ABOUT THE JOB

RAIL has two primary customers:

• Mission Autonomy (MA) — Mission Autonomy at Anduril is responsible for coordinating mission-level behaviors by manipulating hardware. For example, “fly to these waypoints,” “enter radio silence mode,” or “arm munitions.”
• Robotics Business Lines — These teams own specific Anduril robots end-to-end, as well as individual pieces of hardware on those robots.

RAIL bridges the gap between Mission Autonomy and diverse sets of hardware by creating common hardware interfaces. To allow Anduril to effortlessly integrate with new hardware. RAIL enables Anduril to scale and deploy ambitious new robot designs on short timelines by leveraging learnings and investments from our existing portfolio of diverse hardware and products.

For example, Anduril procures autopilots from a multitude of different hardware vendors. Each autopilot has a subtly different hardware interface — some use MAVLINK, some use STANAG, others use bespoke vendor-specific serial interfaces. Despite having different interfaces, they all provide standard functionality that flies along a set of waypoints.

As an author of advanced mission behavior, I shouldn’t care whether my autopilot speaks MAVLINK or STANAG — I just want my vehicle to get flying. RAIL abstracts away these subtle hardware differences from Mission Autonomy by providing a shared, common interface as a layer between Mission Autonomy and low-level hardware integrations. RAIL also provides other valuable features such as hardware custody management and access-control semantics, shared-memory IPC approaches and flexible observability plugins, to name a few.

RAIL is uniquely situated within Anduril. As the layer between Mission Autonomy and low-level-hardware at Anduril, you will find yourself developing a broad set of expertise working with nearly every robotics team at Anduril. WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own major feature development and rollout of large features for our products — RAIL works with nearly every robotics team at Anduril — humility, empathy, and strong collaboration skills are key to success on the RAIL team!
• Write and maintain core systems that all robotics platforms at Anduril will use.
• Work closely with our vehicle software teams during product development, understanding their needs, and delivering high leverage software they are able to use bring their product to market.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 4+ years of C++ or Rust experience in a Linux development environment — you will be expected to learn Rust on the job, but prior Rust experience is not required
• BS in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Proven understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and code optimization

As a Robotics Software Engineer on our TRS team, you'll be at the forefront of cutting-edge autonomous systems development. WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Develop and maintain core robotics libraries, including frame transformations, targeting, and guidance systems, that will be utilized across all Anduril robotics platforms
• Lead the development and implementation of major features for our products, such as designing and building Software-in-the-Loop simulators for advanced systems like Altius
• Optimize performance of existing products, primarily focused on our Altius Drone product line
• Collaborate closely with hardware and manufacturing teams throughout the product development lifecycle, providing timely feedback to influence and enhance final hardware designs
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in deployed systems, ensuring optimal performance in the field
• Contribute to the design and implementation of multi-agent coordination systems for UAVs

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or related field
• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency in C++ or Rust, with experience in Linux development environments
• Demonstrated expertise in data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and code optimization
• Proven experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems
• Hands-on experience working with and testing electrical and mechanical systems

The avionics system is the backbone of highly reusable, operable, and reliable space systems. As an Avionics Mechanical Engineer at an early-stage start-up you will be responsible for developing mechanical solutions for component packaging and launch vehicle integration of flight avionics hardware. You will work closely with the avionics development, structures, and production teams to design and implement those solutions, and continuously iterate to improve your designs. As an Information Security Systems Engineer, you will design, implement, document and continuously improve the technical security controls that protect Stoke’s infrastructure, engineering environments, manufacturing systems, and sensitive aerospace data.

This is a hands-on security engineering role with ownership of Stoke’s evolving information security program. Description

Fully reusable launch vehicles are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. As a Senior Structures Design Engineer on this launch vehicle, you will provide technical leadership and help build engineering guidelines for the design of pressurized structures, primary structures, thrust structures, secondary structure and load path definition. We are looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer for Application Engineering. As a Sr Software Engineer on the Applications Engineer team, you’ll be part of a cross-functional team whose mission is to deliver real-world applications and value from the leap forward in computing enabled by quantum technology. 

We don't just build the world's best quantum computers - we apply cutting edge quantum computing tools to real world problems. Until now, our team of Applications Scientists have been building prototypes, working closely with our customers. Our new department, Applications Engineering, will ultimately help transform proven quantum computing use-cases pioneered by our scientists into production applications, making those innovations available to more people and businesses by packaging and deploying these tools as SaaS applications.

But first, we must mature existing proof-of-concept quantum code into production grade applications.
