Monks is looking to expand our creative service capabilities by hiring a full-time Senior 2D/3D Animator. Reporting to the Associate Director of Animation, you will be a trailblazer helping to build the creative offering for a top performance marketing agency.  You will partner with our media buying team and alongside clients to develop creative that drives results. We are looking for a fast, flexible go-getter with a sharp eye, adept skills, and the drive to deliver top-notch creative for our clients.

Required Skill Set

You’ll be responsible for animating paid media ads for digital channels (including but not limited to Facebook, Google, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube) both net-new and from existing client materials. You’ll be somewhat of a motion generalist, at times jumping from animation into short-form video editing.

Creative:

• Collaborate with our designers and producers, working together to create ads driving performance results for our client’s media programs

The primary focus of this role is video editing and animation management, with motion design as a core driver of creative output. Strong animation experience is essential, with the ability to bring static creative to life and elevate storytelling in a way that feels native to each platform. This individual will oversee the creation and delivery of video assets across organic, paid, and website channels, ensuring all content aligns with brand standards.

This role requires someone who can take broad creative direction and turn it into clear, compelling executions. A strong understanding of creative briefs is key, along with the ability to interpret feedback, iterate quickly, and present multiple concepts for review.

We’re looking for someone deeply tapped into social media who can spot emerging editing trends and identify opportunities that can benefit the brand. This includes staying current with new tools, products, and editing systems, including AI-driven solutions that can improve efficiency and elevate output, and bringing those insights back to the social team. A strong understanding of what works across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter is important.

As the lead editor, this individual will help define and evolve the brand’s editing style and motion language, building guidelines for contractors and ensuring all content is cohesive and scalable in collaboration with the Social Media and Content Director and Art Director.

HB Studios is a driving force in the creation of sports video games and the studio behind PGA TOUR 2K Golf – presently working on Console and PC. 

As a Senior 3D Animator, you will be responsible for crafting and maintaining top quality character animation for a ‘AAA’ gaming experience, breathing life and personality into the characters within our games. The successful candidate is comfortable with both realistic and stylized animation with the ability to deliver compelling performances on-screen. Vox is looking for an innovative animator and motion designer to join Unexplainable, to help conceptualize and create a fresh visual look for Vox’s Unexplainable video podcast. Currently an audio-only podcast, this person will work closely with the Unexplainable team and Vox’s Art Director to develop a playful visual look and graphics package for the video version of the show, creating graphics and animations  for each week’s episode. 

They will have professional expertise using Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Strong editorial judgement, superb communication skills, impeccable organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail are critical for this role, as you will work closely with editorial leadership, video producers, and freelancers to elevate our storytelling through compelling design and motion graphics while maintaining Vox style and standards.

The work: 

• Support and facilitate client video creation for remote and field-based video production work. Including filming, editing, sound mixing, and motion graphic creation for a range of video products related to duties as assigned. 
• Works in collaboration with the Song Video Production Lead, creative teams, client account teams, and production staff (as needed) to produce various video products for digital distribution, including micro-documentary and a range of motion graphics animated content.

Senior Technical Animator

We are seeking a Technical Animator to support our game cinematic production. This role primarily focuses on supporting cinematic animators and directors by ensuring a smooth and efficient cinematic workflow from DCC tools to Unreal Engine (Level Sequencer), helping deliver high-quality in-game cinematics.

You will work closely with cinematic animators, cinematic designers, and engineers to optimize animation workflows, and to develop and maintain tools and pipelines that improve production efficiency and consistency.

Creates animated characters and objects that meet required direction. Artist must possess ability to animate both primary and secondary characters by using traditional methods and computer graphics systems to create desired performance of digital characters within a shot. Emphasis should be placed on conveying emotion through a combination of body language and facial expressions/ dialog as required by each specific project. Accountable for meeting schedules and show deadlines, participates in dailies, rounds and team reviews of work in progress. Interacts with production, supervisors and team/ peers in order to problem solve and share information related to show/ assigned tasks. Must be able to decipher as well as follow through on shot turnovers, dailies, briefings/ notes and feedback. Successful candidates should be able to work efficiently as part of a team or independently to resolve various design solutions. Able to animate multiple types of shots from simple to moderately difficult.

Qualifications:

Possess a strong understanding of the principles of animation. Knowledge of applicable software packages including Maya required. Background or experience in fine art which shows a thorough understanding of physical motion, weight, balance and form highly desired. Knowledge of human and animal anatomy as well as life drawing skills are desirable. Most desired 2 year diploma or 1 year certificate however minimal requirement of 2-3 years of relevant experience may be accepted.

