As Team Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how we manage our production environment across APAC and globally — combining hands-on technical leadership with strategic oversight to drive operational excellence.
This role offers the unique opportunity to lead a high-performing team of engineers responsible for evolving the platforms that power Optiver’s low-latency trading operations. Your leadership will directly impact system resilience, incident response, automation, and business performance in high-stakes markets. Trading at Optiver requires bulletproof infrastructure — and your team will be the one keeping it that way. This is your chance to drive meaningful change in a globally distributed, high-impact environment where engineering excellence directly fuels business success.
WHO WE ARE
Optiver is a global market maker founded in Amsterdam, with offices in London, Chicago, Austin, New York, Sydney, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taipei and Mumbai. Established in 1986, today we are a leading liquidity provider, with close to 2,000 employees in offices around the world, united in our commitment to improve the market through competitive pricing, execution and risk management. By providing liquidity on multiple exchanges across the world in various financial instruments we participate in the safeguarding of healthy and efficient markets. We provide liquidity to financial markets using our own capital, at our own risk, trading a wide range of products: listed derivatives, cash equities, ETFs, bonds and foreign currencies.
Optiver’s Sydney office is one of the primary players within Asian markets, trading a range of products. Established in 1996, we're an active participant on the Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan exchanges, and act as Optiver’s APAC head office.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a hands-on leader, you’ll be responsible for:
Leading and developing a world-class team of Production Operations Engineers, including hiring, coaching, and fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.
Driving strategy and execution across our global trading production environment, ensuring system uptime, scalability, and performance — especially during peak market activity.
Designing and managing global support coverage, including a follow-the-sun model to ensure 24/7 reliability and seamless handovers across regions.
Establishing operational standards including SLAs, KPIs, and control frameworks that ensure discipline, audit-readiness, and high service quality.
Owning the incident lifecycle — from real-time response to root cause analysis and long-term remediation — embedding lessons learned into processes and tooling.
Leading improvements in automation, deployment workflows, and monitoring, reducing manual effort and increasing system robustness and agility.
Ensuring production readiness for new exchanges, trading strategies, and infrastructure changes, coordinating across development, trading, and infrastructure teams.
Managing colocation environments and ensuring adequate redundancy, performance headroom, and operational capacity planning.
Contributing technically to platforms, tools, and processes that enhance operational leverage, observability, and fault tolerance.
Representing the team in leadership forums, advocating for production priorities, and aligning team objectives with broader business goals.
WHO YOU ARE
You are a pragmatic, calm, and strategic engineering leader who thrives in high-performance, mission-critical environments. You know how to balance operational safety with system performance, and people leadership with technical ownership.
Proven success leading technical operations, SRE, or production engineering teams in real-time or low-latency environments.
Strong organizational skills with experience managing multi-region support and coordinating global rosters.
Skilled communicator who can align business and technical stakeholders, provide clarity under pressure, and drive cross-functional collaboration.
Passionate about coaching, developing, and retaining top engineering talent.
Deep expertise in Linux-based distributed systems, ideally in capital markets, trading, or similarly fast-paced environments.
Strong proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Bash), CI/CD pipelines, and observability systems.
Demonstrated experience defining and managing SLAs/SLOs, with a data-driven approach to improving reliability and performance.
Comfortable leading incident response in high-pressure scenarios and building systems that prevent recurrence. This role is 40% operational.
Experience with colocation infrastructure, system tuning, and real-time telemetry is highly valuable.
Exposure to high-frequency trading or low-latency financial systems is a strong plus.
WHAT YOU'LL GET
A performance-based bonus structure unmatched anywhere in the industry. We combine our profits across desks, teams and offices into a global profit pool, fostering a truly collaborative environment.
The chance to work alongside diverse and intelligent peers in a rewarding environment.

