Role & Team
As our inaugural Senior Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in safeguarding Overstory’s systems, data, and reputation. Partnering closely with your manager - the Director of Information Security and Compliance - you will take ownership of our security and compliance posture, and define, implement, and continuously improve our security program.
You will lead initiatives across vulnerability management, compliance, and security operations, while acting as a trusted partner to engineering, product, and business teams. This role is ideal for someone who combines hands-on technical expertise with a strategic mindset and enjoys building scalable security practices in a growing company.
Time Zone Requirement: Eastern North America (NST, AST, EST)
What You’ll Do
- Own and evolve Overstory’s compliance program, ensuring ongoing alignment with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other relevant frameworks
- Drive vulnerability management end-to-end, from detection to remediation, working closely with engineering teams to prioritize and resolve risks efficiently
- Design and improve security processes and controls across infrastructure, applications, and internal systems
- Lead security input in architecture and engineering decisions, helping teams build secure-by-design systems
- Oversee and improve identity and access management, endpoint security, and core IT security practices
- Own vendor security and third-party risk management, including assessments, risk evaluation, and mitigation strategies
- Lead audit readiness and execution for SOC 2 and ISO 27001, including control design, evidence collection, and auditor coordination
- Partner with customer-facing teams to handle security questionnaires and build scalable, high-quality response processes
- Contribute to security awareness and culture, mentoring others and raising the security bar across the organization
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in security engineering, security operations, or a related field
- Direct experience with security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and/or ISO 27001, including audit processes
- Deep experience with vulnerability management, including tooling, prioritization, and remediation workflows
- Fluency working across cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern SaaS ecosystems
- Experience with identity and access management, endpoint security, and IT/security operations
- Demonstrated ability to translate security risks into clear, actionable guidance for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrable experience (or at a minimum a serious interest in) leveraging AI tooling to accelerate business impact.
- Strong written communication skills and are comfortable owning documentation and audit artifacts
- Demonstrable proactive, pragmatic mindset as well as capacity for balancing security best practices with business needs
- Experience working cross-functionally influencing without authority in a remote-first environment
Nice To Have
- Experience designing or improving SIEM, logging, and alerting pipelines
- Familiarity with compliance automation platforms (Drata, Vanta, Tugboat, etc.)
- Experience leading or owning SOC 2 / ISO 27001 audits
- Background in application or cloud security engineering

Role & Team
We are looking for an AI-experienced Delivery Operations Manager to own and improve how we deliver results to customers across complex, multi-team workflows.
This is not a traditional project management role. You will design and implement AI systems that replace manual coordination with automation, reduce delivery risk, and give real-time visibility into progress across teams.You’ll work across Customer Success, Product and Engineering to ensure that fast paced, dependency-heavy delivery cycles stay on track—with fewer meetings, clearer ownership and earlier risk detection.

What You’ll Do

Role & Team
As an Applied Analytics Lead at Overstory, you will play a critical role in linking our customer impact, data analytics, and product direction. Overstory’s vegetation intelligence technology provides industry-leading insights that help utilities improve their operational and strategic decisions. You’ll be the “tip of the spear,” working directly with utility customers to conceive of and deliver actionable analyses to solve their most pressing problems, while helping identify which solutions should inform our next generation of product capabilities.
This is a strategically significant hands-on role for someone who wants to move from advising on problems to owning them: using analytics to help utility customers turn Overstory insights into action today, and using what we learn to shape the product that scales that impact tomorrow.

What You’ll Do
Drive customer impact through analytics
- Own end-to-end analytical work for existing and new utility customers, in close partnership with Customer Success.
- Solve customer problems by bringing your full client advisory toolkit to bear: understand their goals and constraints, structure and analyze the problem, communicate and iterate on results, and guide to take action and create real-world impact
- Analyze large, complex datasets from Overstory’s platform, customer systems, and third-party sources and deliver outputs in the format that creates the most value: Excel models, presentations, in-product workflows, and lightweight prototypes that can inform future product development.
- Bring creativity, drive, and a curious, customer-first mindset to everything you do, ensuring customers maximize the value of our vegetation risk insights
Help shape what we build next
- Identify patterns across customer needs, use cases, and analytical projects, and translate them into clear opportunities for product development.
- Help determine which customer solutions should remain bespoke, which should become repeatable workflows, and which should evolve into scalable product capabilities.
- Partner closely with product teams to define frameworks, metrics, prototypes, and product ideas that improve how customers use and realize value from Overstory’s insights.
- Bring a deep understanding of customer decision-making, data needs, and operational realities into roadmap discussions and product prioritization.

