The Role

SoFi is launching a brand-new commercial banking product — and we need a Staff Software Engineer to be its technical backbone.

Commercial Banking is SoFi's entry into institutional commercial banking. We're building the infrastructure that lets large institutional clients in crypto, fintech, and enterprise finance manage their money at SoFi — real-time payments, multi-account treasury management, and a closed-loop settlement network that operates 24/7/365. The systems you design will handle real institutional money from day one. The network you help architect — SEN (SoFi Exchange Network) — could become the default settlement rail for the industry.

As the Senior Staff Engineer on the Commercial Banking team, you'll be the technical leader the team looks to for the hardest problems — system design, API contracts, payment correctness, performance, and reliability. You'll set the technical bar, make architectural decisions that stick, and write the code that proves them out. This is a hands-on role: you'll be deep in the codebase while also shaping the direction for the engineers around you.

What You'll Do

Architect and Build

• Own the technical architecture for Commercial Banking's core systems — payment orchestration, client onboarding workflows, API Gateway, real-time settlement, and the services that power the client-facing experience.
• Design and implement the SoFi Exchange Network (SEN) — a real-time, 24/7/365 closed-loop payment network enabling instant settlement between SoFi commercial clients.
• Build the client onboarding orchestrator: a stateful workflow engine that provisions entities, bank accounts, entitlements, payment rails, limits, and pricing — with retry, rollback, and idempotency guarantees.
• Design enterprise-grade identity, RBAC, and maker/checker approval systems that support complex organizational structures with scoped account access, per-rail permissions, and configurable payment limits.
• Define API contracts that institutional clients will integrate against — getting the abstractions, error models, and versioning right from day one.
• Architect a sandbox environment that realistically simulates every payment rail, enabling clients to build and test their integrations with confidence.

Set the Technical Standard

• Establish system design patterns, coding standards, and engineering best practices for the Commercial Banking codebase.
• Drive technical decisions on data modeling, service boundaries, consistency guarantees, and failure handling across payment workflows where correctness is non-negotiable.
• Own observability strategy — structured logging, distributed tracing, alerting, and dashboards that give the team confidence in production.
• Lead technical design reviews and code reviews. Raise the quality bar and make it stick through example, not just feedback.
• Identify and address technical debt proactively — knowing when to take shortcuts for speed and when to invest in the right long-term solution.

Lead Through Influence

• Be the go-to technical leader on the team — the person engineers come to when they're stuck on a design problem, a performance issue, or a tricky integration.
• Mentor engineers at all levels. Help senior engineers grow toward staff-level thinking; help mid-level engineers develop stronger system design instincts.
• Partner with engineering management to shape the technical roadmap, estimate complexity, and sequence work for maximum impact.
• Drive cross-team technical alignment with other engineering teams at SoFi — working across identity, entitlements, accounts, payments, and core banking systems to ensure clean integration points.
• Represent the team's technical perspective in discussions with Product, Compliance, Risk, and Operations — translating business requirements into sound engineering decisions.

Make It Production-Ready

• Design systems that handle real money with the reliability and correctness that institutional clients demand — every transaction must be accounted for, every failure mode handled.
• Build for scale from day one — systems that work for early clients but are architected to support hundreds without rework.
• Own the technical side of client go-live: integration health checks, performance validation, monitoring readiness, and production cutover.
• Drive incident response and post-mortems. Build a culture where production issues are learning opportunities, not blame events.

