Roku’s embedded software automation and tools team has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer with strong experience in building automation framework and tools for embedded devices. The role involves developing and maintaining software and tools that help various internal teams to test and manage Roku’s products. Working closely with internal stakeholders to enhance existing automation toolset with new capabilities and advanced features that empower all engineering and accelerate validation efforts for SW releases.
You will work cross-functionally with various engineering teams, using your automation tooling expertise to help both firmware developers and QA to create and deliver the highest quality products that provide valuable end-user feedback to improve customer experience. This position requires Python expertise with strong experience using web frameworks, excellent debugging, written, and organizational skills. You will be joining a talented, high-performance team of developers with a history of delivery. We are looking for someone who can help us maintain this pace and continue delivering high quality as we grow.

The International TV Software team at Roku develops and delivers software for television platforms across international markets, with a focus on Europe and Australia. The team works closely with SOC partners to bring new TV products to market, develops software to meet regional broadcast standards, and supports certification with organizations such as ETV, the BBC, and DTG. The team operates across both new platform development and common software development projects, contributing to greenfield features as well as the ongoing evolution of Roku’s international TV software ecosystem. It is a collaborative, cross-functional team that values engineers who are curious, adaptable, and motivated to understand the full breadth of the systems they work on.
As a Software Engineer on the Regional TV Software team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of software for regional TV platforms, working on both new TV platform projects and new software development projects. You will collaborate with SOC vendors, support certification processes with UK and European broadcast organizations, and help define and build new software features. This is a great opportunity for an engineer early in their career who is curious, collaborative, and motivated to grow across multiple areas of a complex software system.

The Advanced Development organisation pushes beyond the boundaries of product lines to build new things. As part of Advanced Development, the Developer Experience team specifically focuses on driving internal changes in tooling to improve developer satisfaction and productivity. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with an interest in driving our platform emulation product forward. You will be working on a software PAL version of the Roku OS which represents real hardware but facilities wider scale testing accessed via cloud hosting and web/API for internal users and Roku Partner development teams.
This is a very diverse role with exciting challenges and opportunities. This internship is a great fit for a student going into their Placement Year who’s interested in embedded software development and software quality. You’ll help improve product quality and developer efficiency by contributing to automatable tests, debugging issues, and improving testing workflows for C/C++ applications running on embedded/Linux-based systems.

The International TV Software team at Roku develops and delivers software for television platforms across international markets, with a focus on Europe and Australia. This is a senior software engineering role where you will architect, design, implement and test the run-time and native renderer of Roku's software development kit. You will partner with engineers who build the higher level scripting parts of Roku’s SDK.
Roku prides itself in building software and features which run well on our oldest devices, while taking advantage of our latest ones. To this end, the software development kit will need to be designed and implemented from the get go to run well on devices with extremely limited system resources like RAM, Flash and CPU.
Architect, design, implement and test the run-time and native renderer of Roku's software development kit.
Partner with engineers who build the higher level scripting parts of Roku’s software development kit.
Ensure that we can stand behind all APIs exposed by Roku’s software development kit, and manage the evolution of these APIs.
Ensure that the native development kit performs well on low-cost hardware. To this end you will design for and track RAM consumption, rendering frame rate, etc.
Develop tooling which will allow Roku and 3rd party developers to build great optimized and performant applications to run on the Roku platform.
Navigate through ambiguous problem spaces and meticulously distill out design choices, trade-offs, and priorities.
Bachelor’s in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
7+ years of experience in embedded C/C++ development and toolchain.
Extensive experience with software development on embedded Linux
Experience with multi-process architectures and IPC mechanisms.
Experience with UI/app frameworks from iOS or Android is a plus.
Excellent software design and architecture skills.
Ability to see the big picture while focused on short-term objectives and deliverables.
Ability to multi-task and drive parallel projects and distributed teams with tight deadlines.