The DevOps Engineer will work within the Platform Engineering team and help provide the infrastructure, tooling, and automation that supports Karbon’s engineering teams. This role focuses on improving deployment workflows, platform reliability, and operational visibility across our cloud platform.
Engineers are expected to balance delivery speed with a strong commitment to quality, meeting agreed timelines while producing reliable, maintainable, and well-tested solutions. Sound judgment in making trade-offs between velocity and long-term sustainability is essential.
Collaborate Effectively
Engineering is collaborative by default. Team members are expected to contribute constructively in design discussions, reviews, and planning, communicate clearly about progress and risks, and support shared team outcomes in both hybrid and distributed environments.
Build and Maintain Systems
Engineers are responsible for building new capabilities while maintaining and improving existing systems. This includes designing scalable solutions, reducing technical debt, supporting operational stability, and contributing to continuous improvement.
Operate with Autonomy
A high degree of autonomy is expected. Given clear objectives, engineers should independently translate problems into actionable technical approaches, proactively identify improvements, and continuously expand relevant technical expertise.
Ownership and Accountability
Ownership is fundamental. Engineers are accountable for the quality, performance, and customer impact of their work from design through post-release support, and are expected to follow through on commitments.
AI-Enabled Engineering
AI is reshaping how software is built, and we are committed to leveraging it as a force multiplier for creativity, impact, and capability. Engineers are expected to confidently apply strong technical fundamentals while embracing AI tools and approaches to enhance productivity, problem-solving, and innovation. Curiosity, adaptability, and enthusiasm for integrating AI into meaningful product development are essential.
Contribute to Team Culture
Engineers contribute positively to a culture of professionalism, transparency, low bureaucracy, and mutual respect, strengthening team performance through authenticity, curiosity, and collaboration.
Some of your main responsibilities will include:
Candidates with the following characteristics and experience are encouraged to apply:
AI is reshaping how software gets built, and at Karbon we’re fully committed. We don’t see AI as a replacement for engineers. We see it as a force multiplier that will elevate creativity, impact and capability to levels we’ve barely begun to imagine. We’re looking for developers who are confident in their fundamentals, driven to grow, and excited to harness AI to build something meaningful. If you’re energized by this future rather than cautious of it, you’ll feel right at home here.
We build modern, scalable software on a thoughtfully designed stack:
Our architecture continues to evolve as we scale. We invest in event-driven systems, well-defined microservices, and containerized deployments (Azure Container Apps) to build resilient, decoupled, and high-performing software.
If you care about clean service boundaries, reliable systems, and shipping with confidence — you’ll feel right at home here.
Karbon embraces diversity and inclusion, aligning with our values as a business. Research has shown that women and underrepresented groups are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single criteria. If you've made it this far in the job description but your past experience doesn't perfectly align, we do encourage you to still apply. You could still be the right person for the role!
We recruit and reward people based on capability and performance. We don’t discriminate based on race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, lifestyle, age, educational background, national origin, religion, physical or cognitive ability, and other diversity dimensions that may hinder inclusion in the organization.
Generally, if you are a good person, we want to talk to you. 😛
If there are any adjustments or accommodations that we can make to assist you during the recruitment process, and your journey at Karbon, contact us at people.support@karbonhq.com for a confidential discussion.
At this time, we request that agency referrals are not submitted for this position. We appreciate your understanding and encourage direct applications from interested candidates. Thank you!

At Optiver we are hiring the Head of Infrastructure (APAC) — a senior engineering leader and the primary regional partner to the APAC CTO and Global Head of Infrastructure. You will lead APAC infrastructure engineering capability: setting regional priorities, validating regional architectures, and ensuring the region delivers resilient, reliable, low-latency infrastructure.
This role requires both engineering pedigree and strong operational judgement. You will set regional priorities and outcomes, and you will guide, shape and assure delivery from globally managed and local teams so those outcomes are met. You will influence and validate technical designs to ensure they are fit for APAC constraints, hold teams and partners accountable for execution, and orchestrate escalations where needed. Above all, you will translate firm and APAC priorities into delivered outcomes while maintaining stakeholder confidence — making pragmatic trade-offs between latency, resilience, risk, cost and time-to-market.
In HFT, infrastructure is a competitive edge — small gains in latency, reliability or time to market directly affect success. Done well, the Head of Infrastructure (APAC) ensures regional engineering delivers the resilient platforms that improve execution, reduce risk and enable rapid delivery: you’ll set regional priorities, convene and hold teams and suppliers to account, and assure technical delivery (architectures, handoffs, major projects).
Act as the APAC Infrastructure leader: own APAC outcomes, escalations, decisions and cross-team delivery while partnering with the APAC CTO and Global Head of Infrastructure.
Ensure coherent regional delivery from globally managed teams: define and run the operating cadence, set and enforce SLAs/OKRs, remove cross-team blockers, and coordinate delivery across time zones and geographies.
Translate strategy into delivery: convert firm and APAC business priorities into clear infrastructure outcomes, term plans and measurable delivery commitments.
Be the escalation owner: own APAC-level incident and change escalation, shape postmortems and remediation, and ensure robust assurance over change & configuration controls and site resilience.
Manage the APAC operating rhythm & org leadership: set cadence, delegate effectively, hold leaders accountable, and continuously improve the region’s practices so work becomes repeatable and handover to BAU is clear.
Partner with other regional leads: work with EU, US and other regional leads to converge regional processes into global ones, share best practices, highlight regional constraints, and ensure global standards and tooling are fit-for-purpose in APAC.
Mentor and develop senior technical talent: coach senior engineers and engineering managers on leadership, operations and communication; promote psychological safety and an engineering culture of ownership and long-term thinking.
Build and maintain durable stakeholder relationships: engage business, engineering and global counterparts; provide executive-ready communication of status, risk, decisions and asks.
Take responsibility for regional talent strategy: identify leadership and performance gaps and define regional headcount and senior-hire priorities in partnership with global leads and the HRBP. Global teams will continue to own their pipelines and bench development; you will provide regional assurance, influence hiring prioritisation, and step in to recruit or accelerate capability where regional delivery requires it.
The APAC Infrastructure function operates across Sydney, Shanghai, Mumbai, Hong Kong, Japan, and is responsible for the infrastructure foundations we build and deploy our trading and non-trading environments on. You will work with globally managed engineering teams, APAC infrastructure leaders, and partner extensively with global infrastructure teams.
Strong engineering pedigree: hands-on technical experience and proven architecture/engineering leadership - preferably in infrastructure engineering and/or latency-sensitive systems.
Experience leading engineering functions at Head/Director level, defining technical roadmaps, establishing standards and growing engineering teams.
Operational judgement: able to balance engineering quality with operational reliability and business timelines.
Executive-level stakeholder skills and the ability to represent the region in global technical discussions.
Experience operating in a matrix organisation and coordinating delivery from globally managed and highly distributed teams across multiple countries and timezones.
A builder mindset: a record of driving standardisation, automation and turning bespoke solutions into durable engineering practices.
Willingness to travel: this role requires approximately 4 weeks of travel per year across the US, Europe, and APAC.
WHAT YOU'LL GET

