Customer-Facing Excellence: Define standards for professional conduct in client interactions, ensuring the team clearly communicates technical concepts and understands customer needs.
Stakeholder Communication: Ensure accurate and timely communication of progress, risks, and findings to internal and client leadership, translating technical insights into business outcomes.
Continuous Improvement: Lead retrospectives and lessons-learned sessions to improve delivery processes and performance.
Mentorship & Career Development: Guide technical team members on career growth, technical skills, and client engagement best practices.
Solution Delivery Guidance: Provide direction on technical methodologies including solution design documentation, code quality, and data modeling standards to ensure rigorous and high-quality delivery.

Customer Feedback & Improvement: Analyze feedback (CSAT, NPS) and implement improvements in tools, processes, and methodologies.
Financial Management: Manage financial health of India delivery projects to meet margin targets and support regional financial reporting.
Forecasting & Variance Tracking: Maintain project forecasts and monitor variances (planned vs actual effort/cost).
Billing & Invoicing: Review and approve client invoices based on project milestones.
Efficiency & Profitability: Optimize resource utilization, improve processes, and conduct post-project reviews for profitability insights.
Strategic Capacity Planning: Collaborate with global regions and the India MD to plan resourcing, hiring, and practice growth.
Staffing Execution: Partner with PMO/Staffing to assign India resources to global projects based on skills and project priorities.
Workload Management: Monitor utilization and adjust assignments accordingly.
Conflict & Bench Escalation: Escalate resource conflicts or bench risks.
Opportunity Identification: Identify potential upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead hiring and onboarding for internal employees and external consultants.
Engagement & Retention: Drive engagement through one-on-ones, feedback sessions, and stay interviews.
Training Strategy: Implement upskilling plans to maintain strong technical and industry expertise.
Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate collaborative learning and share best practices across teams.
External Partner Quality: Monitor and evaluate partner resource performance and delivery quality.
Team Growth & Utilization: Scale the India Value Delivery team to XX in 2026 while maintaining minimum 65% utilization (monthly).

Establish and scale the dedicated technical hub supporting a strategic customer.
Grow the team from ~6 to ~20 technical specialists (Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Solution Architects).
Define operational frameworks, delivery standards, and best practices.
Build a strong team culture aligned with the customer and strategic program goals.
Provide architectural guidance and challenge technical assumptions to ensure scalable solutions.
Ensure high-quality delivery of data, AI, and platform solutions using Cognite Data Fusion.
Define standards for solution design, code quality, data modeling, and engineering practices.
Lead technical troubleshooting and ensure delivery meets SLAs and performance expectations.
Mentor and guide Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Solution Architects.
Help teams communicate technical insights effectively to business stakeholders.
Coach team members on professional customer engagement and presentation.
Conduct technical retrospectives to improve architecture, performance, and processes.
Develop and execute the partner enablement strategy.
Mentor and audit third-party partner teams to meet engineering and delivery standards.

15+ years of experience in technical domains such as:
Data Engineering
Cloud Architecture
Data Science / MLOps
Experience reviewing architectures and guiding senior engineers.
Experience in SaaS or data platform environments preferred.
Proven experience leading delivery for large enterprise or strategic customers.
Ability to navigate complex enterprise IT landscapes.
Experience aligning internal technical roadmaps with client architecture.
Strong experience mentoring senior technical teams.
Experience building and scaling teams in delivery centers (especially in India).
Ability to guide technical professionals in high-stakes customer engagements.
Experience enabling third-party partners or system integrators.
Experience designing or leveraging structured training programs and certifications.
Ability to work within a matrixed program structure.
Experience managing technical governance, risk, and cross-team dependencies.
Ability to coordinate across support, delivery, and training teams.
Excellent executive-level communication and presentation skills.

The Office of the CTO is responsible for the architecture of Cognite Data Fusion, and ensuring it has a robust and scalable platform for solving industrial data problems for our customers. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated software architect that can lead the design, development, and evolution of our data integration architecture. The architecture covers data ingestion, staging, transformation, contextualization and data pipeline orchestration. There is a large opportunity to make a step change in this area using generative AI. As a principal architect you will be responsible for the technical design of our foundational services and technology choices. These designs and choices must give Cognite a long term competitive advantage by allowing us to execute on our product roadmap, while maintaining scalability, robustness and cost efficiency.
