About The Team

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Systems Engineer / PLM Analyst to support the administration and continuous improvement of our Quality Management System (QMS) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes.
This role will support the management of product data, engineering change control, and document control within Arena PLM, while also contributing to key QMS activities such as CAPA management, internal audits, and controlled documentation. Role Overview
As a Principal Package Thermal & Mechanical Engineer at Astera Labs, you will serve as a technical leader driving the development and modeling of advanced IC packaging solutions that enable next-generation AI and high-performance connectivity systems.
In this highly visible role, you will define and execute thermal and mechanical modeling strategies across the chip–package–board system, influencing package architecture, material selection, and reliability design. You will partner closely with package design, SIPI, silicon, system, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust thermal/mechanical performance and first-pass success.

Primary Responsibilities
OT Network and SCADA Systems
Design, implement, and support secure available OT network architectures that underpin SCADA and industrial control systems
Install, configure, and troubleshoot SCADA components, including HMIs, data historians, and RTUs
Ensure communication across industrial protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, OPC, and industrial Ethernet technologies such as Ethernet/IP and PROFINET
Partner with engineering, operations, and vendors to integrate and improve SCADA systems within the broader network infrastructure
Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls tailored to OT environments, including segmentation, monitoring, and access management

We are looking for a Staff Mechanical Engineer - Power Systems to work on new power electronics product development. You will design new solutions for generating green hydrogen and implement design releases from prototype to production.
You will be based onsite in San Jose, CA, and you will report to our Director of Power Platform.
Primary Responsibilities
Work on the design and analysis of the mechanical aspects of a high-power electronic product for hydrogen electrolysis. This includes:
Lead the power system's high-level design and architecture together with power systems electrical engineers.
Detailed mechanical design of power bussing MV transformers to DC bus interfaces for prototype and product
Collaborate with Power Electronics designers and systems engineers on optimization and modeling of the power system plant costs.
Build electromechanical interface drawings, system diagrams, design reviews, and other internal and external documentation related to this scope of work
Qualifications
Proficient in 3D modeling and CAD drawings, Mechanical design, Tolerance analysis, and FMEA
Knowledge of sheet metal, extrusion, welding, casting and injection molding fabrication methods
Proficient in thermal designs, including forced air and liquid cooling
Familiar with outdoor-rated electronics packaging, corrosion, IP ratings
Knowledge of 1000 Vac unit design, including applicable NEC, UL, and IEC standards
Kiloamp-level AC and DC bussing systems; bus bars and bus ways
