About the role : Systemiq is looking for a Strategy Associate to join our growing Sustainable Finance practice in Kenya, focused on public and development finance. You will help governments and public finance institutions to strengthen financing strategies and mobilise capital for climate, nature and development priorities.

This is a strategy advisory role: working within small, collaborative teams, you will support complex advisory engagements and multi-stakeholder initiatives spanning governments, IFIs/DFIs, bilateral donors and the private sector. You will contribute to workstreams that draw on expertise across Systemiq and external partners, and over time you will have opportunities to shape and lead your own workstreams within the sustainable finance space.

This role blends macro-level strategic thinking with strong research and analytical skills, excellent stakeholder engagement and communication, and the ability to deliver high-quality outputs in fast-moving, stakeholder-heavy contexts. Strategy consulting experience is welcome but not essential.

What you’ll do

• Help support or lead workstreams and deliver high-quality advisory support on public and development finance for climate and nature outcomes.
• Develop structured analysis and synthesize complex information into client-ready materials (strategy decks, technical notes, briefing packs).
• Drive development of sovereign financing strategies, including consideration of macroeconomic context, sovereign risk, debt sustainability and credit dynamics.
• Help design, shape, and assess financing approaches and instruments, including concessional and blended finance, sustainability-linked bonds/loans, debt-for-climate/nature swaps, and risk-sharing structures.
• Support stakeholder engagement across ministries, debt management offices, central banks, IFIs/DFIs, donors and private sector partners, including workshops and convenings.
• Contribute to proposal development, thought leadership and knowledge building within the team.

Mindset, skills & experience

Essential

• Degree/Masters – Economics/Finance/International Development especially welcome
• 2–5+ years of relevant experience, for example in:
• strategy consulting (sustainable finance focus)
• international financial institutions (e.g., IMF, World Bank, AfDB),
• central banks or debt management offices,
• credit rating agencies,
• sovereign research / strategy teams,
• finance ministries or public finance roles,
• development finance / advisory roles with strong sovereign finance exposure.
• Familiarity with the sovereign financing landscape, including concessional finance, blended finance and/or climate and nature instruments e.g. sustainability-linked bonds/loans, debt-for-climate/nature swaps etc.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and research skills — able to synthesise complex material into clear, structured outputs.
• Excellent communication in English (written and verbal), and demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills
• Strong project discipline and ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
• Collaborative team player with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong mission alignment.

Desirable

• Formal study in economics, with a focus on macroeconomics, development economics, climate economics and/or nature economics
• Exposure to public-sector policy or planning, for example within finance ministries, environment ministries, or IFIs/DFIs.
• Familiarity with Sub-Saharan African sovereign contexts and financing priorities.
• Experience supporting stakeholder consultations, convenings or government-facing processes.
• Additional languages (e.g., Swahili, French).

We have an opportunity to join our Grants Team, which is led by our Global Grants and Partnerships Manager, and sits within our Operations Finance team. The Grants Team works across all our locations, supporting dozens of grants projects.

Grants funding is crucial for SYSTEMIQ’s work; annually it accounts for more than 50% of our project revenues. Management of such grant funding requires ensuring spend is impact-oriented and in compliance with both funders’ contractual requirements and SYSTEMIQ’s standards.

You will also be a crucial part of starting out our presence in Nairobi, and helping to shape our work in the region in the grants space.

About the role

As a Project Grants Finance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high quality management and oversight of several workstreams that are supported by funding from government, philanthropy and corporate funding sources. You will manage a portfolio of projects, including a large multiyear multimillion grants project funded by NORAD.

You will work closely with a range of internal stakeholders, including senior management, project delivery teams, Systemiq’s Global grants team, and the global finance team, PMO and legal team during the entire lifecycle of projects. Project staff are based across all our locations, and most global operations staff are based in London and Jakarta. Your Line Manager will be our Global Grants Finance Manager, who is based in Berlin.

The key focus of the role is to ensure compliance with company processes and policies, as well as project contractual requirements on due diligence, financial management, expenditure and invoicing, procurement and project auditing and reporting.

In addition, you will play a key role in supporting and developing relationships with funders and delivery partners and helping us to build out our funding network for our grants work in the region.

