Identify and qualify new inbound sales opportunities for Flexport
Partner closely with marketing in developing, testing, and implementing new inbound funnels
Work with Account Executives to identify and prioritize strategic opportunities in your market segment
Demonstrate the value of our offering through phone calls, email, and other social mediums
Shadow Account Executives in meetings and other activities to help you acquire the skills you’ll need for the next role on the Flexport sales team.

Role Description:
Our Business Development Representatives (BDRs) develop logistical solutions for small to medium-sized businesses using the full suite of ShipBob's services. New Leaf Energy is an experienced clean energy developer that partners with landowners, policymakers, and other stakeholders to accelerate the transition to a world powered by renewable energy. We identify high-value sites, work with landowners and local communities to develop them, and partner with long-term asset owners to bring the most impactful clean energy projects to life.
The role of the Director of Market Development combines hands-on business development responsibilities with market and policy expertise. The Director works collaboratively with our Project Development and technical teams to increase the value of our existing pipeline and generate new business opportunities related to utility-scale solar and energy storage in a wide range of states and utility territories. We are looking for an entrepreneurial leader who has experience in renewable energy development and has a deep understanding of how RTO markets and energy policy work. This candidate will be an active member of a multi-disciplinary development team, providing colleagues with both direct, project-level support as well as high-level strategic business guidance.
This position covers development activities currently happening in MISO and CAISO, though the markets that New Leaf develops in may shift and change over time.
This position is based out of New Leaf’s Boston, Lowell, Oakland or Chicago offices on a hybrid schedule. Candidates should expect approximately 20% travel to support project sites, stakeholder meetings, and regional conferences. We value in-person collaboration and offer a hybrid work environment. Hybrid employees work in the office at least two out of every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and are free to work from the office or home on other days.

New Leaf Energy compensates all employees in three ways: market-competitive base salary, plus above-market variable compensation, plus an equity-like program such that all employees experience the benefits of ownership. We use a data-driven and transparent methodology to calibrate compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable, guided by the New Leaf Energy compensation manual, which is available to all employees.
Under our compensation framework, the likely base salary range for this position in the Chicago Office is $182,148 - $210,162. The on-target annual cash bonus associated with this position is an additional 30% percent of base salary. Your actual salary may be above, in, or below this range, depending on your location and experience. Our office locations in Lowell, Boston, Oakland, and Chicago all carry geography-based upward adjustments to the base pay range.

The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $75,000 with opportunities for additional compensation based on performance. Cameo determines salary ranges by role and level with ranges for US roles typically based on our home market of Chicago. Within that range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training. Our Sales team is focused on cultivating new client partnerships and driving revenue. The Operations team ensures a smooth and secure client experience by managing critical processes and building strong internal and external partnerships. They are agile problem-solvers who adapt to business changes while maintaining a strong focus on protection, efficiency, and service excellence.
Our Finance team is made up of Accounting, FP&A, and Cash & Treasury. Together, they manage financial records, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and procurement. Their work drives Onbe’s financial planning and supports key strategic decisions across the organization.
The Legal team enables business growth by offering proactive legal guidance, negotiating on behalf of the company, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, financial networks, and client commitments—all while helping our teams move quickly and efficiently.
Marketing and Business Development (BDR) at Onbe are focused on growing brand awareness, generating demand, and commercializing products. Their integrated strategy spans PR, events, research, digital marketing, client support, go-to-market planning, and more—all aligned with our talent and growth goals.
Our Product team drives innovation by identifying new products and features that deliver strong ROI. They research user needs and market trends, manage vendor relationships and pricing, collaborate closely with Technology, and oversee product roadmaps, launches, and adoption strategies. The Solutions Engineering team bridges sales and product, helping clients maximize platform capabilities.
Technology is woven into every part of Onbe. This department encompasses software development (client-facing and internal), cloud operations, cybersecurity, data analytics, enterprise architecture, DevOps, production support, and more. They create and maintain the tools, systems, and security infrastructure that power Onbe’s solutions and services.
