We are looking for a Back End/Full Stack Engineer who values creativity and user experience as much as great code and curiosity. As an engineer on the Consumer Retention team, you will work with an enthusiastic team of engineers focused on the stages of the customer journey across multiple devices and surfaces, increasing customer loyalty and reducing subscription churn. We manage loyalty platform, membership, personalisation, add-ons, and customer promise to build world-class experiences for an eager and passionate customer base, from their first visit to their first order! Our team works in an agile environment, building high-quality, performant software while solving high-impact and complex problems

What You’ll Do:

• Participate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment.
• Develop clean, testable, scalable systems using Java, Kotlin, Dropwizard, SpringBoot, Redis, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Spring Boot, Splunk, MySQL and other open source technologies.

About You:

BA/BS in Computer Science, a related degree, or 4+ years of practical experience.

• You have hands-on, production-level experience across significant parts of our technology stack: 
• Backend: Java, Kotlin, SpringBoot, RabbitMQ, MySQL, MongoDB.
• Frontend: ReactJS, Next.js.
• You have experience and enthusiasm for testing, test-driven development, and building reliable systems.
• You have a strong command of best practices, design patterns, and system architecture tradeoffs.
• You can hit the ground running and quickly familiarize yourself with an existing codebase and toolset.
• You have experience with distributed system performance analysis and optimisation.
• You can understand, diagnose, and articulate technical challenges and solutions effectively.

• You have expertise in prompt engineering, focusing on high-density context provision to minimise hallucinations and maximise model accuracy.
• You are skilled in defining AI behaviour through structured system prompts and custom agent configurations for predictable, high-quality output.

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) you will have the opportunity to contribute to technology initiatives in the realm of cloud infrastructure, software delivery and observability. You will be responsible for building and developing tooling, policies, and processes to advance Rent The Runway to higher levels of scale, and performance. You will have the opportunity to lead assigned projects, and be responsible for the overall delivery of these initiatives. You will be part of a high-impact engagement with the Platform Engineering team delivering operational excellence through system automation, self-service and developer tooling that empowers the entire organisation to deliver exceptional results for our customers.

What You’ll Do:

• Utilise technologies and languages like Terraform, Helm, Python, Go, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of GCP and services to drive service reliability.
• Implement software development practices to build observability, alerting, tracing, automation, and self-healing capabilities to maintain the highest levels of platform availability.
• End-to-end coordination across platforms, while supporting, identifying, responding, and reporting of issues; then escalating to respective teams for remediation promptly.

About the Team

The Data Engineering team plays a pivotal role in RTR’s technology and analytics ecosystem. The team is responsible for the data warehouse, data ingestion and transformation pipelines, and the infrastructure that enables reliable, high-quality data to flow across the company.

The team partners closely with Data Science, Business Intelligence, Machine Learning, Product, Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Engineering teams to ensure RTR’s data platform is trusted, scalable, well-governed, and able to support critical business decisions.

What You’ll Do

As an Engineering Manager for Data Engineering at Rent the Runway, you will lead the team responsible for building, operating, and evolving RTR’s core data platform. You will combine strong engineering leadership with a deep understanding of data systems, data quality, platform reliability, and stakeholder needs.

You will be responsible for leading a team of talented data engineers, setting technical direction, driving delivery of strategic data initiatives, and ensuring our data warehouse, pipelines, models, and data platform infrastructure are reliable, scalable, secure, and well-governed.

About the Job:

As a Database Administrator/Reliability Engineer, you’ll take ownership of the performance, reliability, and data governance of our cloud-managed database platforms, primarily CloudSQL(MySQL) and MongoDB. A key part of the role is driving data lifecycle management — including pruning, archiving, and retention policies — to ensure our platform remains clean, compliant, and cost-efficient. You'll collaborate with engineering teams to optimize query performance, advance automation efforts, and evolve our database operations toward a modern, cloud-native, infrastructure-as-code model. As part of our broader data platform transformation, you’ll have the opportunity to take on scoped work in support of the Data Engineering team — contributing to the data platform rebuild through your expertise in database performance, structure, and governance. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role that plays a critical part in maintaining a scalable, governed, and low-maintenance data foundation as the business grows.