Project Preparation:

• Develop project budgets and financial plans for project grant funding proposals
• Support our project teams to negotiate cost-efficient budgets and demonstrate value for money
• Ensure project budgeting, staffing plans and preparation complies with company practice and client’s financial control requirements
• Complete formal proposal application processes

Project Delivery:

• Ensure project’s financial requirements are adhered to in relation to company policy, funder requirements and applicable laws and regulations
• Ensure compliance with company and funder procurement rules, and oversee large-scale procurement and tender processes for goods and services
• Lead downstream subcontracting and subgranting, including large-scale procurements for supply of goods and services
• Lead project audits, including sample data, field work and auditor communications
• Liaise with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to ensure correct invoicing for funders and suppliers, and track project cashflows
• Complete monthly financial forecasting and expenditure reconciliations to track cashflows and monitor financial position of our largest grants projects, supporting project planning and progress reporting against project delivery framework
• Prepare financial status reports for project and finance team leadership
• Prepare external financial, budgetary and accounting reports to clients / funders
• Liaise with PMO to set up new project finances and close finances of completed projects
• Provide guidance and documentation to the project team to support effective project financial management

General:

• Design and delivery of training materials and workshops on grants financial management
• Support annual company audit processes as required
• Support company’s financial controls, financial planning and financial analysis process (including budget forecasting, proposal pipeline monitoring and invoicing)
• Contribute to company’s best practice development for project financial management and expert grants financial management

• Education: A relevant postgraduate degree focused on international development (public administration, public policy, development economics, governance and institutions).

Senior Manager/Manager – Scaling and Innovation Team (Global)

You will join Instiglio’s Scaling & Innovation Team — the engine driving Instiglio’s ambition to go from impact to impact at scale. Our mission is threefold: develop pathways to scale Instiglio’s proven approaches, incubate Instiglio’s presence in new regions, and design and spearhead new impact solutions that push the frontier of what’s possible in development.

We pursue this mission through two primary strategies:

1. Scaling partnerships with large development institutions: The core of this team’s work. We partner with major multilateral development banks (MDBs), bilateral agencies, and large philanthropies to strengthen how they drive outcomes at scale — combining impact strategy with deep change management. This isn’t traditional consulting: we embed ourselves in institutional transformation, helping partners overhaul their impact strategies, build internal capabilities, and implement reforms that cascade through the systems they fund. A flagship example is our four-year engagement with the Global Fund, where we supported the scale-up of results-based financing (RBF) to 15 countries, built core institutional capabilities, and helped embed a results-oriented performance culture. Similar partnerships are underway with institutions like the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the Swiss Development Cooperation, the IDB, and leading philanthropies.
2. Innovation: Beyond scaling, the team spearheads new impact solutions. Recent examples include an AI-driven reform assistant for government decision-makers, pull finance mechanisms for adoption of climate technology, and practical work on making health regulations drive better outcomes. This is where we prototype the next generation of Instiglio’s tools.

The team also leads the Government Empowerment Network (GEN) — though this is a secondary focus of the role. GEN is Instiglio’s global network that inspires and empowers civil service champions to drive transformational change from within their institutions. It combines an eight-month reform incubator — providing mentorship, peer exchange, and real-time coaching grounded in reform science — with an AI-powered platform connecting public leaders to curated knowledge and global practitioner networks. Launched in Uganda in 2025, with cohorts in Colombia and Morocco following, GEN aims to support 1,500 champion teams and drive 200 institutional transformations impacting 190 million citizens by 2030.

About this role

GiveDirectly is scaling its emergency response operations to reach more people, faster, with cash in the wake of crises. As a Manager on the Humanitarian team, you will play a critical role in supporting the design and delivery of rapid cash responses globally. Tupande Procurement Senior Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring smooth and efficient execution of procurement projects by closely aligning with business units (BUs) needs, controlling spend, and improving procurement processes. This role involves managing the full procurement lifecycle for assigned BU procurement  projects, supporting supplier and stakeholder relationships, driving process improvements, and maintaining strict contract management and compliance. The coordinator also provides performance tracking and reporting to facilitate strategic decision-making and continuous enhancement of procurement activities.

Responsibilities

High quality procurement project coordination and execution

• Manages full procurement lifecycle for operational needs including documentation and PO processing within approved strategies and policies, for assigned BU projects.
• Support procurement project implementation  with minimal support from Tupande Procurement Specialist.