What You'll Need

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with a sustained track record of technical leadership on complex, production-critical systems.
• Deep distributed systems expertise — you can design services end-to-end, reason about consistency and ordering guarantees, and make pragmatic tradeoffs between correctness, availability, and latency.
• Hands-on mastery of JVM-based stacks (Kotlin or Java, Spring Boot) and modern infrastructure (Kubernetes, AWS/GCP, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines).
• Strong API design sensibility — you've designed APIs that external consumers depend on, and you understand the long-term cost of getting contracts wrong.
• Experience with stateful workflow systems — you've built or operated long-running, retryable, idempotent workflows in production.
• Proven ability to lead without authority — you influence technical direction through the quality of your ideas, your code, and your ability to bring people along.
• Excellent communication skills — you can write clear technical design documents, explain complex systems to non-technical stakeholders, and make your reasoning legible to the team.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Nice to Have

• Experience building financial systems — payments, ledger, treasury, banking, or fintech where auditability, correctness, and regulatory compliance are table stakes.
• Experience building real-time payment systems (FedWire, FedNow, RTP, ACH origination) or settlement networks.
• Background in commercial or institutional banking (treasury management, FBO/omnibus accounts, correspondent banking).
• Experience with crypto-adjacent financial infrastructure — custodian banking, exchange settlement, stablecoin operations.
• Familiarity with AML/KYB compliance workflows and transaction monitoring in a regulated banking environment.
• Experience building developer-facing products — API gateways, developer portals, sandbox environments, webhook infrastructure.
• Prior work with workflow orchestration engines (Temporal, Cadence, Step Functions) for long-running stateful processes.

We own a diverse tech stack, including build and developer productivity tooling for mobile engineers; release tooling that enables Terminal releases across SDKs, Android apps and firmware; and test automation infrastructure that helps product engineers ensure the quality and reliability of what they ship. As an engineer on this team, you’ll shape and deliver major pieces of this tooling and infrastructure and help raise the bar for developer experience across Terminal.

• Design, build and maintain tools, libraries and infrastructure that improve the productivity of Terminal engineers across mobile, backend and embedded systems.
• Collaborate closely with mobile engineers to understand their workflows and pain points and translate them into practical short-term and long-term solutions.
• Contribute to and improve our build, CI/CD and test automation systems for Terminal SDKs, Android apps and firmware.
• Work with stakeholders across Terminal to prioritize work, balance competing needs and ensure your solutions integrate cleanly into existing workflows.
• Own projects end-to-end, from problem discovery and design through implementation, rollout and ongoing operation.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions and documentation to maintain a high bar for code quality, reliability and developer experience.

Minimum requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful experience with backend systems and at least one of: Android/mobile or embedded/firmware development.
• Experience designing, implementing and maintaining production systems or developer tooling.
• Understanding of how to build scalable, reliable and observable services, pipelines, or tooling.
• Experience owning projects from design through implementation, rollout and ongoing support.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment involving multiple stakeholders and subject matter experts.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to different audiences.

Preferred qualifications

• Proficiency in one or more of: Kotlin, Java, or Go.
• Experience building tools or platforms to improve developer productivity, with clear empathy for internal developer users.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling and pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and modern build systems.
• Experience designing and maintaining automated testing infrastructure (e.g. integration/end-to-end tests, test orchestration, or reducing test flakiness).
• Experience with Android build and test tooling (e.g. Gradle, emulators, device farms) or firmware build pipelines.
• Experience in payments, point-of-sale, or hardware-integrated systems is a plus.

About the Role

The Cloud Inference team scales and optimizes Claude to serve the massive audiences of developers and enterprise companies across AWS, GCP, Azure, and future cloud service providers (CSPs). We own the end-to-end product of Claude on each cloud platform, from API integration and intelligent request routing to inference execution, capacity management, and day-to-day operations.

Within Cloud Inference, the model & inference launch team owns the validation pipeline for our inference server and load balancer on these platforms. We're responsible for every inference change — model launches, performance improvements, safeguard integrations — landing on cloud platforms with correctness, performance, and reliability intact.

This is high-leverage infrastructure work: validation has to be fast and cheap enough to run on the same accelerators that serve customers, trustworthy enough to replace manual checks, and consistent enough that a change working on Anthropic first-party means it works everywhere. This directly determines how fast frontier models and features ship to every cloud platform, and how quickly performance wins reach production — reclaiming capacity at a time when compute is our scarcest resource.