Position Overview

We’re looking for a Technical Animator to help bring our robotic simulations to life. In this role, you'll work closely with the simulation, perception, and autonomy teams to develop high-fidelity motion systems and animations for human and robot avatars. Your work will directly support model training and evaluation, helping us generate realistic motion data to train large-scale neural networks

Responsibilities

• Build high-quality motion capture systems

• Work within the Tools team primarily supporting our animators and environment artists with assistance and problem solving.

As a Senior Technical Artist (Technical Animation), you’ll define and maintain the systems that bring our characters and creatures to life including complex animation state machines, layered interactions, and IK-driven behaviors in our upcoming MMO. Working at the intersection of animation, design, and engineering, you’ll build scalable animation graphs, ensure believable motion, and optimize performance across a vast, dynamic world.

You’ll collaborate with animators, designers, and engineers to develop robust Unreal Engine animation systems that balance scalability, fidelity, and efficiency. As a key bridge between creative intent and technical execution, you’ll drive the evolution of our animation framework and ensure seamless, high-quality integration across the game.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain complex animation state machines, layered animation systems, and override logic supporting split-body for player characters, NPCs, creatures, and props.
• Collaborate with animators, character tech artists, and designers to develop efficient, believable, and tech-friendly animation flows.
• Define best practices for animation setup while owning the debuggability, documentation, maintainability, and long-term health of animation blueprints and graphs within Unreal Engine.
• Partner with engineers to build and evolve animation runtime systems and debugging workflows.
• Drive optimization efforts across animation assets and graphs to meet performance and memory targets.
• Collaborate with cross-discipline partners to ensure character systems scale effectively across massive multiplayer environments.
• Develop scalable animation retargeting strategies to support characters and creatures of varying proportions while minimizing animation counts.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience as a technical animator or technical artist in games or related industries.
• Deep expertise with Unreal Engine animation workflows, including complex Animation Blueprints, state machines, blend spaces, and layered animation systems.
• Proven experience designing scalable, reusable animation systems for large-scope character setups, including players, NPCs, and creatures.
• Strong art foundation with a deep understanding of animation principles, anatomy, and motion.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across art, design, and engineering disciplines

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with Unreal Control Rig and Sequencer
• Familiarity with C++ and/or Python within Unreal Engine.
• Expertise in Autodesk Maya for rigging and animation support.
• Experience working with software like Kawaii, Chaos, Havok.

What You'll Do

You will work as a Solution Architect in the Animation vertical of our Unreal Engine Customer Success team. The ideal candidate has several years of hands-on production experience as an Animator. In this role, you will work with customers and potential customers to help them understand the value of the Unreal Engine. You will assess their needs for their projects and offer them support tools, both online and in person, to help them build their projects. Some travel will be involved.

The base salary range for this role is $196,500 - $247,133. Depending on your experience and level (whether you’re closer to mid-level or principal), your offer may land above or below that range. We are looking to grow our development team to take on more ambitious and exciting projects for 2022 and beyond. For a start, we are looking for more artists who love games and building game products to join us. Regardless if you are an Animator, 2D Specialist, 3D specialist, Technical Artist, we would love to share more about our studios and culture with you. Both experienced and junior artists may apply to our studios, we have both room to nurture a willing but inexperienced artist as well as leadership roles to challenge a veteran.

Key Responsibilities:

• Applying principles of animation, produce quality 2D hand-draft frame-by-frame animation or 2D animation using software like Spine (Rigged mesh animation)
• Has a deep knowledge of the engine and animation tools/ is aware of constraints – brings new solutions to complex problems.
• Actively participates in animation system design and issue resolution.
• Work closely with cross discipline team members (eg. programmers, designers.) to ensure the quality of the integration of the animations.
• Playtest the game to detect inconsistencies and validate the regularity of character reactions (control and gameplay situations).
• Carry out all other related tasks.

Who We Think Will Be A Great Fit:

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in video game animation, or any other relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of body mechanics and realistic animation.
• Game experience is a must.
• Relevant software experience - Spine, AfterEffects, 3DSMax or Maya;
• Attention to key minor details to enhance player experience (eg. subtle character’s movements)
• Adaptability, suppleness, flexibility, open mind.
• Open to constructive criticism.
• Good collaboration with members of the animation team and other team members on the project.