About this role

GiveDirectly has established a Product team responsible for identifying new program areas for exploration and implementation, as well as deepening our impact in existing program areas. Products at GiveDirectly are double-sided - serving the needs of our recipients on one side, and donors on the other - and include large technology components as well as the careful design of in-person operations. They range from our flagship large lump sum cash work to highly targeted support for specific populations or locations; the Product team works across fundraising, program implementation, and Research and Technology to build end-to-end programs and bring them to market. Building on recent evidence that large, unconditional cash transfers can significantly reduce infant mortality, GiveDirectly is building a “Mothers & Babies” product that provides large cash transfers to expectant mothers to improve maternal and newborn outcomes. The demands on this product are two-sided: it must deliver a high-quality, dignified experience for recipients and build durable donor conviction that this is a top-tier use of philanthropic and (eventually) public funds.

This role will lead the end-to-end product strategy and execution across multiple countries and partnerships, assembling and driving a cross-functional team spanning Programs, Research/M&E, Partnerships, and Safeguarding. You’ll set the learning agenda, pressure-test and iterate on program design, and translate evidence and delivery performance into a compelling case and readiness for scale. 

What success looks like

By the end of 2026, we can credibly say “this works and we can scale it,” backed by:

• Impact validation: a clear, defensible impact story with leading indicators (and a credible path to rigorous evaluation where needed)
• Delivery validation: operational clarity on targeting and verification; reliable, on-time payment delivery; a playbook for partnerships with health organizations that works across contexts
• Donor validation: strong donor interest and commitments, ideally from both HNW and institutional funders, with a robust pipeline and clear “requirements” for scale (e.g. what it would take for donors to fund at scale)
• Unit economics: a clear model for cost per outcome and the path to improved efficiency at scale, including tradeoffs between operating with partners vs. in-housing program components

What you'll do:

Set strategy, define the hypotheses, and drive focus

• Own the product vision and multi-year strategy, translating it into annual and quarterly goals and clear “go/no-go” decision points.
• Define and maintain the core “hypotheses” that ground GiveDirectly’s investment in this product (impact/value, feasibility/delivery, and growth/fundability), including what evidence would change our confidence.
• Build a crisp roadmap that separates (a) what must be proven, (b) what must be built, and (c) what must be scaled—then ruthlessly prioritize to match the year’s goal.

Design and iterate on program model and recipient experience

• Lead program design choices (e.g., transfer size, timing/cadence, etc), grounded in evidence and operational realities.
• Ensure the program meets a high bar for recipient dignity, safeguarding, consent, and clarity - especially given the sensitivity of pregnancy and newborn outcomes.
• Partner closely with programs teams to identify where reality diverges from our plans, diagnose root causes, and implement adaptations quickly and thoughtfully.

Build scalable delivery and partnership models

• Identify, evaluate, and manage partners critical to targeting and outcomes (e.g., community health NGOs, health facilities, government health systems, digital maternal health platforms).
• Define the operating model: what GiveDirectly must do vs. what partners can do better (and cheaper), and how responsibilities, incentives, data flows, and accountability work.
• Develop playbooks for recipient targeting/verification, enrollment of pregnant women, payment timing, troubleshooting, and issue escalation—then standardize across countries where appropriate.
• Define the tech needs for delivery and scale (e.g., digital identification/enrollment pathways, system integrations with health registries where feasible, 2-way messaging for consent/verification, automation to reduce delays/failures).

Drive the learning agenda and evidence narrative

• Set the measurement strategy and learning agenda: leading indicators, qualitative insight loops, and (where appropriate) the path to rigorous evaluation.
• Work with research/MEAL to ensure we’re collecting the “decision-grade” evidence we need (not just reporting metrics), including how findings translate into product decisions.
• Package evidence into a narrative that is legible and persuasive to donors, partners, and policy stakeholders—without overselling or handwaving uncertainty.

Support fundraising and go-to-market

• Build the product’s “go-to-market” posture: positioning, target donor segments, proof points, and the pitch narrative that unlocks scale.
• Partner with fundraising to shape pipeline strategy and support key conversations—especially where product credibility and evidence are decisive.
• Establish a cadence of tight updates and materials that make it easy for relationship owners to sell the product confidently.

Lead cross-functional execution without formal authority

• Assemble and run a high-performing cross-functional team, setting operating rhythms, decision forums, and clarity on ownership.
• Build alignment across stakeholders (country leadership, research, fundraising, tech) and “cleanly escalate” when tradeoffs need senior resolution.