What You'll Do

• Be on the critical path for frontier model launches, bringing up inference for new model architectures and shipping them to cloud platforms in lockstep with our first-party platform
• Work with the core inference team to bring new inference features (e.g. structured sampling, prompt caching, and more) to cloud platforms, owning the platform-specific integration that gets them to production
• Identify and dive deep on the gaps that make inference behave differently across first-party and CSPs — config drift, observability, deployment patterns, hard cross-platform bugs — and fix them at the source rather than building platform-specific workarounds
• Design, build, and own the CI/CD infrastructure for the inference server and load balancer across cloud platforms, with shadow traffic, performance baselines (throughput and latency), and correctness checks that catch regressions before production
• Drive down merge-to-production cycle time by making validation faster, more parallel, and cost-effective enough to run on the same constrained accelerator pool that serves customers, without trading away reliability 
• Analyze observability data across providers to identify performance bottlenecks, cost anomalies, and regressions, and drive remediation based on real-world production workloads

You May Be a Good Fit If You:

• Have a strong interest in LLM serving; prior inference or ML experience is not required 
• Have significant software engineering experience, with a strong background in high-performance, large-scale distributed systems serving millions of users
• Have a track record of building automation or test infrastructure that measurably improved release velocity or reliability
• Have experience building or operating services on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure), with exposure to Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, or container orchestration
• Thrive in cross-functional collaboration with both internal teams and external partners
• Are a fast learner who can quickly ramp up on new technologies, hardware platforms, and provider ecosystems
• Are highly autonomous and take ownership of problems end-to-end, including work that falls outside your job description

Strong Candidates May Also Have Experience With:

• LLM inference optimization, batching, and caching strategies
• Capacity-constrained scheduling or shared-resource test infrastructure
• Solid understanding of multi-region deployments, request routing, load balancing, global traffic management
• Working with CSP partner teams to scale infrastructure across multiple platforms, navigating differences in networking, security, privacy, and managed service

• Deep familiarity with a data-driven approach when iterating on machine learning models and how changes in datasets can influence model results

We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer with a specialty in Detection and Incident Response to join our Security Engineering team. This role sits at the intersection of security operations and software engineering — you won't just investigate incidents, you'll build the systems that detect, contain, and prevent them. You will design and ship high-precision detections across cloud services and enterprise SaaS, develop automation that shortens response timelines, and mature the telemetry pipelines that make it all possible. Your ability to write production-quality code is just as important as your ability to triage an alert.

You will structure investigations, analyze root causes, and clearly communicate the significance of security incidents, their impact, and recommended remediation steps — but you'll also turn those findings into durable engineering improvements: better detections, tighter schemas, and smarter automation.

You will:

• Engineer, test, and deploy detection logic across cloud and enterprise environments, treating detections as software with version control, peer review, and measurable performance.
• Build and maintain incident response automation, runbooks, and tooling that reduce containment timelines without sacrificing developer velocity.

  • Hands-on experience designing or improving detection pipelines, SIEM content, and alerting workflows in cloud-native environments.

As an Electrical Engineer at Carbon Robotics you’ll be a key part of the team that designs and manages the eyes and ears of our robots.  You will lead the selection, integration, and validation of the sensors and industrial components that allow our Laserweeder and autonomous systems to navigate rugged agricultural environments. You’ll do whatever it takes - which might include going to the farm - to ensure our customers have reliable and safe products.

What you’ll do:

• Identify and evaluate high performance sensors (LiDAR, Radar, IMU, GPS, Cameras), and industrial and automotive components (PLCs, power supplies, automotive ethernet switches) to meet the rigorous demands of 24/7 farming.
• Own the hardware lifecycle of these COTS components. This includes everything from research, vendor qualification, trade studies, mechanical and electrical integration, software integration (with software engineering team), testing, and in field support. 
• Work closely with the test engineers to define and execute component and integrated system qualification test plans to ensure our equipment can perform no matter the conditions.  
• Drive technical relationships with COTS suppliers and CM’s to ensure hardware availability and quality.
• Both lead and support key technical decision making through project planning, and cross-functional problem solving
• Prototype, debug, and iterate electrical designs through hands-on testing and automated verification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Success:

We're seeking a full stack Security Software Engineer to develop novel security tooling for securing our suite of products including and detecting potential cybersecurity issues across embedded Linux systems and Android devices. The ideal candidate can develop across the the full stack - from Linux eBPF programs to cloud backends and everything in between.