- Create processes, templates, and playbooks that become a core part of our customer experience.

Skills & Experience
- Passionate about tackling climate challenges with data-driven solutions.
- 3-5 years of professional experience managing customer relationships as a trusted advisor/counterpart; extremely comfortable in front of customers.
- Excited by the opportunity to use customer-facing analytical work to influence product direction and help build more scalable solutions over time.
- Strong experience working with large, complex datasets to create valuable business insights; can break down large problems into smaller, easier-to-digest parts
- Proficiency in Excel for data modeling and analysis.
- Demonstrable track record of learning new technical analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python / pandas, geospatial analysis tools)
- Demonstrable experience (or at a minimum a serious interest in) leveraging AI tooling to accelerate business impact.
- Proven ability to solve ambiguous problems, listen actively, collaborate with stakeholders, and lead through influence.

Role & Team
As a Data Engineering Manager, you will lead across several cross-functional teams, managing up to ~10 data engineers and GIS specialists. You will support teams working on data processing and pipelines to enable ML-powered product capabilities.
Our product teams are cross functional and will typically include product managers, designers, engineers and subject matter experts relating to the team’s domain.
You will be accountable for the technical direction and delivery outcomes of your area. You will challenge your teams to pursue ambitious goals while providing a high level of support — growing engineering talent and fostering a highly collaborative, team-based environment where people can do great work.
Your primary focus will be on building high-performing teams and driving results through others. You will not be expected to spend significant time doing hands-on coding; however, you will be expected to dive deep technically when required and leverage your experience to support strong technical decision-making.

Skills & Experience
- Experience working in a high growth scaleup environment
- Passionate about climate
- Product minded and able to demonstrate significant impact you have had on a business through the application of data platforms and data-driven systems
- 2+ years experience leading and managing data engineers across multiple teams
- Experience working with the following (or similar) technologies: Python, SQL, data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Dagster), data warehouses/lakehouses, Postgres DB, data pipelines
- Ability to unblock your team by contributing at a senior engineering level (e.g., reviewing data models, debugging pipelines, guiding architecture). How hands-on you'll be in this role will depend on team size and maturity
- Comfortable working in a build it, run it environment (GCP, cloud run, grafana, k8s) - or similar, with an understanding of data reliability, observability, and pipeline operations
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and coach engineers at all levels
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment
- Passion for learning and staying updated with evolving technologies and industry trends, particularly in data engineering and data infrastructure

As a Senior Engineer, you will have a direct impact on the development of core geospatial products and internal data-processing and annotation tools at Overstory.

Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a senior software engineer
- Skilled in designing ETL pipelines with near-real-time orchestration, in Python.
- Strong background building and maintaining scalable web-applications with React, FastAPI, PostgreSQL
- Experience with XP practices such as TDD or trunk based development. The team would be new to these practices
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to various audience
Nice To Have
- Experience with the Geospatial ecosystem such as PostGIS, Geopandas or Deck.GL
- Experience with Dagster, Airflow or similar orchestration frameworks

Role & Team
As a Staff Engineer, you will work across multiple teams to evolve a suite of web and internal tools that enable utility companies to more effectively manage risks associated with climate change and wildfires.

Role & Team
As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Overstory, you will lead the development and scaling of our Wildfire Fuel Detection Model. This core engine powers how we understand vegetation structure, fuel loads, and wildfire risk from satellite and environmental data. You’ll help shape the next generation of Overstory’s modeling capabilities by combining cutting-edge ML techniques, large-scale geospatial data, and real-world domain expertise.
Reporting to our VP of Product Engineering, you’ll work closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and product teams to ensure our wildfire models are accurate, robust, and production-ready – balancing scientific rigor with practical engineering excellence. As a senior technical leader, you’ll mentor other engineers, drive architectural decisions, and define standards for modeling, experimentation, and deployment across Overstory.

Role & Team
We’re looking for a Product Designer to play a leading role in shaping our customer-facing product. This is a role for someone entrepreneurial who wants to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty with designing a product in its early stages. Reporting to the Head of Design, you’ll work closely with the rest of a dedicated team to build Overstory so that it has a giant impact on the world.
For this role we are looking to hire in the US or Canada (East Coast preferred), to be in close proximity to our customers. The team you would be working day-to-day with is distributed throughout the US and Europe.

What You’ll Do
- Lead the end-to-end product design process of our customer-facing product including user research, wireframes, prototypes, flows, detailed design specs and QA.
- Understand engineering and business constraints to create shippable solutions to users’ problems, and continuously validate the solutions with customers.
- Lay out a design vision for what's possible by quickly iterating, knowing when to pay attention to detail and when to make low-fi sketches and prototypes.

