The Scientist I/II, Organic Chemistry will develop, execute, and optimize modern chemical transformations that support Discovery Chemistry efforts across Lila’s platform, with a focus on the rapid synthesis of small molecules and structurally diverse chemical matter. This role is intended for an experimental organic chemist who combines strong foundations in synthetic chemistry with hands-on experience in high-throughput experimentation (HTE), reaction workup, and analytical characterization.

Working closely with Discovery Chemistry, analytical chemistry, automation, screening, and AI/computational teams, this scientist will help build and apply efficient chemistry workflows that accelerate molecular design–make–test–analyze cycles. The Scientist II will contribute to reaction development, analog generation, and route execution using modern organic chemistry approaches that are compatible with scalable, data-rich, and increasingly automated discovery environments.

Position Summary:
The CRA II is a seasoned, experienced professional in monitoring and site management. Responsibilities will be dependent upon the type and timing of the program to which the CRA II is assigned and typically include activities involving start-up and study implementation, on-site monitoring of clinical research studies as well as on-going site management. Incumbents work independently as a study team member. 

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:

• Oversees all aspects of study site management to ensure patient safety is protected, quality of data generated by managed sites resulting in consistently low query levels and in acceptable Quality Assurance reports.

The Opportunity

The van der Stegen Lab at Biohub NY studies human immune cell development from induced pluripotent stem cells and designs engineering strategies to harness immune cells for therapeutic applications. We are looking for a Computational Biologist to join our team to further expand our evaluation of immune cell lineage commitment, function and how genetic engineering strategies can affect those. 

The Computational Biologist will possess deep expertise in the analysis of single cell transcriptional data, including developmental trajectory analysis, and ideally also have experience with proteomics datasets. They have an interest in hematopoiesis and immune cell biology and can demonstrate the intention to apply state-of-the-art analysis tools through close collaboration with the data science team at Biohub.

What You'll Do

• Implement and create analytical pipelines for transcriptomics, including chemical and/or genetic perturbations, and multi-omic datasets
• Support immunologists in experimental design for transcriptomic and multi-omic analysis

What You'll Bring

Compensation

The New York City, NY base pay range for a new hire in this role is $153,000 - $210,100. New hires are typically hired into the lower portion of the range, enabling employee growth in the range over time. Actual placement in range is based on job-related skills and experience, as evaluated throughout the interview process. 

This position may be eligible to participate in Biohub's discretionary annual performance bonus program. Bonus eligibility and targets are determined in accordance with Biohub's total rewards philosophy and may vary by role.

The Laboratory Manager (Tuesday-Saturday) at Foresight Diagnostics oversees the daily operations of the Laboratory Services function across both clinical and translational research work-streams. Working closely with the Director, Clinical Laboratory Operations and the Laboratory Manager (Monday-Friday), this position is responsible for managing personnel, maintaining and optimizing lab workflows, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of excellence and safety within the laboratory environment. The Laboratory Manager (Tuesday-Saturday) collaborates with cross-functional partners to drive smooth day-to-day operations and high-quality execution of cancer diagnostic testing. A successful candidate will possess a strong blend of technical expertise in NGS workflows, leadership skills, regulatory knowledge, and practical experience in laboratory operations. This is a full-time onsite role in a Tuesday-Saturday work schedule, with occasional flexibility for evening, weekend, or holiday work as operational needs arise. Key Responsibilities

Operational Support and Workflow Coordination

• Maintain proficiency in wet-lab techniques and provide training or bench support as needed, while primarily functioning in an oversight and decision-making capacity.

• Ensure appropriate technical coverage, training, and escalation support across shifts. Accountable for meeting turnaround time (TAT), quality, and productivity targets.

Qualifications

Required

Our group is a bold, agile, diverse collective of computational drug discovery scientists and data scientists deeply focused on the singular goal of bringing new therapeutics into the clinic at an accelerated pace. We are a computational group that spans precision oncology, neuroscience, and I&I (immunology and inflammation), and focuses on advancing novel, targeted therapies for these disease areas. We partner closely with our biologists and medicinal chemists to design and execute impactful and decisional data analysis for multiple programs.