This is a senior software engineering role where you will architect, design, implement and test the run-time and native renderer of Roku's software development kit. You will partner with engineers who build the higher level scripting parts of Roku’s SDK.
Roku prides itself in building software and features which run well on our oldest devices, while taking advantage of our latest ones. To this end, the software development kit will need to be designed and implemented from the get go to run well on devices with extremely limited system resources like RAM, Flash and CPU.
Architect, design, implement and test the run-time and native renderer of Roku's software development kit.
Partner with engineers who build the higher level scripting parts of Roku’s software development kit.
Ensure that we can stand behind all APIs exposed by Roku’s software development kit, and manage the evolution of these APIs.
Ensure that the native development kit performs well on low-cost hardware. To this end you will design for and track RAM consumption, rendering frame rate, etc.
Develop tooling which will allow Roku and 3rd party developers to build great optimized and performant applications to run on the Roku platform.
Navigate through ambiguous problem spaces and meticulously distill out design choices, trade-offs, and priorities.
Bachelor’s in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
7+ years of experience in embedded C/C++ development and toolchain.
Extensive experience with software development on embedded Linux
Experience with multi-process architectures and IPC mechanisms.
Experience with UI/app frameworks from iOS or Android is a plus.
Excellent software design and architecture skills.
Ability to see the big picture while focused on short-term objectives and deliverables.
Ability to multi-task and drive parallel projects and distributed teams with tight deadlines.

About the Advanced Technology Group
The Advanced Technology Group (ATG) is a part of Foundational Systems and Experiences Engineering (FSEE) within the Platform Business Group. Established over 20 years ago as part of PlayStation’s first party game development studios, ATG's focus has always been to help game developers to get the most out of PlayStation hardware, and this is still true today. The majority of the group holds responsibility for a large part of the GPU software stack used by all PlayStation games, which allows us to collaborate with engineering teams worldwide, from third party game developers to hardware vendors, to deliver key platform technologies.
You will be part of a small creative team within ATG, tackling problems centred around computer vision and machine learning. Examples of projects include a novel facial performance capture system used to produce assets for AAA games, and building a general purpose solution for on-console inference.
The Role
You will be expected to develop innovative ML solutions for deployment in games and in the development pipeline. This also involves making technology choices, prototype solutions and bringing them to production.
Some of these systems are expected to run on millions of PlayStations in people’s homes, making high run-time performance crucial. You should stay up to date with the competition and the industry’s latest advances and academic developments. The role also involves close collaboration with our other teams in Europe, the U.S and Japan, as well as technical communication of the ideas and solutions developed.
The Essential Requirements
• Experience with modern Deep Learning and Pytorch: You will be expected to make decisions about data and architectures, to implement pipelines for training and validation and to develop and deploy models in production.
• Experience with production-facing software development and strong debugging skills. This also requires demonstrating applied engineering skills through a shipped ML network or personal project.
• Understanding of 3D maths/geometry: Including multiple-view geometry and 3D mesh representations.

The RP EU PM team consists of ~30 Project Managers in Europe and Asia and works alongside our Custom and Syndicated research teams to deliver a broad range of qualitative and quantitative (ad hoc and tracking) studies for global pharmaceutical clients to enable them to address product development, marketing, brand, advertising and communications objectives. Our studies are typically multi-market, encompassing respondents in Europe, North America and Emerging Markets.
Each of our research projects will have a dedicated member of the RP PM team embedded within the core project team for the full project lifecycle, providing project management expertise and guidance throughout. Typically, members of our PM team will support multiple projects concurrently.

Led by our Operations Director, our Operations teams are responsible for all customer contact. The teams are the primary points of contact for customers including responding to their inbound queries during the lifetime of their mortgage or loan as well as supporting customers that are in financial difficulty and/or arrears. Our aim is to provide an exceptional service to our customers by ensuring that we have knowledgeable, well training operational colleagues to deliver the service that our customers expect of us.
