This position is responsible for product management & technical marketing activities within the Product Management group. Key Responsibilities:

• Product Life Cycle – Drive the product life cycle from concept to high volume manufacturing to obsolescence
• Roadmaps – Maintain product roadmap for a portfolio of products, periodically update roadmap through discussions with customers and internal experts, align product priorities and resources to roadmap
• Customer Engagement – Support Technical Meeting with customers, create and manage customer presentations, detailed market and competitive analysis
• MRS – Own the market requirement spec documents and ensure product development priorities align with MRS and customer needs
• Strategic Marketing – Prepare market strategies for executive R&D expenditure requests, develop roadmap and product strategy presentations for executives within ASM
• Financial – Work with finance department on NPV and IRR for products, maintain cost of ownership models
• Business Planning and Market Analysis – Attend company operation/planning meeting, create Business plan/Operation review materials, create business forecast based on market information, support budget planning, competitive analysis
• Drive teams internally to meet set products profit gross margins
• New Product Introductions – Detailed market analysis for inflections, development of business plans, internal executive alignment, positioning of products
• Support technical activities – Work with product development teams on specifications and data collection requirements, manage customer demo requests, prioritization of product development activities
• Supplier Engagement – Develop key capabilities for new products through collaboration with suppliers
• Product Promotion – Create promotional materials for conferences and launches, Sales and product support training, Introductions to Customer

Requirements:

• 10+ years of semiconductor / capital equipment industry experience, of which a significant portion has been in technical marketing and / or product management roles
• Masters or PhD in Material Science, Electrical/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Process, hardware, or device experience in semiconductors or capital equipment
• ALD or CVD experience is a plus
• High level of proficiency or deep understanding of capital equipment systems in semiconductor or similar industry
• Direct customer engagement or supplier management
• Ability to work with multiple internal disciplines on portfolio of products
• Understanding of product life cycle and technical marketing
• Ability to travel globally

As a Senior Engineer II, Global Product Support (PECVD) at ASM Korea, you will operate at the highest technical level, serving as a key escalation expert for advanced PECVD systems deployed at global customer sites.
This role combines deep hands‑on troubleshooting capability with strong global collaboration, enabling rapid resolution of complex issues and continuous improvement of product performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Based in Korea, this position requires frequent interaction with global field teams and customers, and extensive international travel to support critical escalations and installations.

What you will be working on

• Provide advanced technical product support for ASM PECVD equipment, including complex electro‑mechanical systems and software‑driven modules.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and debug high‑severity issues escalated from field service engineers and regional product support teams.
• Act as the final escalation point when standard troubleshooting paths are exhausted, delivering clear, executable solutions under time‑critical conditions.
• Support customer installations, system recoveries, and performance optimization at customer sites when deep technical intervention is required.
• Collaborate closely with R&D, engineering, and product teams by feeding back design, reliability, and serviceability insights to drive continuous product improvement.
• Deliver technical training and knowledge transfer to field engineers and internal teams to strengthen global support capability.
• Engage directly with customers to resolve highly technical issues and ensure optimal system performance and uptime.

Job's mission

The intern will support the planning and execution of Design of Experiments (DOEs) aimed at improving the material properties of key PECVD films.

What you will be working on

The intern will run baseline deposition recipes and assist senior process engineers in optimizing PECVD processes to enhance film quality, and productivity like defectivity, and film non uniformity.
The role involves hands on work in the cleanroom using state of the art deposition equipment and characterization tools. The intern will develop DOE plans and execute experiments under the supervision of ASM process engineers. Experimental results will be analyzed using in house metrology and characterization tools such as VASE ellipsometry, SP5, EDX, Hg probe, FTIR, AFM, XRR, and nano indentation.

What we are looking for

An ideal candidate will have a background in materials science and/or plasma physics with experience or coursework in thin film deposition techniques. It is preference of clean room working experience and vacuum chamber handling experience. Due to the technical depth of the project, candidates pursuing or holding a Master’s or PhD degree are preferred.

The Key Account Technologists are the ASM product experts who support extensive customer and internal company contacts while driving the introduction of new products, product improvements, and product modifications.  As a Key Account Technologist (KAT) you'll help to expand product market share by helping win development tool of record (DTOR) selections and supporting competitive process application performance of the installed base. Further, the role requires someone who is not only skilled in R&D/Innovation, development, engineering, and design for manufacturability, but also someone who can be a key team member developing and delivering the PECVD technology roadmap. This role requires interactions and communication between the product development team and the customer to ensure customer issues and concerns are being addressed with solutions and timelines.  A persistent approach to Product Life Cycle (PLC) will also be required to achieve strong engagement with the new product development team.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for process application NPI (New Product Introduction), product improvements, and product modifications for key product unit (KPU) installed base
• Develop and maintain relationships with key customers.
• Responsible for managing all the technical account aspects of customers
• Responsible for resolution of New process escalations in the field during NPI stage
• Responsible for defining and implementing BKM process for all process applications – including standards, specs, and recipes, installed base performance
• Support highly engaged working relationship between KAT department, ASM’s customer account teams and customers’ engineers to ensure all customer needs and requirements are understood and addressed
• Drive close cooperation with multiple internal stakeholders, especially with Process Development teams, Business Development Team, Account Teams, Engineering and Global Product Management (GPM)

Qualifications:

• 5+ years (or 3+ years with Ph.D.) experience in the semiconductor wafer processing or capital equipment industry
• Master’s degree (or above) in material science, physics, chemical, mechanical or electrical engineering, or related field
• Related work experience can include process engineering, technical marketing, or product support
• Proven ability to drive continuous improvement across operations
• Able to build long term relationships of trust with customers
• Strong written and verbal communication skills including excellent presentation and influencing skills
• Semiconductor experience should be primarily focused on PECVD.
• Experience in work function, metallization, silicides, and electrodes in logic or memory is preferred