About this role

GiveDirectly is scaling its emergency response operations to reach more people, faster, with cash in the wake of crises. As a Senior Manager on the Humanitarian team, you will play a key role in launching and overseeing rapid cash responses globally. You’ll drive organizational readiness, design response strategies, manage program implementation, and support fundraising by translating field insights into compelling cases for support. Design and implement high-quality programming:

• Oversee end-to-end design, planning, and execution of improvements to emergency response capabilities, coordinating internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery

Qualifications

About the Role

From R&D to sales to strategy to operations, the Global R&D Data Analyst has the unique opportunity to improve decision-making across all aspects of One Acre Fund’s program using many diverse data types, such as sales, yield, demographic and satellite data, to help us reach more farmers with greater impact. 

The Global R&D Data Analyst will help us reach over one million farmers by executing analyses for strategic decision-making on repayment, expansion, and other business functions, and work directly with program leaders to interpret results and make data-driven decisions. The Global R&D Data Analyst will play an integral role in shaping One Acre Fund’s data strategy, including dreaming up and executing new ways to use our data to improve our program.

Additionally, One Acre Fund has a robust agronomic and socioeconomic research program spanning all countries of operation. This role will work closely with country R&D teams to ensure all trials are executed at the highest possible standards, provide follow-up analytical support and training to team members, and support with warehousing of our agronomic data to make our research outputs accessible to external collaborators, further increasing One Acre Fund’s smallholder farmer impact across the continent.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be a strong communicator and have a solid analytical background with experience in experimental design. You will need to be comfortable interpreting ambiguous results generated with imperfect data and advising leaders on the relative risk associated with different decisions based on the results of your analysis. 

This is a deliberately hybrid role. Success requires the ability to operate effectively as:

• an experimental methodologist (trial design & causal inference),
• an applied data scientist (production analytics, geospatial methods, modelling), and
• a delivery-oriented project manager (prioritisation, documentation, coordination).

Responsibilities

Own methodological rigour and analytical quality for trials and surveys (30%):

• Design and analyse trials and surveys, including:
  • Sample size and power calculations
  • Stratification and experimental design
  • Recommend the appropriate statistical methods (e.g., hypothesis testing, regression, ANOVA/mixed models)
• Lead analysis of agronomic and product trials to estimate treatment effects and program impact
• Quality assure trial designs and analyses produced by other analysts
• Translate trial findings into clear recommendations for product design, agronomic guidance, and program strategy.

Develop scalable analytical products and decision-support tools using program, survey, and spatial data (30%):

• Build, maintain, and improve analytical pipelines and production codebases that power operational decision tools (e.g., sowing date or input recommendations), including occasional support at the production level.
• Integrate survey, MEL, and operational data with geospatial layers (soil, climate, vegetation, remote sensing) to generate localised recommendations and program targeting strategies.
• Conduct spatial and remote-sensing analyses for program design, prioritisation, and impact estimation (e.g., soil erosion modelling, site suitability analysis).
• Analyse historical trial and soil data to generate input and soil management recommendations (e.g., lime application, fertiliser rate application).
• Evaluate potential impact of alternative interventions and support pilot design, iteration, and scale decisions.
• Translate analyses into decision-ready outputs (briefs, dashboards, and memos) for non-technical stakeholders.
• Identify new, high-leverage analytical use cases that improve program reach, impact, or cost-effectiveness.

Lead impact data management and project management (~20%)

• Lead curation and standardisation of historical yield, agronomic practice, and trial datasets to enable reuse and external research collaboration.
• Own knowledge management for impact data and trials, including:
  • Central documentation of methodologies, assumptions, sample sizes, and results for all projects
  • Reusable analysis templates and reference implementations
• Manage external data requests in compliance with client data protection and confidentiality protocols.

Provide portfolio-level project management (~20%):

• Maintain project plans, priorities, and timelines
• Track dependencies and risks
• Coordinate with program and R&D stakeholders to identify potential delivery risks

About the Role

As the Senior Associate, Insights, you will support the execution of the program’s learning agenda, working across program teams and partners to generate actional insights that inform program delivery and strategy.

This role sits within the Insights function, focusing on the ‘why’ and ‘so what’ behind program results.  You will lead qualitative and mixed-methods data collection and analyze findings.  You will also synthesize findings into clear insights and contribute to learning outputs that shape adaptive management and thought leadership.

Accountabilities include:

Execution of the Program Learning Agenda

• Support the implementation of the Program’s multi-year learning agenda, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of learning activities

Role Summary

The Community Manager will be responsible for leading ALX’s community activation strategy in Kenya, with a strong focus on ambassador activation, learner and alumni engagement, community-led recruitment, and impact storytelling.

