Job Summary

Essential Job Responsibilities

•    Cooperating and communicating with the Project Manager and other project participants and collaborating with all team members to create more efficient project methods and to maintain the project's profitability.
•    For Projects that require Engineering, coordinate with the Preconstruction Group to attain the Engineering required.
•    Coordinate field test methods and methods for monitoring the quality of those tests based on project requirements and internal quality guidelines.
•    Maintain and organize all construction documentation including but not limited to contract drawings, fabrication drawings, specifications, change order documents, quality, and closeout documentation within the appropriate Procore tools and as outlined in the project requirements.
•    Ensuring the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
•    Gather and prepare data for submittal or transmittal to the customer, vendors, subcontractors, governmental agencies, and internal use.
•    Coordinate with Third Party Detailing Service for submittal or transmittal to the customer, vendors, subcontractors, governmental agencies, and internal use.
•    Coordinate field surveying, dimension, and field verification with Superintendent or subcontractor including elevation, control points, and compilation of as-built data.
•    Perform material take offs from drawings, specifications, and other contract documents.
•    Prepare purchase requisitions for required project materials and monitor delivery status in support of construction schedule, construction budget, and project specifications.
•    Provide all project administration and correspondence functions including permitting, bonding, and requests for information (RFIs).
•    Assist PM in the development of SSHEP’s and setting up Project Kick Off Meetings.
•    Assist PM in the development of Subcontract Agreements.
•    Assist PM with the development of the Schedule of Values for billing. 
•    Assist PM with the development of Estimates.
•    Coordinate with other Divisions on estimates.
•    Assist PM with Job Walks to ensure quality estimates are developed.

As the Virtual Construction Field Engineer, you will support the Nox Innovations virtual design team and broader Nox Group construction installation teams with research and validation in the field. This will include design, trade coordination, layout, installation coordination, and validation.

Role overview

As a Senior Process Engineer at ASM, you will work with semiconductor processing and analytical equipment to research, develop and optimize processes focused on oxidation, annealing, curing, Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD, PEALD), Epitaxy or PECVD for logic, memory, analog, power, and MEMS applications. You will design and conduct complex experiments, measurements and perform the interpretation of complex experimental output. While you deliver creative and inventive solutions, technical publications, and generation of Intellectual Property (IP) are an essential function of this position. 

Note: This role is intended for candidates who are graduating in Spring 2026 or have graduated within the past two years and have 0–2 years of professional work experience.

Responsibilities 

• Creative problem solver with experience in developing new films for emerging applications and experience in chemistry/materials characterization.
• Works with semiconductor processing equipment to research, develop and optimize unit processes focused on the deposition of metal and dielectric films via ALD, PEALD, Epitaxy, and/or PECVD.
• Bringing innovative ideas, staying abreast of state-of-the-art processing applications in the semiconductor industry to be effective.
• Process consulting and accountability including technical papers on advanced process applications and Intellectual Property creation.
• Participates in and drives technical problem-solving sessions using the related scientific method and industry tools, such as Ishikawa diagrams.
• Designs and conducts experiments, in addition to measuring and interpreting experimental output, aimed at fulfilling stated objectives using Design of Experiments (DOE) and Response Surface Methodology (RSM).
• Troubleshoots equipment problems and is personally and actively engaged in problem via “hands-on” modalities.
• Works with customers and central marketing to understand and define requirements to successfully execute and document customer demonstrations.

Minimum Qualifications

• We are looking for candidates who have graduated within the last 0-2 years or will graduate in Spring or Fall 2025 and are eager to begin or advance their career.
• Master’s or PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics.
• 0-7+ years of combined education, research, and work experience with:
• Cure, oxidation, ALD, CVD, Epitaxy, PECVD and/or other thin film deposition.
• Materials characterization techniques such as XPS, SIMS, RBS, AFM, XRR, XRD, TEM, SEM and ellipsometry.
• Knowledge of electrical characterization techniques for CMOS devices.
• Application of dielectric and/or metal films for logic and memory structures.
• Training in CFD (computational fluid dynamics), either theoretical or practical is preferred.

• Graduating in Fall 2025 or graduated within the past two years.

About the Role:

As the Sales/ Project Engineer for Ziplines Ground Systems and Site Infrastructure, you’ll spearhead the deployment success of Ziplines Offsite Charging sites, the game changing autonomous loading Zipping Point, and other site infrastructure. Our Global Sales, Services & Spares IQ and Sustaining teams are seeking Snr Engineers I & II, Field Service (level will depend on experience, degree and responsibilities. Please review below) to join ASM at a customer site (TSMC) in North Valley, AZ. Domestic and International travel of at least 75% will be required for this role. As a Senior Field Service Engineer at ASM, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the advanced semiconductor equipment that powers the world’s most transformative technologies. You’ll take the lead on complex troubleshooting, guide and mentor engineers, and strengthen our partnerships by helping customers achieve stable, high‑performance fabrication environments. Your expertise will make a direct impact on tool reliability, customer satisfaction, and the next generation of ASM technology.