We are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead PCB design within the Agentic Computational Engineering (ACE) platform team and to encode the realities of space-electronics PCB design and manufacturing directly into our generative engine. In this role, you will own end-to-end PCB design — schematic capture, stackup definition, high-speed and mixed-signal layout, signal and power integrity, fabrication and assembly readiness — for flight hardware, and translate that hard-won expertise into the constraints, heuristics, and feedback loops that let our AI agents design boards that can actually be built, qualified, and flown.

You will work at the intersection of PCB design, space-grade manufacturing, and AI — pairing your own hands-on board work with software development that captures DfM, DfA, and DfT considerations as code. This role is ideal for someone who has personally laid out flight boards, knows what fabricators and assembly houses actually need to see on a drawing package, and is excited to guide the team and write the software that lets an agent reason about those same trade-offs. You should be passionate about both leading a team and building this product: not just designing one more board, but multiplying your impact by encoding your judgment into a system that designs the next thousand.

You will be joining the Agentic Computational Engineering (ACE) team, a specialized group within our Advanced Technology Development organization. ACE is responsible for building Voyager’s Generative Engine – the AI-native platform that compresses complex hardware development cycles from years to days. We design agentic AI systems that pair deeply with physics simulation, test data, and modern manufacturing so that Design for Manufacturing (DfM), Design for Assembly (DfA), and Design for Test (DfT) are built into the very first line of code and the very first sketch of a design.

The position reports to the VP, AI & Autonomy and is part of the Technology and Advanced Development department based in Los Angeles, CA; Washington D.C; Seattle, WA.

This role is hybrid based in Los Angeles, CA; Washington D.C; Seattle, WA.

• Own the vision and execution of the PCB vertical of the Agentic Computational Engineering platform — defining how an agentic system should reason about end-to-end PCB design and manufacturing for space-grade flight electronics, and guiding the engineering team that implements it.
• Frame the problem space for the team: catalogue the design and manufacturing decisions a senior PCB engineer makes on a flight program (substrate and stackup, SI/PI, DfM/DfA/DfT, parts derating, fab and assembly liaison, qualification) and translate each into structured problems an agent can solve autonomously.
• Plan the PCB vertical's roadmap in lockstep with AI, simulation, manufacturing, and product leadership — sequencing capabilities, identifying high-leverage bets, and articulating clear success criteria for each agentic capability we ship.
• Educate the team continuously on space-electronics PCB design and manufacturing — running design-review walkthroughs, writing internal references, and turning your judgment into shared mental models the rest of the team can build against.
• Drive product taste for the PCB vertical: define what a great agent-generated design package looks like, what quality bar it must hit, and where the agent should defer to a human — so the team builds something that practicing PCB engineers actually trust.
• Lead testing and qualification of agent-generated designs — running design reviews, fabricating and assembling representative boards, and executing electrical, environmental (vibe, thermal, EMI/EMC), and radiation campaigns to evaluate real-world performance.
• Provide detailed, structured feedback to the team building the platform — turning every test, fab spin, and design review into specific, actionable signals that improve the agents, the constraint models, and the simulation tie-ins.
• Partner with fab houses, assembly houses, and component vendors to encode their real constraints — IPC class 3, NASA workmanship, lead times, parts availability, qualification artifacts — into the platform so generated designs are buildable on the first spin.
• Set the technical direction for AI-driven tooling in the PCB vertical (Python/C++ services, LLM-based agents, scripting), guiding engineers on how to decompose PCB-engineering judgment into agents that can make decisions autonomously and explain them.
• Represent the PCB vertical to Voyager hardware programs and external customers — communicating capabilities, limitations, and the roadmap with the credibility that comes from having designed flight hardware yourself.

