The Manager of Indirect Purchasing Services and Materials is responsible for sourcing and managing contracts with external service providers for Scout Motors' Indirect Purchasing teams. This includes information technology, marketing, engineering services, & commercial operations commodity groups with an annual procurement budget up to $1 billion. Scout Motors is seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Specialist, Outbound Vehicle Logistics to drive the development, implementation, and execution of both rail and trucking operations for finished vehicle distribution from our production center in Blythewood, South Carolina. This role is critical in building a scalable, cost-effective, and high-performance outbound logistics network from the ground up.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in finished vehicle haul-away operations, carrier and rail partner management, and operational startup. This includes establishing clear and actionable Statements of Work (SOWs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and building a local field team to oversee daily execution. Cross-functional coordination with internal Scout stakeholders is essential to ensure performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Annual Pay Range

Deep understanding of business processes native to the Energy sector (such as Asset Management, Field Services, Supply Chain, Capital Projects, or Trading) with the ability to translate high-level business needs into specific, impactful AI use cases.
Expertise in generative AI techniques like RAG, few-shot learning, prompt engineering, multi-agent orchestration, multimodal understanding, or fine-tuning used to build high-impact use cases (e.g., automated processing of engineering documents, regulatory filings, or intelligent diagnostic chatbots).
Solid knowledge of Python and common ML libraries (such as LangChain, pandas, pydantic, sklearn, PyTorch) as well as data engineering tools and technologies relevant to handling large-scale industrial data.
Strong presentation skills to both internal and external stakeholders (including C-level executives and operational leaders), whether leading technical whiteboarding sessions or formal readouts and demos.

Proven track record in vendor negotiation, cost savings, and supplier relationship management.
Experience with ERP systems required; SAP experience is a plus.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team while managing multiple priorities.
Analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable making data-informed decisions that align with company goals.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Location: Remotely from the United States. Must live within an hour of a major airport and on the road 40-60% of time.
Reports to: You will report into a Regional Vice President of Sales and operate as a key member of the U.S. State & Local Law Enforcement leadership team.