We are looking for a Senior Manager of Demand Generation to architect, execute, and optimize our full-funnel growth engine across a focused set of strategic accounts. This is a high-impact role responsible for building and scaling account-based marketing (ABM) programs that generate awareness, accelerate pipeline, and drive measurable revenue outcomes.
Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you’ll play a pivotal role in defining how we reach, influence, and convert our most important customers — developing the programs, campaigns, and insights that fuel predictable, data-driven growth.
You will own the strategy, channels, and measurement framework that underpin demand creation — from digital advertising and website conversion to ABM orchestration, nurture journeys, and marketing attribution. Role & Team
At Overstory, the Enterprise Customer Success Manager is responsible for building deep, strategic relationships with our most important customers - guiding them through delivery seasons, driving organizational change, and expanding and renewing contracts. With a strong grasp of both customer needs and the Overstory platform, your goal is to make our customers measurably successful. This individual will report to our Head of Customer Success.

What You'll Do
- Manage 1-3 of our most strategic accounts in California, serving as their primary point of contact and trusted advisor.
- Strengthen and expand relationships with key stakeholders, continuously understanding their evolving needs and what drives success for their organization.
- Coordinate with technical teams to ensure feasible planning and on-time, high-quality execution throughout the delivery season.
- Drive change management and adoption - working closely with customer teams to embed Overstory into their workflows, build internal champions, and ensure the product delivers lasting value across the organization.
- Work closely with the product team to inform the roadmap. Because of your deep proximity to customer needs, you will have a meaningful opportunity to shape how the product evolves.
- Identify and execute on expansion opportunities - including upsells and new product adoption - to grow the strategic value of each account.
Skills & Experience
- Progressive experience working with California-based utilities.
- Demonstrated track record of driving real outcomes in the utility sector - including measurable operational improvements, successful program rollouts, and organizational change that sticks.
- Experience leading change management efforts within large, complex utility organizations - navigating stakeholders, building buy-in across levels, and turning new technology or processes into lasting workflow adoption.
- 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing role, with a track record of successfully managing complex projects from start to finish.
- Commercial experience that has contributed to business growth - whether in customer success, consulting, or an equivalent role.
- Willingness/ability to travel locally for on-site customer visits (driver's license required), with occasional travel for industry conferences.

Role & Team
We’re looking for a Director of Platform & Infrastructure to own and evolve our core engineering foundations. Reporting to our VP of Product Engineering, this role will lead SRE, MLOps, and Platform teams with a mandate to create leverage across the entire organization.
As a scaling startup, we’re evolving from early-stage infrastructure to a more mature, reliable platform that can support rapid product development and growing customer demand. This role is critical in helping us make that transition — building systems, standards, and teams that enable speed today while laying the foundation for long-term scale.
Partnering closely with product, data, and application engineering teams, you will set the technical vision, define best practices, and ensure our infrastructure enables teams to move fast with confidence.

What You'll Do
- Own the platform strategy across Platform, MLOps, and SRE, aligning it with company and product goals

- 10+ years experience leading platform, infrastructure, or reliability teams in a scaling startup environment, including navigating ambiguity, rapid growth, and the transition from early-stage systems to more mature, repeatable platforms
- Strong understanding of cloud-native infrastructure (GCP strongly preferred), Kubernetes, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices
- Experience supporting machine learning systems in production, including model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management
- A track record of building reliable, scalable systems used by fast-moving product teams
- Excellent people leadership skills — you know how to coach managers, grow talent, and build inclusive, high-performing teams
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across org boundaries

Role & Team
Our engineering team is growing! We are looking for multiple senior full stack engineers to join our web product team(s) and help us scale our product suite.
As a Senior Software Engineer at Overstory, you will have a direct impact on our mission by building new capabilities and features that in turn enable utility companies to more effectively manage risks associated with climate change, wildfires and storms. The Role
As the CTO of Overstory, you will lead and scale a world-class engineering team that reduces the risk of wildfires and power outages around the world. This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned engineering leader to help guide a commercially successful climate-tech company through its next stage of growth.
Following our Series B, we’re entering a phase of rapid expansion. You will define a compelling technical strategy and build the team to deliver it. This role requires someone who can zoom in and out seamlessly — rolling up your sleeves to solve complex technical problems while also communicating effectively with the board.
Our product sits at the intersection of AI and remote sensing — fields evolving at light speed.