About the role

As the Impact Manager: Reporting, Data and Analytics you will be responsible for designing and implementing the technology solution for the programmatic MEL framework. That is potentially adapting existing solutions like Salesforce and Google sheets, or creating/identifying new technology solutions, to ensure that the MEL framework has a functioning and efficient technology platform, routine reporting on key data points. Accountabilities include: 

MEL framework design and implementation

• Support the implementation of the programmatic MEL framework (including MEL plan, data collection plan, data management plan, quality assurance protocols, results framework) through providing a functioning technology solution to support data collection, management and reporting 
• Work collaboratively with the Impact Manager: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning to co-develop quarterly reporting processes and reports on key metrics and KPIs (including financial KPIs for companies), for sharing with a range of stakeholders (This role to focus on the technology platform e.g. Power BI or Airtable and develop dashboards)

Role Summary

Role Summary

The Entrepreneurship Development Analyst will support the delivery and growth of ALX’s entrepreneurship programming in Kenya with a strong focus on Founder Academy recruitment, founder engagement, event coordination, retention, and programme operations.

This is a highly execution-oriented role for someone who enjoys working directly with founders, coordinating events and experiences, driving engagement, and ensuring strong operational follow-through.

Specific Responsibilities

Founder Academy Recruitment and Pipeline Support

• Support recruitment and outreach efforts for the Founder Academy in Kenya to help achieve enrolment targets.

The ideal candidate is a Kenyan national or someone with the required permits to live and work in Kenya, a recent bachelor’s graduate or awaiting graduation, and is looking to kick-start an impact-driven career in strategy consulting and international development.  

Successful candidates must meet the following minimum requirements: 

• Education: Recent graduates (Class of 2026) with a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, Public Policy, Political Science, Business, Engineering, or related fields.
• Language skills: Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English (C1 or professional proficiency). 
• Experience: None required. However, prior work experience (including other internships or trainee programmes) in consulting, international development, public policy, research, or similar fields is highly desirable.
• Skills   
  • Highly analytical with excellent numerical accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) or Google Workspace (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.). 
  • Ability to synthesize technical information into simple concepts and analyze information critically.
  • Ability to work independently.  
  • High organizational skills and attention to detail.  
  • A team player attitude and enthusiasm for relational work with clients. 
  • Passion for international development.

About the Role

We believe that new technology is critical to building the most effective rural distribution network on the African continent. Today, we reach over 1.6 million farm families and we aspire to serve more than 10 million households in the coming decade. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will lead the development of our technology, focusing on a mobile tech transformation: providing our field staff with the mobile-based tools to reach more farmers; developing scalable, direct communication channels with farmers to improve customer service; and digitizing and decentralizing data collection tools to speed up data flows and improve efficiency.

We are looking for someone with the technical experience to bring this vision to life; the Director of Engineering will transform our technology into a core organizational strength, working through several development teams that cross our tech stack

Responsibilities

• Own the tech stack and overall architecture and strategic direction: You will guide our team to work toward a common vision of our tech stack, ensuring a robust solution across all of our technical needs whether back-office, client-facing, or business intelligence needs.
• Lead efficient delivery of impactful software products: Provide detailed, hands-on guidance for tech projects based on an intimate understanding of our clients and internal users. Maintain a robust and well-documented architecture, balancing elegant design with practical requirements across our functional needs.
• Leverage Talent into an Agile Center of Excellence: Support a talented team to work at their best - support Agile processes that go beyond scrum ceremonies to drive efficiency and excellence in all areas. Use new technologies to support the velocity and quality of deployments.
• Develop Leaders and Build Team: Manage a leadership team of ~5 senior-level direct reports, and increase career growth and performance across the division.
  • Grow the careers of leaders across the tech division through weekly check-ins and workshops, ongoing development feedback, and regular career reviews.
  • Provide technical mentorship to the team.
  • Lead recruitment efforts to ensure we are building our team with top talent.
  • Set clear performance expectations and support the team to build itself as a center of excellence.

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

• 10+ years of industry experience with 5+ years leading and managing technology teams.
• Experience working with mobile technology solutions.
• Passion for providing hands-on execution guidance for large teams.
• Experience managing Agile software engineering teams successfully deploying solutions to support complex processes.
• Experience translating complex customer needs into high-quality tech solutions that deliver impact.
• Experience with our tech (C# .Net Core, CouchBase, React Native, and Kubernetes) and our tooling landscape (GitHub, JIRA, and Azure DevOps).
• Humility. We are looking for a passionate professional who combines a focus on excellent performance with good humor, patience, and a service mindset interested in joining our family of leaders.
• Language: English is required in all locations.
