This role is best suited for someone who is highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working through constraints alongside engineers and external partners.
You will be part of a tight feedback loop—iterating, prototyping, refining user-focused designs and developing integrated solutions that are not just innovative, but reliable and manufacturable at scale.
Working closely with experienced engineering teams and OEM partners, we value practical problem-solving, clear communication, and hands-on engagement. The base salary range for this position is $100,000-$120,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Responsibilities:
Lead design trade-offs and architecture decisions for low-voltage subsystems supporting MV/LV power conversion, with a focus on safety and reliability.
Design and validate hardware for control, sensing, and protection circuits
Develop isolated interface circuits (e.g., signal isolators, isolated DC-DC converters, fiber optics) that ensure safe operation between high-voltage domains and low-voltage controllers.
Collaborate with firmware and mechanical teams to ensure clean signal routing, system-level timing alignment, and successful EMI/EMC compliance.
Execute DFMEA and component derating reviews for single fault tolerant designs to meet product lifetime requirements.
Own full lifecycle development of PCBAs, including specifications, schematics, BOM, prototyping, testing, and release to production.
Maintain detailed documentation of requirements and release notes for traceability and compliance.
Qualifications:
Technical degree or equivalent industry experience in electronics engineering
5+ years of experience designing and integrating low-voltage hardware for high-reliability or high-voltage systems
Proficiency with PCB CAD and simulation tools (preferably Altium Designer, *SPICE and/or PLECS)
Proficiency in designing mixed-signal and power interface circuits with strong knowledge of component selection and derating for harsh environments.
Hands-on experience implementing industrial communication protocols (CAN, RS-485, Modbus, Ethernet).
Familiarity with EMI/EMC best practices and debugging techniques at the hardware level.
Strong board bring up, debugging, and lab testing skills
Excellent written and verbal communications in English
Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% including internationally
Bonus Qualifications:
Shipped a PCBA in a high-volume product
Exposure to functional safety, HV design standards, or product certification processes.

CHAOS is seeking a Lead Industrial Designer to shape the physical and human-facing aspects of our next-generation dual-use systems – spanning mounted and dismounted sensor platforms, ground-based vehicles, and airborne effectors.
In this role, you will define and drive industrial design vision across hardware and user-facing systems, balancing real-world operational constraints with a cohesive product identity. You will work closely with hardware, software, and user interface teams to ensure our products are not only high-performing, but intuitive, durable, and thoughtfully designed for the environments in which they operate.
This role sits at the intersection of industrial design, human factors, and product strategy – bridging the gap between engineering-driven development and user-centered design.