What You’ll Do:

• Availability & Reliability: Manage and optimise CloudSQL and MongoDB environments for performance, reliability, recovery, and cost.
• Data Administration: Improve platform efficiency through query tuning, schema design, and automation.
• Data Governance: Implement data lifecycle and governance practices (e.g. pruning, retention, access control).
• Change Management: Develop maintenance and operations automation through CI/CD pipelines, ensuring that database data and schema changes along with infrastructure updates are seamless and audited.

About You

• You have 6+ years of experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Postgres) in production, including cloud-managed services like CloudSQL or RDS
• You have 2+ years of hands-on experience with MongoDB, including performance tuning and applying governance or lifecycle practices
• You’ve worked in cloud-native environments (preferably GCP) and are comfortable using Terraform or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tools
• You are proficient in Python (or another general-purpose language) for scripting, automation, or infrastructure workflows
• You have experience implementing CI/CD workflows for database changes and are familiar with Git-based deployment
• You’ve contributed to or enforced data governance policies such as retention, pruning, and access controls
• You’ve made measurable improvements to platform performance, cost, or reliability — including optimizing indexing strategies, query patterns, and database schema design

Data is core to our growing business and has been ingrained in the company's DNA since its founding. As a member of the Data Analytics team, you will arm stakeholders with data to measure performance, insights, and drive continuous improvements across the company. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining RTR’s core data models, defining and analyzing performance metrics, building reports, and enabling self-service report solutions. Data analytics is an important team within the RTR Customer organization.

About you:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with large, complex data sets.
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics…); advanced degrees and/or specializations a plus.
• Highly proficient in SQL, with the ability to write efficient, optimized queries for large-scale datasets.
• Experience with data analytics tools such as Looker or Tableau to build dashboards and reports.

As a core function of the CISO Organization, the Privacy Manager owns and manages the operations of RTR’s privacy program. Working closely with the Senior Director of Information Security, you will be responsible for assessing, evaluating and raising the overall maturity of privacy processes and controls. Reporting directly to the VP of Internal Audit based in New York, you will serve as the subject matter expert for IT General Controls (ITGC) and Automated Application Controls. This is a high-visibility, third-line of defence role where you will own the SOX lifecycle for our technology environment from initial risk assessment and scoping to final deficiency evaluation and remediation. 

You will partner closely with our 2nd Line of Defence (Senior Compliance Analyst) to align on risk assessments and control frameworks. As Senior Corporate Paralegal, you will meaningfully impact Rent the Runway and its Legal team, primarily by assisting with public company filings and processes, and managing administrative aspects of the Legal team to ensure its operational effectiveness.

Position Overview:

This role is an entry-level position.

The Safety Coordinator serves as a designated safety representative of the assigned dream fulfillment center (DFC), coordinating and implementing all areas of the Rent the Runway’s (RTR) Safety Program as directed by the Sr. Manager of EHS. You will influence behavior and inspire commitment on the part of all personnel in complying with RTR’s safety standards and maintaining a safe work environment. This will include conducting training and coaching associates on observed work habits in support of this effort. A Safety Coordinator is a servant leader; dive in, roll up your sleeves to help in any situation, make tools available, remove obstacles for associates to excel in their roles, have empathy and compassion for associates, and the passion and leadership to stand up for them when the time arises.

What You’ll Do:

• Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through the process of doing daily, weekly, and monthly audits.
• Facilitate incident investigation process
• Lead and participate in any investigations involving workplace incidents involving equipment and employees, along with investigations related to fleet safety.

As the Manager, CX BPO, WFM & Programs, you are responsible for ensuring the high caliber of work and service across the onshore Customer Experience team and our offshore partners. • Highly proficient in SQL, with the ability to write efficient, optimized queries for large-scale datasets.
• Experience building and maintaining dashboards in Looker or similar BI tools.
• Demonstrated experience with data modeling, dimensional modeling, and dbt.
• Experience with code management and deployment on GitHub.
• Demonstrated ability to lead analytics or reporting projects end-to-end, from scoping to stakeholder communication.

Overall responsibility for performing duties and assisting management within the engineering operation of a fulfillment and distribution environment, or other facilities as directed by management.
