Job Overview

A Senior Systems Engineer leads projects related to creating system architecture, develops and defines system and product requirements, defines methods for verifying compliance to requirements, creates new solutions for the systems, and helps systems work more effectively. This individual may train or mentor Systems Engineers who have less experience and make decisions on projects and department activities. Their overall purpose is to ensure the product or system runs as efficiently as possible and works consistently to meet the needs of the company.

Essential Functions

• Provide expertise, oversight, and participation in activities involving weapon systems and associated hardware/software development, integration, test, configuration management, and acquisition and resource management for new capabilities to an existing weapon system.
• Develops and documents system and subsystem level specified and derived requirements and allocates requirements through the appropriate work breakdown structure (WBS) as codified in a System Requirements Review (SRR) process
• Lead requirements identification, verification, validation, and testing process
• Lead program technical interchange meetings, program management reviews, executive management reviews, test-related meetings, lab and flight test events, integrated product team meetings, software/hardware design reviews, platform integration meetings, etc.

The Systems Engineer 2 supports the development, integration, and sustainment of complex aerospace and defense systems throughout the program lifecycle. The Systems Engineer 3 will contribute to the development, integration, and testing of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). This upper-level role requires a hands-on approach to support subsystem integration and execute test plans to meet aerospace standards under the guidance of senior engineers.

• Design and implement integration plans for UAS subsystems, ensuring compatibility across mechanical, electrical, and software components.
• Support circuit board design, including schematic capture and PCB layout, using tools such as Altium or Eagle, under senior engineer supervision.