As a Platform Engineer on the Platform Team, you'll thrive in a diverse and dynamic environment working alongside seasoned professionals, including senior developers, tech leads, and architects. This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering and DevOps — you'll build and maintain the infrastructure, tooling, and automation that powers Karbon's engineering teams while driving continuous improvement across our cloud platform
Your primary responsibilities include hands-on development, infrastructure management, and operational excellence. You'll design and evolve shared platform capabilities that improve reliability, scalability, and developer productivity across the organisation.
AI is reshaping how software gets built — and we see it as a force multiplier for engineers. You’ll be expected to use AI tools effectively to accelerate development, improve productivity, and enhance engineering workflows.
Some of your main responsibilities will include:

Balance Speed and Quality
Thank you!

At Algolia, we’re proud to be a pioneer and market leader in AI Search, empowering 17,000+ businesses to deliver blazing-fast, predictive search and browse experiences at internet scale. Every week, we power over 30 billion search requests — four times more than Microsoft Bing, Yahoo, Baidu, Yandex, and DuckDuckGo combined.
In 2021, we raised $150 million in Series D funding, quadrupling our valuation to $2.25 billion. This strong foundation enables us to keep investing in our market-leading platform and serving incredible customers like Under Armour, PetSmart, Stripe, Gymshark, and Walgreens.
The AI Research team at Algolia combines fundamental research with product engineering to deliver customer-facing AI-powered features.
The team is highly cross-functional, made up of PhD researchers, full-stack engineers, and infrastructure specialists working together to explore new ideas, validate impact, and bring successful research outcomes into production. While the work is research-driven, the output is real, customer-facing systems.
We are looking for an embedded Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join the AI Research team as a full member of the group. In this role, you will support both the research and product-engineering aspects of the team by ensuring the stability, scalability, and operability of the infrastructure that enables this work.
This is a classic SRE role focused on cloud-first, service-oriented architectures running on Google Cloud Platform. While the team builds AI-powered systems, AI or ML experience is not required for this role. Our priority is strong SRE fundamentals, experience operating production services, and comfort working in an environment with ambiguity and high ownership.
You will play an important role in day-to-day execution as well as in longer-term (12-month) planning, helping shape how the team builds and operates its platforms over time.
This role may not be a good match if:
FLEXIBLE WORKPLACE STRATEGY:
Algolia’s flexible workplace model is designed to empower all Algolians to fulfill our mission to power search and discovery with ease. We place an emphasis on an individual’s impact, contribution, and output, over their physical location. We have a global presence with offices in Paris, NYC, London, Sydney and Bucharest, however we also offer many of our team members the option to work remotely either as fully remote or hybrid-remote employees. Positions listed as "Remote" are only available for remote work within the specified country. Positions listed within a specific city are only available in that location - depending on the role it may be available with either a hybrid-remote or in-office schedule.
WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN LIVE OUR VALUES:
We’re looking for talented, passionate people to help build the world’s best search and discovery technology. We value autonomy, diversity, and collaboration. We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone is respected and supported—regardless of race, age, ancestry, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, color, veteran status, disability, or socioeconomic background.

Your expertise will be critical in enabling stable, visible and secure OT environments across Akaysha’s portfolio of assets with your work making a tangible impact as you:
Travel to AU sites once every 2-3 months or when needed, is a requirement of this position. The role can be based at Akaysha’s Melbourne (HQ), Sydney or Brisbane office with the option to work in a hybrid capacity – spending time in the office, and at home.

