What You’ll Do:
- Work on Archer’s most challenging composite structures; provide manufacturing input (in regards to processing technique, tooling methods, splicing guidelines, etc.) to help solve recurring issues
Mentor and guide manufacturing engineers and technicians at all levels, setting best practices, championing innovative problem-solving, and fostering a hands-on culture of ownership and accountability
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert on the shop floor, leading root-cause analysis and implementing timely corrective actions
- Work closely with design team to provide manufacturing input during initial design stages
- Develop composite processing techniques utilizing new approaches, materials and tooling methods
- Drive tooling strategies and fixture development for prototype builds, balancing the need for high precision with practical solutions suited to rapidly evolving programs
- Export flat patterns & laser projection files from Fibersim and troubleshoot any issues seen on the shop floor with files
What You Need:
- 10+ years in aerospace manufacturing, with a focus on airframe assembly and composite structures; prototype or experimental aircraft experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Hands-on experience with composites materials, exhibiting strong fabrication skills and assembly intuition
- Proven track record of driving DFM principles for complex composite parts (layup, bonding, cure)
- Understanding of composite part design, material properties, allowables and testing
- Proficiency in 3D CAD Software (NX preferred)
- Experience using Fibersim or Composite Workbench
- Demonstrated exposure to prototype environment with ability to problem solve
Bonus Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with composites demonstrated through past work experience, personal project or student team
- Ability to operate composites related equipment; autoclaves, laser projectors, ply cutters, laser trackers
- Experience with various composite inspection techniques, M&P standards and test equipment
- Passion for aviation and eVTOLs

The Electrical Engineering Team at Archer is seeking a Senior Electrical Integration Engineer to lead the integration and testing of powertrain electrical systems, focusing on power electronics, battery management systems, dynamometers, and actuators.
What You’ll Do
- Drive the architecture and design of powertrain test systems, ensuring seamless integration between high-voltage bus components, including engines, batteries (with onboard BMS), DC-to-DC converters, and actuators.
- Own the end-to-end electrical and mechanical design of test enclosures and high-voltage harness systems required for flight-representative validation.
- Interpret complex Interface Control Documents and board level circuit schematics to independently resolve technical integration challenges while strategically leveraging Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for final high-level alignment.
- Lead the technical evaluation and testing of powertrain components, while managing critical supply chain and logistics functions to ensure hardware availability for the test program.
- Integrate and commission Iron Bird like High Voltage testbed systems including battery emulators and dynamometers. You’ll help configure simulation environments, develop test system automation, debug communication systems, and establish protocols to monitor system health and validate data integrity across the powertrain.
- Work cross-functionally with power electronics, software, and thermal teams to decompose operational profiles into power requirements and ensure compliance with aviation safety and certification standards.
What You Need
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace) or Physics. While advanced degrees are well represented on our team, we prioritize demonstrated impact and hands-on problem solving over credentials alone.
- Systems Thinking: A proven track record of integrating and debugging complex, safety critical electrical systems. Experience with High Voltage (HV) powertrains is ideal but we’re also interested in individuals who have taken on similar complexity in other integration domains such as aerospace avionics integration, RF systems integration, or test equipment design and build.
- Problem Solving: You possess a deep curiosity and understanding of the fundamental physics underlying our engineering decisions. Familiarity with the principles of operations of battery and dynamometer systems, EMI mitigation, thermal management, and basic structural design in the context of load carrying test equipment are highly desired.
- End to End Technical Responsibility: Deep understanding of electrical test equipment design and build including power switching topologies and high voltage systems considerations. Ideal candidates will take end to end ownership of their hardware from design through material sourcing, build, and validation.
- Test to Learn: Hands-on testing is at the heart of what we do. Successful candidates will understand the value in rigorous testing and bring a safety-first focus to performance validation of electric powertrains. Integrators and test engineers do it all - from turning wrenches to building harnesses and modifying mechanical components, configuring power supplies, oscilloscopes, and multi-meters. Experience with software automation (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB) and an understanding that rigorous data standardization is part of what makes a product safe and certifiable.
- Troubleshooting: Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills are critical in this role. We’ll look to you to be methodical and rigorous so we can draw real insight from your test findings.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with aerospace or automotive high-voltage integration and certification standards such as DO-160 or ISO 26262.
- Familiarity with IGBT gate drivers, solid-state relay control, and power switching topologies.
- Experience with CAD tools for electrical layout and harness design.

