The person in this role will leverage their technical skills, business intuition, and analytical thinking to build best-in-class machine learning products. The Taiwan Data, Analytics & AI team is the engine driving Coupang’s rapid expansion in the Taiwan market. What You’ll Be Doing
As a Lead ML Engineer in the Data Science team, you will work closely with the engineering, product, and operations teams to build state-of- the-art ML based solutions for B2B SaaS products. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Strategic Technical Advisor to spearhead the growth and operational excellence of our dedicated technical delivery and enablement function focused exclusively on our strategic customer. Crucially, this Hub operates as a key component of the larger Strategic Program organization dedicated to this customer.
This is a foundational role in a high-potential environment, as the Hub team will grow from an initial 6 technical resources to approximately 20 by the end of the year.

The role requires a strong dual focus: Team Leadership and Technical Oversight. The Role
We are looking for an elite engineer who builds like a hacker and communicates like a consultant. You will not just be building models in a notebook; you will be deployed to the front lines to build, architect, and ship end-to-end Agentic AI products directly for our most strategic customers.
This is a high-stakes role. You will face "tricky" customers who have vague requirements and high expectations. Your job is to translate their chaos into technical order, write production-grade code, and deploy autonomous agents that solve their actual business problems.
What You Will Do
Design and ship full-stack AI applications. You own the pipeline from data ingestion to the LLM inference layer to the frontend interface.
Architect autonomous agentic workflows (using frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or custom implementations) that can reason, plan, and execute complex tasks.
Write robust, clean, and highly testable code (Python/Typescript). "It works on my machine" is not acceptable; it must work in the customer's restricted cloud environment.
Handle DevOps and MLOps constraints: Dockerizing agents, managing Kubernetes clusters, and optimizing inference latency.
Serve as the technical face of the company for our most demanding accounts.
Navigate complex stakeholder environments. You will push back on unrealistic demands, clarify ambiguous requirements, and steer "tricky" customers toward technically feasible solutions without breaking rapport.

You’ll also build the resilient control layer - MCP and the LLM Gateway - that enables safe, cost‑efficient, multi‑provider LLM usage. Finally, you’ll define the standards for building, evaluating, deploying, and governing agentic systems so product teams can ship AI features quickly, safely, and at scale. In addition to enabling agentic systems powered by LLMs, this role also drives building the platform for classical ML models driving optimization across dealership operations.
