As an ML Engineering Manager, you will lead across several cross-functional teams, managing up to ~10 machine learning engineers and data scientists. You will support teams working on data- and machine-learning-driven product capabilities.
Our product teams are cross functional and will typically include product managers, designers, engineers and subject matter experts relating to the team’s domain.
You will be accountable for the technical direction and delivery outcomes of your area. You will challenge your teams to pursue ambitious goals while providing a high level of support — growing engineering talent and fostering a highly collaborative, team-based environment where people can do great work.
Your primary focus will be on building high-performing teams and driving results through others. The Proactive Threat team is responsible for identifying vulnerabilities and security weaknesses across Stripe's systems, applications, networks, and cloud infrastructure — before adversaries do. About the Team
The Data Engineering team plays a pivotal role in RTR’s technology and analytics ecosystem. The team is responsible for the data warehouse, data ingestion and transformation pipelines, and the infrastructure that enables reliable, high-quality data to flow across the company.
The team partners closely with Data Science, Business Intelligence, Machine Learning, Product, Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Engineering teams to ensure RTR’s data platform is trusted, scalable, well-governed, and able to support critical business decisions.
What You’ll Do
As an Engineering Manager for Data Engineering at Rent the Runway, you will lead the team responsible for building, operating, and evolving RTR’s core data platform. You will combine strong engineering leadership with a deep understanding of data systems, data quality, platform reliability, and stakeholder needs.
You will be responsible for leading a team of talented data engineers, setting technical direction, driving delivery of strategic data initiatives, and ensuring our data warehouse, pipelines, models, and data platform infrastructure are reliable, scalable, secure, and well-governed.

About the Job:
As a Database Administrator/Reliability Engineer, you’ll take ownership of the performance, reliability, and data governance of our cloud-managed database platforms, primarily CloudSQL(MySQL) and MongoDB.