ABOUT THE JOB

RAIL has two primary customers:

• Mission Autonomy (MA) — Mission Autonomy at Anduril is responsible for coordinating mission-level behaviors by manipulating hardware. For example, “fly to these waypoints,” “enter radio silence mode,” or “arm munitions.”
• Robotics Business Lines — These teams own specific Anduril robots end-to-end, as well as individual pieces of hardware on those robots.

RAIL bridges the gap between Mission Autonomy and diverse sets of hardware by creating common hardware interfaces. To allow Anduril to effortlessly integrate with new hardware. RAIL enables Anduril to scale and deploy ambitious new robot designs on short timelines by leveraging learnings and investments from our existing portfolio of diverse hardware and products.

For example, Anduril procures autopilots from a multitude of different hardware vendors. Each autopilot has a subtly different hardware interface — some use MAVLINK, some use STANAG, others use bespoke vendor-specific serial interfaces. Despite having different interfaces, they all provide standard functionality that flies along a set of waypoints.

As an author of advanced mission behavior, I shouldn’t care whether my autopilot speaks MAVLINK or STANAG — I just want my vehicle to get flying. Anduril's TRS Simulation team owns the ecosystem, frameworks, and guidance that make simulation possible, repeatable, and scalable across the Tactical Recon & Strike business line. We don't just run sims, we define what it means for a simulation to be trustworthy. Our team operates across four pillars: Sim Infrastructure, Sim Fidelity, Sim Integrations, and Training Simulations, supporting products like Altius, Ghost, Bolt, and Anvil from early development through field deployment. Every fidelity improvement, every validated model, and every simulation environment we deliver directly determines whether autonomous systems are ready to fly real missions.

Our vision is one simulation framework that serves every product and every deployment target, from a developer's laptop through CI pipelines, operator training environments, and large-scale HPC Monte Carlo campaigns. The same declarative workspace definition can be composed, extended, and deployed wherever simulation is needed, so teams spend their time on mission problems instead of reinventing infrastructure.

THE ROLE

This role is for someone who loves going deep on a problem. You'll identify where simulated components diverge from real-world behavior at the system level, work with our functional teams who own those subsystems to understand what a better model looks like, then own the integration, optimization, and validation within our simulation framework. The cycle is: analyze the gap, understand the domain, engineer the solution into the framework, and prove the fidelity improvement with data. The problems are genuinely complex, multi-physics, multi-rate, spanning both real-time and faster-than-real-time execution for large-scale Monte Carlo campaigns, and the feedback loop is measured in months, not years: your improvements are validated against real flight data and deployed to operational systems on a cadence that keeps pace with product development.

You are expected to quickly develop working knowledge of the domains you touch (sensors, comms, navigation, environment, autonomy interfaces) and become an effective partner to our teams that own those subsystems. THE ROLE

The Tactical Recon and Strike (TRS) team at Anduril develops aerial small drones (Group 1-3) and all equipment to test, deploy and operate. TECHNICAL IMPLEMENTATION & DESIGN COLLABORATION

• Design and develop full-stack web applications for the SIE platform, including dashboards, management consoles, and configuration interfaces