What you will be working on

Senior Engineer I, Field Service

• Install, maintain, and repair ASM semiconductor equipment with minimal supervision
  • Lead troubleshooting of complex tool or process issues using structured diagnostic methods
  • Perform root‑cause analysis and recommend targeted, data‑driven corrective actions
  • Review tool‑performance data to identify trends, risks, or improvement opportunities
  • Provide technical guidance and on‑the‑job coaching to less‑experienced engineers
  • Document service activities and support updates to procedures and best practices
  • Communicate solutions, progress, and expectations clearly with customer engineers
  • Participate in escalations alongside cross‑functional ASM engineering teams

Senior Engineer II, Field Service

• Serve as the senior technical lead for equipment installation, performance optimization, and recovery
• Diagnose and resolve highly complex, multi‑factor tool and process issues with limited guidance
• Lead advanced root‑cause analysis and drive long‑term corrective‑action plans that influence global engineering improvements
•  Own the customer‑technical relationship: build trust, anticipate operational needs, and act as ASM’s senior technical representative onsite
• Manage escalations end‑to‑end, aligning expectations, coordinating cross‑functional teams, and communicating clear action plans
• Guide, mentor, and develop engineers through hands‑on instruction, structured training, and knowledge‑sharing
• Champion best practices and contribute to procedure development, improvements, and field‑wide learning

As a Principal Engineer, Surface Technology (Surface Modification) reporting to Surface Technology Group, you will work with other ASM global technology team members including materials scientists, equipment engineers, process, quality and field service engineers as well as external customers to solve time critical or strategic technology challenges and develop unique advanced solutions in collaborative partnerships.

The position requires the individual to:

• Drive improvements in Thermal & Plasma Enhanced ALD system component longevity, emissivity, stability, refurbishment / service strategy and process performance to enable reliable and efficient deposition of a range of next generation advanced thin film materials exhibiting various electrical & physical properties.
• Work independently to develop new approaches to modify surfaces of internal ALD chamber components to improve performance, lifetime, defectivity and CoO for customers processing various materials for use as functional/active layers in semiconductor device stacks.
• Connect process conditions, physical characterization, and electrical response towards understanding of mechanisms.
• Specify, procure and develop state-of-the-art advanced process equipment.
• Formulate new surface texturing and dry coating strip methods.
• Leverage advanced knowledge of media blast, multi-axis automated control systems, e-beam and pulsed laser process technologies.
• Direct / manage projects & relationships with critical 3^rd party suppliers & supporting institutions.
• Have a passion for surface engineering processes, be inquisitive to drive projects & root-cause failure investigations whilst being systematic & entrepreneurial in mind-set.
• Demonstrate experience within a high-volume semiconductor clean room environment.
• Be based within the ASM Phoenix AZ campus but open to travel (<10%) to customer and supplier global sites when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree studying Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering or similar technical / scientific field.
• Minimum 1-5 years of industrial experience preferably using automated blast or industrial laser or e-beam systems.
• Expertise in high volume semiconductor cleaning  environments highly advantageous.
• Solid understanding of Design-of-Experiments execution and statistical data analysis.
• Familiarity with common surface characterization & metrology techniques including: Optical microscopy, SEM, TEM, XPS / AES, profilometry, CMM as well as ICP-MS, particle analysis etc.

The position requires the individual to:

• Bachelors science degree ideally involving theory & practice of an appropriate thin film deposition technique whilst studying Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering or similar technical field.
• Minimum 1-5 years of experience in ALD (atomic layer deposition), PECVD (plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition) or PVD (physical vapor deposition) technology,
• Expertise in coating equipment design and electro-mechanical development approaches highly advantageous.
• Experience using ASM EmerALD systems a plus.
• Solid understanding of Design-of-Experiments execution and statistical data analysis.
• Familiarity with common thin-film & chemical characterization & metrology techniques including: Optical microscopy, SEM, TEM, XRD, Ellipsometry, XPS / AES as well as ICP-MS, particle analysis, sheet resistance probe analysis etc.

As a Principal Engineer (Hardware), Advanced Packaging, you will play a key role in advancing ASM’s semiconductor process technologies. You’ll leverage your expertise in thin-film deposition and materials characterization to develop innovative solutions for next-generation devices. Your work will directly influence product performance and enable breakthroughs in logic, memory, and power applications. We are currently recruiting for multiple openings. 

What you will be working on

• Research, develop, and optimize semiconductor processes focused on Advanced Packaging including depositions and surface preparation.
• Design and conduct complex experiments using DOE and RSM methodologies; interpret and analyze experimental data.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues through hands-on engagement and ensure successful product transfer to customers.
• Provide expert technical support for complex electro/mechanical equipment and computer systems.
• Respond to and resolve issues escalated by first-line product support teams.
• Report design, reliability, and maintenance problems to engineering teams for resolution.
• Assist in customer installations and provide technical training as needed.
• Deliver support for highly technical or sophisticated products to customers and users.
• Travel globally up to 50% of the time to support field operations.

What we are looking for

• Master’s or PhD in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
• 10+ years of combined education, research, and work experience in thin-film deposition and advanced packaging processes.
• At least 5 years of experience in semiconductor process engineering or semiconductor equipment technology.
• 2-5 years of experience in customer support, product management, or product marketing roles.
• Demonstrated knowledge of hardware to process dependencies and comfort with fingerprinting chamber / tool critical components
• Proven experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex technical issues
• Strong understanding of electro/mechanical equipment and software systems