Responsibilities
- Design/Analyze/Test EMI Filters for various Archer Products. Provide inputs regarding value selection, orientation of components, board layout guidelines and grounding strategies for EMI Filters.
- Perform in-depth Circuit and FEM Simulations for Emissions, Susceptibility, ESD and lightning strikes.
- Provide detailed EMC recommendations to Electrical, Power Electronics and Mechanical Engineers for PCB board layout/Cable shielding strategies, enclosure designs, grounding etc.
- Work closely with EMC Test Engineers to design/test/certify various Archer Products for DO-160G/MIL 461G.
- Work with EMC test labs for Aircraft level and DO-160/MIL 461G pre-compliance/compliance for Archer Products.
Requirements
- Strong background in EMI Analysis/Simulation of Power Electronics/Electric Circuits.
- Solid knowledge and usage of Circuit Simulation tools (MATLAB, PLECS, PSIM etc.) and Ansys EM tools (Q3D, SIWave, HFSS and Maxwell)
- Detailed Understanding of various EMC Equipment such as LISNs, Antennas, BCI Probes, EMI test receivers, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Vector Network Analyzer, Impedance Analyzer etc.
- Familiarity with various standards such as DO-160, MIL-461, CISPR 12/16/25/32, UN ECE Regulation 10, FCC Part 15/18 etc.
Bonus Qualifications
- Prior EMC Per-Compliance and Certification experience in Aerospace (DO 160 or MIL 461) /Automotive Industry (FCC or UN ECE Reg 10).
- Detailed Understanding about SI/PI – Design/Simulation and Measurement.
- Experience with analysis/design/test with Active EMI filters.

The Propulsion Electronics Team at Archer is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to lead the architecture and design of mission-critical controller boards for our electric engines and generators.
What You’ll Do
- Own the technical roadmap and architecture for engine and generator controller boards from concept through flight certification.
- Drive microcontroller selection, processing architecture, and memory management to meet real-time performance and safety requirements.
- Design low-voltage power distribution trees, precision analog signal conditioning circuits, and sensor interfaces for temperature, current, voltage, position, and vibration sensing in harsh environments.
- Architect and validate multi-protocol communication systems including CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, and UART for integration with aircraft subsystems.
- Develop fault detection, isolation, and recovery logic in hardware to ensure fail-safe operation and meet functional safety requirements.
- Serve as technical authority for controller design, leading design reviews, mentoring engineers, and ensuring best practices for reliability and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with firmware, power electronics, mechanical, systems, and safety teams to integrate controllers into the propulsion system.
- Develop and execute validation plans using simulation and testing to meet performance, EMC, and certification requirements.
What You Need
- Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years experience in complex electronics and control system design.
- Proven expertise in architecting microcontroller-based control systems from concept to production.
- Deep knowledge of low-voltage power design, analog signal conditioning, and communication protocols including CAN and Ethernet.
- Experience designing fault-tolerant, redundant electronics for safety-critical applications.
- Strong understanding of PCBA design for EMC/EMI mitigation, signal integrity, and thermal management.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to mentor engineering teams.

As a Staff DFM Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) are optimized for manufacturability, reliability, and scalability in our revolutionary eVTOL aircraft. You'll be the bridge between design and production, driving manufacturing excellence while supporting Archer's mission to transform urban transportation.
What you’ll do:
- Lead PCBA manufacturing strategy for eVTOL applications, establishing scalable build processes from prototype to mass production.
- Qualify and verify manufacturing partners, evaluating technical capabilities, quality systems, and production capacity for both quick-turn prototypes and high-volume manufacturing.
- Develop and maintain DFM standards, creating comprehensive procedures, checklists, and best practices for rigid, flex, and rigid-flex PCB designs.
- Provide expert DFM guidance by reviewing PCBA designs and recommending optimizations to enhance manufacturability, yield, and cost-effectiveness.
- Drive process excellence at subcontractor sites by developing, implementing, and enforcing manufacturing procedures and quality standards.
- Conduct materials research and qualification through Design of Experiments (DoEs) to identify optimal materials for demanding eVTOL aerospace applications.
- Collaborate with eCAD librarians to develop component footprints that meet DFM requirements and manufacturing constraints.
- Lead root cause analysis for PCBA failures encountered during reliability testing and field operations, implementing corrective actions.
- Champion yield improvement initiatives at subcontractor assembly lines through data-driven problem solving.
- Partner cross-functionally with electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, program management, and product lifecycle teams to deliver exceptional results.
What you need:
- BS Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Materials Science Engineering with 10+ years or MS with 6+ years of experience in related fields.
- Experience developing and implementing DFM processes for rigid, flex, and rigid-flex printed circuit board designs for aerospace, automotive, or industrial applications.
- Experience developing processes for press-fit applications.
- A working knowledge of the materials, material properties, and processes used in PCBA manufacturing.
- A working knowledge of IPC-610.
- Experience developing, deploying, and enforcing processes at subcontractor sites.
- Experience investigating and resolving issues encountered at subcontractor sites.
- Ability to travel frequently, ~20%.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with Altium Designer.
- Experienced in the development of RoHS compliant assemblies.