ABOUT THE TEAM 

The Software Integration Environment (SIE) team is responsible for managing fleets of Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, test environments and external cloud deployments.  We operate the critical infrastructure that enables Anduril to rapidly develop, test, and deploy software capabilities to the warfighter.  As we scale our operations across AWS, Azure, and on-premise environments, we are building a next-generation platform experience that empowers both our internal engineering teams and external customers to deploy and manage complex cloud infrastructure with confidence and speed.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Full-stack UI Developer to join our team and lead the design and development of a new platform experience for the SIE ecosystem.  In this role, you will be the architect of the user-facing layer of our infrastructure platform, building intuitive, powerful interfaces that make complex cloud operations accessible to both internal developers and external customers.  You will design and implement web applications that provide visibility into Kubernetes deployments, orchestrate CI/CD pipelines, manage test environments, and enable self-service infrastructure provisioning. Anduril’s Tactical Reconnaissance and Strike Division (TRS) is responsible for design and development of Anduril’s fleet of small warfighting and surveillance drones deployed around the world, including Ghost, Anvil, Altius, and Bolt. The guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) team within TRS performs implementation, analysis, test, and validation, modeling & simulation, for GNC software solutions supporting our autonomous drone fleet. Applications include attitude and position control, waypoint and terminal guidance engagements, and navigating contested environments including communication and GPS denied environments. This role will be responsible for building and maintaining the high fidelity 6 Degree of Freedom simulation software utilized with TRS GNC for GNC algorithm development, test, and validation.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Modeling & Simulation engineer to join our team. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to develop, implement and maintain a sufficient fidelity simulations and digital twins of the myriad of different vehicles that Anduril works on. The ideal candidate has experience working on aerospace systems and understands the right fidelity of sub-system and system level modeling required to integrate with the broader flight control and mission autonomy software. • What You’ll Do

• Develop simulation solutions for 6DOF and Guidance, Navigation and Control algorithm development

ABOUT THE TEAM

Air Dominance & Strike (AD&S) is responsible for autonomous robotics systems like the Fury unmanned fighter jet and the Barracuda family of advanced effects. The AD&S Vehicle Software team is responsible for the software running on these systems. Our software engineers collaborate with other engineering disciplines to develop software for vehicle control, networking, sensor integration, and telemetry. ABOUT THE JOB

At Anduril we are developing unmanned aerial systems capable of terminal guidance, long range intelligence collection, precision navigation, and unsupervised autonomy. Anvil, Altius, Ghost, and other developmental UAS platforms are built to operate in remote environments with limited user input, driving requirements for reliability and autonomy. We have developed an autonomy stack that receives user intent, responds to detections processed at the edge, and coordinates flight patterns for groups of assets. We are looking for systems engineers with experience in this field to help design and manage the next generation of Anduril’s flight vehicles. We are seeking a Generative AI Chief Engineer Lead to drive innovations in autonomous vehicle technology using deep learning and reinforcement learning. In this dynamic role, you will design state-of-the-art algorithms and systems that enable safe, efficient, and intelligent autonomous capabilities. Today, employing mass quantities of autonomous robots requires heavy human oversight and execution. Anduril is leveraging AI approaches to improve effectiveness of autonomous missions, offload operator burden, and speed up execution via realtime monitoring, recommendations to users, and multi-modal interaction patterns. You will apply proven and un-proven approaches to create prototypes for expanding the capability of autonomous systems.

What You’ll Do

• Develop Advanced Agentic Software - Design and implement novel agent-based software systems to improve sensor perception, prediction, and decision-making for autonomous vehicles

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Air Dominance & Strike team at Anduril develops aerial and multi-domain robotic systems. The team is responsible for taking products like Fury (unmanned fighter jet) and Barracuda (air-breathing cruise missile) from concept to product. The team also develops Lattice for Mission Autonomy, Anduril’s premier software platform that enables masses of Fury, Barracuda, and other first and third party robots to collaborate across various missions. We work in close coordination with specialist teams like Perception, Motion Planning, Hardware, and Test Engineering to solve some of the hardest problems facing our customers. JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Field Service Engineer – RUPS Systems will specialize in rotary UPS power system distribution builds, mechanical and generator integration, system integration, start-ups, and preventative maintenance programs. This role requires advanced technical expertise, mechanical aptitude, leadership skills, and hands-on field experience with both electrical control systems and rotating equipment such as generators and flywheels. Strong troubleshooting skills and a commitment to delivering high-performance power solutions in data centers, hospitals, industrial facilities, and utility-scale environments are essential.

