RESPONSIBILITIES:

Site Maintenance & Reliability

• Own the day-to-day technical health of iconbuild.com — monitoring for bugs, broken links, rendering issues, and performance degradation across browsers and devices.
• Triage and resolve site issues quickly, with clear communication to stakeholders on status and resolution timelines.
• Manage CMS updates, plugin/dependency maintenance, and platform upgrades with minimal disruption to the live site.
• Implement and maintain backup, version control, and staging environment best practices to ensure safe, reliable deployments.

Development & Feature Builds

• Build and maintain new pages, templates, modules, and interactive features that support marketing campaigns, product launches, and brand initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with design and marketing teams to translate Figma mockups and creative briefs into pixel-accurate, responsive web experiences.
• Develop and maintain reusable component libraries and front-end systems that scale with the site's growth.
• Integrate third-party tools and APIs — including CRM platforms, analytics tools, form builders, chat, and marketing automation — and ensure they function reliably.

Performance & Optimization

• Continuously audit and improve site speed, Core Web Vitals, and overall technical SEO health.
• Optimize assets (images, scripts, fonts) and implement caching, lazy loading, and other performance best practices.
• Partner with the SEO and content team to implement on-page technical requirements — structured data, meta tags, canonical URLs, redirects, and site architecture improvements.

Analytics, Tracking & Data Dashboards

• Implement and maintain a robust tracking infrastructure across iconbuild.com — including Google Tag Manager, GA4, pixel integrations, conversion event tracking, and custom event configurations.
• Own the setup, QA, and ongoing maintenance of GA4 properties — including data streams, audiences, attribution models, and funnel reporting — ensuring data accuracy across all campaigns and pages.
• Build and maintain master dashboards that synthesize website data into clear, actionable views for marketing, sales, and leadership — pulling from sources such as GA4, HubSpot, Search Console, paid media platforms, and CRM data.
• Design dashboard reporting frameworks that surface key metrics including traffic, engagement, lead funnel performance, conversion rates, campaign attribution, and customer journey mapping.

Backend & Engineering Support

• During downtime from web priorities, contribute directly to ICON's software and engineering team. supporting backend bug fixes, internal tool maintenance, API troubleshooting, and software QA.
• Assist engineering with code reviews, documentation, and minor feature development as capacity allows.
• Serve as a reliable bridge between marketing and engineering. We’re looking for someone who understands both worlds and can communicate fluidly across them.
• Help triage and escalate software issues, translating between technical and non-technical stakeholders as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Serve as the primary technical partner for the marketing team, translating requests, scoping work accurately, and delivering on time.
• Collaborate with external agencies, contractors, or the broader engineering team as needed on larger initiatives.
• Document site architecture, code standards, and processes to ensure maintainability and continuity across both marketing and engineering touchpoints.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3 or more years of professional web development experience with a strong portfolio of production websites, ideally in a marketing or brand-forward environment.

• Solid experience with at least one major CMS platform, Webflow preferred, including custom theme and template development.

Compensation Disclosure
The anticipated base salary for this position is $141,000 and $161,000 based on the Los Angeles market. WHAT YOU'LL DO

This is the first design engineer role at Braze. You'd be joining the Beacon team to help close the gap between where the system is today and where it needs to be.

This is a senior individual contributor role operating at the intersection of design and code. You have strong design craft judgment and a clear point of view on what good looks like. You can originate design positions and you can write production code like components, tokens, or accessibility fixes. You'll contribute hands-on while driving adoption, mentoring designers, and raising the bar for system-level design craft, accessibility, and implementation quality across the UX organization.

You'll also help future-proof our design system by thinking about it not only as a resource for human collaborators, but as structured context for automated and AI-assisted workflows. This means designing its architecture, naming conventions, and documentation so that tooling, CLI interfaces, and AI agents can consume it reliably and without ambiguity.

• Own the design and technical direction of Beacon in close partnership with Engineering, defining what good looks like across interaction patterns, component behavior, and shared UX foundations

What You’ll Actually Do

Role Summary 

As a Principal UX Designer at Upshop, you will own the evolution of our Design Platform and Design System while acting as both a senior craft practitioner and mentor to the design organization. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a platform-minded design leader, partnering with other PMs to shape and operationalize Upshop 360 platform across all product suites. You will shape direction through hands-on contribution and thoughtful influence, helping the team make decisions confidently in ambiguity and complexity.  

You are a player-coach: a strategic thinker who leads by doing, builds with your hands, and elevates others’ work through mentorship and example. You will help define the future of Upshop’s design ecosystem — from foundational components to interaction patterns and scalable UX paradigms — ensuring consistency, coherence, and quality across products.  

This role requires a strong blend of senior UX craft, systems thinking, advanced prototyping, cross-functional influence, and coaching experience. 

What You’ll Do 

Design Platform & System Leadership 

• Own and evolve the Upshop Design Platform and System: components, guidelines, interaction language, motion principles, and shared patterns.  

• Partner with engineering to ensure consistency, scalability, performance, and technical feasibility at platform scale.  

• Define and document standards for how design is expressed across products — from tokens to complex state behaviors.  

• Advocate for accessibility, performance, and inclusive design across the system. 

Hands-On UX & Interaction Craft 

• Create and iterate high-fidelity prototypes, interaction models, and design artifacts that clarify intent and drive alignment. 

• Use prototypes as a primary language for exploration, communication, and decision-making. 

• Translate research insights, user data, and business goals into elegant, scalable solutions.  

Player-Coach Leadership 

• Serve as a mentor and coach: provide regular design critique, career guidance, and hands-on support for more junior designers. 

• Lead and facilitate cross-disciplinary workshops to solve complex UX challenges collaboratively 

• Elevate team craft through shared best practices, tooling improvements, and patterns for reuse. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

• Partner deeply with Product, Engineering, and Brand teams to shape outcomes that balance user needs with business strategy. 

• Influence product direction through strategic reasoning and exceptional design judgment

Qualifications 

Experience 

•  7+ years of UX / product design experience with a strong portfolio of work that demonstrates both strategic depth and craft excellence. 

• Experience creating and scaling design systems or shared UX platforms in complex multi-product portfolios across different medium (web, tablet, mobile)  

• Proven track record of mentoring designers and elevating team quality. 

Skills & Expertise 

• Hands-on design fluency: end-to-end interaction design, advanced prototyping (Figma), motion where applicable.  

• Deep systems thinking: ability to decompose and organize design patterns that scale across products and teams. 

• Excellent communication: ability to articulate decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences. 

• Comfort working with engineering on implementation patterns, constraints, and performance realities. 

• Strong understanding of user-centered design, accessibility, and usability best practices.  

• Experience contributing code to UI component libraries: React, Tailwind, Design Tokens, shadcn, CSS-in-JS; able to meaningfully engage on component structure and implementation quality. 

• Familiarity with analytics data used to inform design decisions 

• Experience in high-growth SaaS or platform organizations

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:
