We are hiring for this role in Japan. Your exact location within the country does not matter as the role is not office-based. There will be onsite travel to provide in-person support to customers in Tokyo.
What you will be doing:
We are currently growing our support team at ClickHouse who provides excellent service to our customers around the world. We hope to find you ready to take on a large variety of tasks related to our customers locally in Japan, as well as more regionally across APJ and EMEA. This is a customer-facing role that will include some onsite customer visits in Japan. You will be owning a wide variety of tasks: from support tickets to community support, helping with both pre- and post-sales customer activities, partnering with our Go To Market team on deeply technical aspects of POCs, and suggesting improvements to how we do things in Support at ClickHouse. This is a great opportunity for someone ready to roll up their sleeves and help us expand our regional presence in Japan!
Examples of projects you might contribute to:
- Work closely with the Support Services team, Engineering, and Product Management to help define functionality required by users and customers
- Develop solutions based on ClickHouse Cloud and ClickHouse open-source that can be shared with our users, community, and customers via documentation, knowledge base, blogs, meetups, webinars, and training
- Assist with mentoring, training, and sharing your knowledge with colleagues, users, and customers
And of course:
- You will deliver excellent customer service as a front-line engineer and representative of ClickHouse. Our Support Engineers provide professional response, on-call coverage, and guidance within the required Service Level Agreement ("SLA") on technical cases that are opened via a ticketing system, email, Slack, and/or phone
- You will build strong, trusted relationships with colleagues, customers, and partners
What you will bring along:
- Prior experience within a technical support organization
- Technical breadth and depth in relevant subjects, for example: ClickHouse DBMS or similar OLAP or SQL databases, experience with Cloud/SaaS platforms, Linux/Unix experience, experience with Kubernetes and containers, System or Network Administration experience
- Be present and available according to the scheduling and onsite travel required to deliver high-quality 24x7 Support in a global, distributed environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English
- Experience in a customer-facing role that entailed pre- and post-sales support, solution or sales engineering, consulting, and/or training
- A mindset of teamwork, global engagement, empathy, and solving challenging problems
- A sense of adventure and urgency in building the most scalable, highest performing, largest, and fastest databases on the planet
- Self-driven, curious, and eager to continuously learn and grow

The Security Team is responsible for providing key security capabilities covering application, cloud and enterprise security, incident response, detection and GRC. Our team is looking for an experienced, hands-on security practitioner, who will drive the adoption of modern security processes and tooling, with focus on supporting our detection and incident response capabilities.
What you will do:
- Develop processes, tooling and automation to scale incident management response and mitigate risks to the business
- Collaborate with other security functions, engineering, product, support, business operations to identify appropriate detection use cases and automation
- Apply a threat modeling centric approach to incident detection and response
- Maintain security logging platform
- Stay up to date with the latest threats, attack vectors to improve our detection mechanisms and attack surface management
- Handle information security events and incidents across the ClickHouse products and services
What you bring along:
- Background in product security / red teaming / penetration testing / threat modeling, combined with incident detection and response experience
- Strong knowledge of and experience with one or more cloud service providers (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience securing large-scale customer-facing cloud infrastructures
- Significant development and automation experience; preference for Golang and Python
Bonus Points:
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field

ClickHouse is seeking an engineering manager to lead our team of software engineers based in China who own our partnership with Alibaba Cloud.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and lead a high-performing technical team in China, fostering a culture of technical excellence and customer obsession
- Support Alibaba Cloud & ClickHouse partnership with deep technical expertise, driving integration, optimization, and go-to-market strategies
- Lead enterprise customer POCs from architecture design to production deployment, translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Design PB-scale real-time data warehouse architectures, leveraging ClickHouse's exceptional performance for mission-critical workloads
- Partner with global Sales, Product, and Engineering teams, representing customer needs and driving product innovation
- Represent ClickHouse at technical conferences, meetups, and community events in China
Required Qualifications
- Fluent English and Mandarin for seamless technical discussions with global teams and Chinese customers
- Outstanding customer-facing communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships at all organizational levels
- Deep database expertise - internals, query optimization, distributed systems, OLAP technologies
- Strong architecture design capabilities for large-scale, mission-critical data platforms
- PB-scale real-time data warehouse hands-on experience building and operating production systems

About the Team
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team builds and manages the foundational blocks of ClickHouse Cloud data plane end-to-end. This includes compute, networking, security, and a multi-cloud, multi-region architecture that provides a reliable and scalable managed ClickHouse experience for ClickHouse Cloud customers. Our team is looking for highly skilled and experienced cloud infrastructure software engineers to join our team, who will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining our infrastructure.
What will you do?
- Architect and build a robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure.
- Build a cutting-edge cloud-native platform on top of the public cloud, and automate our cloud resource management.
- Work closely with our ClickHouse core database development team, and security team and partner with them to produce the SAS offering.
- Work on routing and traffic components to improve the reliability and scalability of our cloud service.
- Systematically improve availability by applying industry and distributed systems best practices.
- Design and build security components & tooling: firewall, PKI and certificate infra, zero trust network, etc.
- Improve performance and cost efficiency of our infrastructure.
About you:
- 5+ years of relevant software development industry experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
- Software development experience in Go, C/C++, Java, or another OOP language.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes.
- Experience developing cloud native edge or service mesh services, preferably with envoy and Istio.
- Experience leading and shipping large scope technical projects in collaboration with multiple experienced engineers.
- Understanding of network topologies, protocols, and security principles, such as VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance standards like SOC2 and GDPR.
- You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a global team.
- You are a strong problem-solver and have solid production debugging skills.

About the Team
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team builds and manages the foundational blocks of ClickHouse Cloud data plane end-to-end. This includes compute, networking, security, and a multi-cloud, multi-region architecture that provides a reliable and scalable managed ClickHouse experience for ClickHouse Cloud customers. Our team is looking for highly skilled and experienced cloud infrastructure software engineers to join our team, who will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining our infrastructure.
What will you do?
- Architect and build a robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure.
- Build a cutting-edge cloud-native platform on top of the public cloud, and automate our cloud resource management.
- Work closely with our ClickHouse core database development team, and security team and partner with them to produce the SAS offering.
- Work on routing and traffic components to improve the reliability and scalability of our cloud service.
- Systematically improve availability by applying industry and distributed systems best practices.
- Design and build security components & tooling: firewall, PKI and certificate infra, zero trust network, etc.
- Improve performance and cost efficiency of our infrastructure.
About you:
- 5+ years of relevant software development industry experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
- Software development experience in Go, C/C++, Java, or another OOP language.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes.
- Experience developing cloud native edge or service mesh services, preferably with envoy and Istio.
- Experience leading and shipping large scope technical projects in collaboration with multiple experienced engineers.
- Understanding of network topologies, protocols, and security principles, such as VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance standards like SOC2 and GDPR.
- You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a global team.
- You are a strong problem-solver and have solid production debugging skills.

We are currently growing our support team at ClickHouse who provides excellent service to our customers around the world. We are seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join our global Support Engineering team. We hope to find you ready to take on a large variety of tasks related to our customers locally in APJ as well as more regionally across APAC and EMEA. This is a customer-facing role that will include customer interactions via chat, calls, Slack messages, and virtual meetings over video. You will be owning a wide variety of tasks: from triaging support tickets to user community support, helping with both pre- and post- sales customer activities, partnering with our Go To Market team with deeply technical aspects of POCs, and suggesting improvements to how we do things in Support at ClickHouse. This is a great opportunity for someone ready to roll-up their sleeves and help us continue to provide excellent customer support to our rapidly growing user base.
What you will be doing:
- Supporting and guiding our ClickHouse users, customers, and prospects via cases, chat, Slack, community, and meetings
- Develop solutions based on ClickHouse Cloud and ClickHouse open-source that can be shared with our users, community, and customers via documentation, knowledge base, blogs, meetups, webinars, and training
- Work closely with our global Support Services, Engineering, Go to Market, and Product Management teams to help define functionality required by users and customers
- Assist with mentoring, training, and sharing your knowledge with colleagues, users, and customers
And of course:
- You will deliver excellent customer service as a first-line technical engineer and representative of ClickHouse. Our Support Engineers provide professional response, on-call coverage, and guidance within the required Service Level Agreements ("SLAs") on technical cases that are opened via a ticketing system, email, Slack, chat, and/or phone
- You will build strong, trusted relationships with colleagues, customers, and partners
What you bring along:
- Technical breadth and depth in ClickHouse open-source or ClickHouse Cloud, or in domains relevant to ClickHouse, such as: SQL databases, OLAP, cloud-native SaaS, distributed systems
- Previous technical experience in roles such as Support Engineer, Consultant, Database Administrator, Site Reliability Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Software Engineer, and/or Systems Engineer
- Be present and available according to the scheduling required to deliver high-quality 24x7 Support in a global, distributed environment
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills and the ability to work fully remote with reliable connectivity
