsible for overseeing payroll processing and full-cycle accounts payable operations, ensuring compliance, strong internal controls, and operational excellence. You will partner closely with People & Culture, department leaders, and external vendors to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, and vendors are paid in accordance with contractual terms.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

Payroll Management (Canada & USA) 

• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing in partnership with People & Culture and external payroll providers (e.g., ADP, Gusto). 
• Review and approve payroll inputs, including new hires, compensation changes, bonuses, terminations, and leave adjustments. 
• Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in compliance with federal, provincial/state, and local regulations. 
• Lead payroll reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end payroll reporting. 
• Ensure remittances (taxes, CPP, EI, 401K, benefits premiums, garnishments, etc.) are processed accurately and on time. 
• Own payroll compliance, documentation, audit support, and reporting requirements. 
• Continuously improve payroll processes, controls, and documentation to enhance accuracy and scalability. 
• Partner with People & Culture to ensure proper segregation of duties and data integrity across systems. 

Accounts Payable Management 

• Oversee full-cycle accounts payable operations across the organization. 
• Manage vendor onboarding, including documentation, payment terms, and compliance requirements. 
• Review and approve invoices for accuracy, coding, proper authorization, and alignment with budgets and contracts. 
• Ensure timely processing of payments (EFT, wire, credit card, cheque) in accordance with established terms. 
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. 
• Oversee expense management processes, including employee reimbursements and corporate credit card reconciliations. 
• Maintain accurate AP records and ensure appropriate documentation for audit readiness. 
• Drive continuous improvement in AP workflows, automation, and internal controls. 

Financial Controls & Reporting 

• Maintain strong internal controls across payroll and AP processes. 
• Prepare supporting schedules for month-end and year-end close. 
• Assist with external audits and compliance reviews as required. 
• Partner with Finance leadership to provide payroll and AP reporting insights, forecasts, and accruals. 
• Identify risks and implement process enhancements to ensure operational integrity and compliance. 

Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration 

• Act as the primary point of contact for payroll and AP inquiries. 
• Partner closely with People & Culture on compensation updates, benefits deductions, and leave adjustments. 
• Collaborate with department leaders to ensure timely invoice approvals and budget alignment. 
• Support and mentor junior team members (if applicable), fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement. 

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS 

• 5+ years of progressive experience in payroll and accounts payable
• Hands-on experience managing Canadian payroll; U.S. payroll experience strongly preferred. 
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, statutory deductions, and remittance requirements across Canada (U.S. knowledge an asset). 
• Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Gusto) and accounting/ERP platforms. 
• Strong understanding of full-cycle accounts payable processes and internal controls.

Overview

The Enterprise AI Pod is a forward-deployed, field-first unit within Instacart's Enterprise Solutions team — purpose-built to take the Instacart Intelligence Platform to market with B2B retail and CPG partners. As an AI Field Consultant, you bring the deep vertical expertise in grocery retail and CPG that makes the pod credible in the field — earning trust at every level of a partner organization, from analyst to executive, and translating what you hear into AI use cases R&D can build and partners will actually adopt. This is a small, senior, cross-functional pod operating at the intersection of discovery, co-creation, and change management — early, defining the playbook as we go, and looking for people who are energized by that.

About the Job 

• Be the domain credibility of the pod. You know grocery retail and CPG — merchandising, supply chain, store ops, trade, e-commerce — well enough to walk into any room at any level and earn it immediately. As the pod scales, you'll deepen into a vertical and become Instacart's sharpest expert in that space.
• Get to the real problem. Embed with partner teams to identify where agentic AI will actually move the business — not just what's technically possible, but what will change how operators work day to day. Translate those problems into AI-solvable use cases the pod can build against.
• Lead discovery and requirements. Run structured workshops at partner sites, surface and prioritize the use case map, and turn field learnings into clear inputs for the pod and R&D. You're the bridge between what partners need and what gets built.
• Show, don't just tell. Lead hands-on demos and platform walkthroughs tailored to the partner's specific workflows — making abstract AI capability concrete and compelling in the room. The ability to demonstrate the art of the possible is as important as the ability to articulate it.
• Own adoption. Drive the change management that makes deployments stick — new operating cadences, workflow redesigns, user training. Success is measured by whether team behavior changes, not whether software ships.

About You

Minimum Qualifications

• 10+ years of layered experience — vertical industry expertise inside grocery retail or CPG, B2B consulting experience translating domain knowledge into business solutions, and ideally time at a technology or AI company where you've seen how platforms are built and sold.
• Deep domain fluency across at least one grocery vertical — merchandising, supply chain, store ops, ecommerce, trade marketing, or CPG — sufficient to earn the trust of a category manager, VP of supply chain, or CPG trade lead from the first conversation.
• Demonstrated ability to run consultative discovery with senior enterprise stakeholders and translate findings into clear, structured requirements.
• Experience leading organizational change management — training, workflow redesign, and embedding new operating cadences with business teams.
• Exceptional communication and executive presence — comfortable presenting to C-suite and operational audiences alike, with comfort operating in ambiguous, greenfield environments.
• Proficiency in BI and analytics tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI) and workshop facilitation tools (Miro, Lucidspark) — you need to know what you're displacing or augmenting and how to map what replaces it.

The Role

You know the craft of selling deeply: how to open doors, generate pipeline, position value competitively, and close with precision. You lead from the front, developing your team through active engagement — not from the sidelines.

You will be the driving force behind a disciplined, insight-led sales motion that blends in-person selling with proactive outbound strategy. Your leadership will elevate both the quality and velocity of revenue while shaping a culture rooted in excellence, ownership, and growth.

You will:

• Lead with expertise in the field

• Develop Territory Account Executives through active, in-market coaching — from sourcing and opening conversations to consultative discovery, competitive positioning, and closing with clarity.
• Model world-class selling by joining prospect and customer meetings, demonstrating product fluency, value articulation, and decisive deal strategy.
• Spend significant time in the field with your team, strengthening local relationships, fueling community-driven pipeline creation, and ensuring sellers experience Square through a human, product-driven presence.

• Operate in the details

• Manage pipeline and KPIs with rigor — diagnosing gaps, identifying risks, expanding coverage, and guiding AEs to create and progress high-quality opportunities.
• Run disciplined weekly pipeline, forecast, and deal reviews that drive action, accountability, and predictable outcomes across multiple markets.
• Use data-backed insights to coach AE effectiveness, elevate sales execution, and ensure consistent momentum across high-velocity, complex sales cycles.

• Build a high-performance, high-accountability culture

• Create an environment defined by trust, clear expectations, ownership, and open communication.
• Hold the team to a high bar of execution while providing the clarity, structure, and hands-on coaching needed to meet it.
• Hire, onboard, and develop AEs to ramp quickly, deepen product expertise, and consistently exceed quota.