This is not a typical UPS engineer or technician role. In fact, a strong background in traditional static UPS systems may not be advantageous for this position. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience with mechanical systems, generators, and rotary equipment, and be comfortable commissioning complex power systems in the field. You will act as the front-line expert for bringing large-scale RUPS systems online, resolving technical issues, and training others. This role will also provide technical software and hardware troubleshooting support to the IEM customer base on-site throughout North America while performing start-ups, retrofits, or preventative maintenance. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional IEM teams to integrate current and new technologies, commission complex generator and RUPS systems, optimize existing power infrastructure, and ensure seamless operation across our power products as defined by the customer's RUPS design and sequence of operations (SOO). This role will serve as the point of contact for all field service personnel related to RUPS startup, generator support, preventative maintenance, 24-hour emergency response, and remote technical assistance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and perform on-site startup, commissioning, and preventative maintenance of RUPS systems, including generator integration, flywheel validation, and facility electrical infrastructure.
• Perform functional testing, load bank testing, system synchronization, and complete system validation to ensure all components meet performance specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues related to generators, flywheels, switchgear, control systems, fuel systems, and coupling assemblies.

• Follows a scientific step-by-step process to troubleshoot equipment issues. Captures data and troubleshooting steps concisely and accurately to facilitate effective communication to internal and external parties.
• Works directly with 3^rd party equipment vendors and customers to help resolve re-occurring issues with vendor equipment within IEM’s integrated RUPS systems.
• Perform functional tests, load tests, synchronization, and RUPS system validation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues related to generators, flywheels, switchgear and related control systems.
• Interface with clients, contractors and internal IEM teams during commissioning and acceptance testing.
• Ensure all startup and commissioning documentation, test reports, onsite daily reports and required customer records are completed, submitted accurately and on time.
• Provide technical support and guidance during new installations and system upgrades.
• Train Field Service junior technicians on proper startup, commissioning procedures, troubleshooting protocols, preventative maintenance and how to operate the equipment safely. 
• Maintain compliance with all industry and company safety standards, company procedures and client specific safety protocols. 
• Communicate with Product Engineering and Design Teams with regards to important product bulletins that would affect service, software upgrades, product upgrades or maintenance factors.
• Travel to customer sites to lead commissioning activities with junior techs/engineers or complete commissioning independently.
• As required, travel to the manufacturing or field service offices of IEM to participate in or lead training exercises, and to participate in factory witness/shop testing.
• Assists with project start-up and resolving punch list items found at the jobsite.  Work with the customer site superintendents or project managers to update punch lists and ensure jobs are closed out correctly.
• Provide detailed field trip reports that list the issues found onsite to the IEM manufacturing facilities regarding whether quality control standards are upheld to project design criteria and product specifications.   Works with production, service and engineering teams to help resolve any deficiencies that are found.
• Work with the Field Service Leads in scheduling additional field resources and/or teams to cover service needs.
• Proven ability to manage complex power distribution projects, obtains great technical aptitude and has good communication skills. 
• Performs other duties as required by supervisor.

Power System Integration:

• Lead and support field integration of new RUPS and generator technologies with existing infrastructure, ensuring system compatibility and optimal performance.

System Optimization:

•  Analyze system performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability and scalability of existing power systems on customer sites.  

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Proficiency in Power/automation programming languages and ladder logic (IEC, Python, Java, SQL, HTML)
• Strong hands-on experience with rotating equipment, diesel generator systems, and mechanical diagnostics.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting, including relay testing, load bank setup, and flywheel system commissioning.
• Experience with load bank testing, grounding systems and protective relay testing.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams.
• Proficiency with diagnostic and testing tools - (oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, etc.)
• Experience and proficient with industrial power system controls and monitoring technologies.

• Minimum 4 years of field experience working with RUPS-UPS power systems, rotary systems, or generator-based power systems.
• Prior experience in commissioning engineering, power systems integration, or generator field service strongly preferred.
• 4 years’ experience as an electrical engineer
• Professional Engineer (PE) License a Plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