Our mission is simple but ambitious: help operators run better businesses while creating great guest experiences. That means solving complex, real-world problems across ticketing, point of sale, self-service, memberships, kiosks, and digital waivers, all at meaningful scale.
Just as importantly, it’s the people. We’re a team of 300+ smart, grounded, and genuinely passionate humans working across the globe. We care about quality, ownership, and doing work we’re proud of, without taking ourselves too seriously.

🚀 You'll have real ownership from day one - This isn’t a role where you’re just triaging tickets or following rigid processes. You’ll be trusted to identify problems, improve how we work, and help shape the future of security at ROLLER.
🤝 You'll work across a broad range of security domains - From cloud security and endpoint protection through IAM, DLP, and automation. It’s a great role for someone who enjoys variety and wants to keep building breadth as well as depth.
🌎 You'll get hands on with strong tooling - Including platforms like Wiz and Crowdstrike, with the freedom to push beyond out of the box usage and improve how those tools support the business.
✨ You'll have space to build and automate - We’re genuinely enthusiastic about AI automation, and we want someone who’s excited to use scripting, tooling, and creative problem-solving to make security workflows smarter and more scalable.

Progression is driven by impact and capability, not tenure, and strong performance is recognised and rewarded.
Security at ROLLER is entering a critical phase of growth! As we scale globally, handle payments, and manage sensitive customer data, the need for strong, scalable security engineering becomes increasingly important. This role is the first dedicated step toward building that capability, allowing us to move beyond reactive security and invest in proactive, engineering-led improvements.
This hire will play a key role in strengthening how we detect, respond to, and prevent security threats across our cloud infrastructure, endpoints, and applications. You’ll help improve how we prioritise and manage risk, reduce noise in alerting, and introduce smarter, more automated ways of working.
Just as importantly, you’ll help shape how security integrates into the broader business, partnering with engineering, IT, and product teams to embed security into how we build and operate, without slowing the business down.

Buildkite’s CI platform is trusted by the world’s leading engineering teams, shipping software to over 1,000,000,000 daily users.
Job Overview
We're looking for a Staff Engineer to join our Releases team. In this role, you'll help solve some of the most challenging technical problems we face as we continue to scale Buildkite's platform. You'll drive architectural decisions, lead technical strategy, and work closely with engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver impactful improvements.
Staff Engineers at Buildkite are hands-on technical leaders. You'll influence how we design, build, and scale systems while supporting other engineers to deliver their best work.
🔧 About the Team
The Releases team is building Buildkite's release control plane — a foundational layer that gives platform teams one trusted, auditable view of what shipped, where, and whether it met governance requirements.
Our initial focus is designing a canonical release model (service, environment, commit, artefact, actor, status), reliable ingestion from Pipelines and GitHub Deployments, and an immutable evidence trail that powers policy gates and DORA metrics.
Beyond that foundation, the same platform becomes a progressive delivery product: staged rollouts, canary analysis, blue/green deploys, health-based promotion, and automatic rollback. In short, we're moving from observing and governing releases to orchestrating and optimising them — integrating cleanly with existing CD systems rather than forcing a full replacement.
🚀 What You’ll Do
Own Technical Direction for the Releases Platform
Design the release architecture and core data model, including the canonical release entity and its relationships across services, environments, artefacts, and actors
Lead key technical decisions around security, reliability, and scale — particularly for the immutable evidence trail and policy gate infrastructure
Drive the hardest cross-system integrations, including ingestion from Pipelines and GitHub Deployments
Ensure the platform is extensible enough to support progressive delivery capabilities (canary analysis, staged rollouts, health-based promotion, automatic rollback) without requiring customers to replace existing CD tooling
Build and Improve the Releases Platform
Design, build, and scale tools and systems relied on by some of the best engineering teams in the world
Solve complex technical challenges around performance, reliability, and scalability
Work closely with customers and stakeholders to deeply understand their release and governance challenges, and deliver practical, high-impact solutions
Drive improvements to developer experience through better tooling, automation, and processes
Lead and Unblock
Investigate and resolve complex performance and reliability issues across the stack
Explore systems at every layer — from infrastructure patterns to backend services and data stores
Share knowledge and drive engineering best practices across teams through documentation, mentorship, and pairing
Support the wider engineering organisation by contributing to cross-team tooling, infrastructure, and frameworks
Communicate trade-offs effectively and build alignment around technical decisions
Domain Experience
Collaboration and Communication
Additional Experience
At Buildkite, we value kindness, autonomy, and collaboration. You’ll be joining a remote-first company where your work directly helps some of the world’s best engineering teams build and ship software faster and more safely.
At Buildkite, we value diversity and celebrate all types of skills, backgrounds, and experiences. We’re dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment and providing reasonable accommodations throughout our recruitment process. If you need any accommodations or support during the application or interview process, please reach out to us at accommodations@buildkite.com.
