Our trading is based on our own proprietary models and on busy days we engage in over a million trades. Traders work in teams to seek out and trade on pricing inefficiencies, develop models, manage risk, investigate new products, and push into new business areas. Experienced traders teach and oversee the less-experienced. New traders serve as assistants while they learn the ropes, getting increasing responsibility as they demonstrate their ability to handle it.
Technology is at the core of how we approach trading, and we consider ourselves as much a technology company as a trading firm. We use OCaml, a statically-typed functional programming language, as our primary development language, and have the largest team of OCaml engineers in any industrial setting.
We are looking for people who have a strong quantitative mind and enjoy working collaboratively to solve challenging problems in a practical setting. Prior knowledge of finance or economics is not expected or required. Experience with particular programming languages is also not required, although generally being comfortable programming in your language of choice is a plus.

At Jane Street, quantitative traders identify market signals, analyze and execute strategies, construct quantitative models, conduct statistical analyses, build algorithmic trading systems, manage risk, develop new businesses, and more.
Our trading desks are central to our collaborative and cooperative office environment. You can expect to work side by side with experienced traders who are committed to teaching, guiding, and supporting our newest hires. Through hands-on, interactive training, you’ll acquire significant trading responsibilities within weeks to months of being on the desk. In parallel, you will participate in our robust year-long firmwide educational curriculum.
At Jane Street, the lines between research, technology, and trading are intentionally blurry. As our strategies grow more sophisticated, close collaboration is essential for continuing to push the boundaries of what’s possible. We work with petabytes of data, a computing cluster with hundreds of thousands of cores, and a growing GPU cluster containing tens of thousands of high-end GPUs. We don’t believe in “one-size-fits-all” modeling solutions; we are open to and excited about applying all different types of statistical and ML techniques, from linear models to deep learning, depending on what best fits a given problem.
If you’ve never thought about a career in finance, you’re in good company. Many of us were in the same position before working here. We’re looking for smart people who enjoy solving interesting problems, and we’re more interested in how you think and learn than what you currently know. You should be:
A profitable trading strategy is only as strong as the technology it runs on, and we consider ourselves as much a technology company as a trading firm. General programming experience is a plus, but knowing a particular programming language is not required.
If you’d like to learn more, you can read about our interview process and meet some of the team.
If you're a recruiting agency and want to partner with us, please reach out to agency-partnerships@janestreet.com.

Kalshi has defined a new category: prediction markets. Kalshi allows people to trade on the outcome of any events and turn any question about the future into a financial asset. Kalshi fought for years and legalized prediction markets in the US for the first time in history. Kalshi is currently the fastest growing financial market in America, and has thousands of markets across politics, economics, financials, weather, tech, AI, culture and more.
We believe prediction markets have the potential to be the largest financial market because they turn anything into a financial position.
Building a new category is hard… like really hard. But it’s beautiful and deeply fulfilling. Our culture is simple: we hire really talented people, work really hard, and enjoy the climb. We are looking for ambitious and exceptional people to join our (relatively small) team to help us build the next generation of financial markets.
Role Roadmap
We are building a next-generation financial ecosystem (think NYSE or CME from scratch). As part of Kalshi, you will work on various platforms, including core exchange, clearinghouse, API infrastructure, connectivity to brokers and market makers, and others. We are a small team, which means your responsibilities scale very rapidly, and your contributions are clear and visible, not marginal. There is still a lot of green field at Kalshi and a lot of it (including entire systems) can be yours.
What you’ll do
What we’re looking for
Attributes:
Meritocracy is at our core, and we value people who take ownership and figure (usually hard) things out. We dream big. We love our craft deeply and are proud of what we put out in the world. We are committed to our vision of building something big… but also useful: a product that brings more truth through the power of markets.
Kalshians are Kalshi’s most important asset: we pick Kalshians carefully, so we trust them fully on day 1.
Salary Range: $100,000 to $250,000 annually plus equity and benefits.
This salary range is based on the current available market data and represents the expected salary range for this role. Kalshi has minimal hierarchy and few titles, but a broad range of experience is represented within roles. Should you have compensation expectations that exceed these bands, we'd love to hear from you and would welcome you to reach out to discuss further.
Kalshi is committed to creating a culture of inclusion and belonging, and we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We believe it is our collective responsibility to uphold these values and encourage candidates from all backgrounds to join us in our mission. All qualified applicants will be treated with respect and receive equal consideration for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, uniform service, veteran status, age, or any other protected characteristic per federal, state, or local law. If you are passionate about what you do and want to use your talents to support our mission and values, we’d love to hear from you.
