We are looking for an outstanding and visionary product leader who is passionate about serving the developer community. This person will define and drive the execution of our product strategy and roadmap across the developer journey with a portfolio that spans MongoDB's traditional developer tools, MongoDB Compass, mongosh (MongoDB’s shell), Atlas CLI, IDE integrations and extensions and local development experiences, to libraries such as language drivers and application frameworks, to MongoDB’s offerings to support those on the forefront of developing with AI–such as our MCP server and AI framework support. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders at every level of the organization, including executive leadership and cross-functional teams across multiple business units, to ensure that all MongoDB features are seamlessly woven into one of the best developer experiences in technology as we move into the age of AI.   

Your leadership in this role will be instrumental in not just maintaining, but increasing and intensifying developers’ love of MongoDB.

• Lead and develop a high-performing product team. You'll engage deeply with engineering directors and architects on decisions involving network protocols, distributed systems, client libraries, and simplification of our driver stack. You won't write the code, but you'll need to understand it well enough to help the team make the right tradeoffs, communicate confidently with technical customers, and be a strong advocate for the developers out there who are building on MongoDB
• Champion AI as a first-class capability. Developers are both increasingly relying on AI to build but also build AI-native applications, and MongoDB is at the center of this shift. You'll help ensure our developer tooling is purpose-built for the AI era — and you'll bring genuine enthusiasm for what that means for the products your team owns
• Partner deeply with engineering and design. You'll be a trusted counterpart — not a gatekeeper — to your engineering and design partners. When hard prioritization calls have to be made, you'll bring the team along with transparency and clear reasoning
• Drive go-to-market as a product leader. You understand what a productive collaboration with product marketing looks like. What We're Looking For

• 12+ years of product management or engineering experience, including meaningful time managing product teams and managers
• A strong track record of taking complex, technically sophisticated products from 0 to shipped — and the coaching instincts to help others do the same
• Deep technical credibility: you can engage confidently on topics like client libraries, network protocols, distributed systems, and developer tooling — because you've built software yourself at some point in your career
• Real-world experience building products for developers — you've felt the pain firsthand and you know what moves the needle

Within 60 days:

• Evolve the existing vision and strategy for the Developer Experience portfolio
• Further establish a metrics framework that connects developer tooling outcomes to broader business goals
• Actively participate in hiring, performance conversations, and team development activities

Within 90 days:

• Ship meaningful improvements across the portfolio that demonstrably improve developer activation and satisfaction

We are looking for an outstanding Product Manager experienced working with developer products and technologies and comfortable evolving to the rapidly changing development landscape in the age of AI.
