What you will do

• Ensure the productivity and resilience of our infrastructure, including monitoring and observability of our services
• Work on standardizing processes and building automation for data pipeline onboarding, deployment, scheduling, failure recovery, and other aspects of operating our platform
• Work closely with the SRE team to ensure developer productivity and CI/CD adoption within the Data Platform team

The Challenge  

We’re looking for a (Senior) Principal Solutions Engineer to join our Solution Engineering team. 
In this role, you will lead the development and execution of OneTrust’s AI Governance and Data Use Governance solutions within the Solutions Engineering function. As a Senior Security Engineer specialising in Cloud Infrastructure, you will own and evolve the security posture of our cloud environments across AWS and GCP, with a focus on network security, perimeter defence, and attack surface management.

You will design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure that proactively detects and mitigates threats before they impact our business. You will work closely with platform, infrastructure, and security operations teams, embedding security best practices into our cloud foundations.

Key Responsibilities

• Own cloud security posture and attack surface management: Maintain comprehensive visibility and control across AWS and GCP environments. Implement cloud-native security monitoring, detection, and alerting to proactively identify and mitigate threats before they impact customers or the business. Define and enforce security baselines using policy-as-code.
• Design and maintain web application firewall infrastructure: Own WAF configurations across AWS and GCP, developing and tuning detection rules aligned with application threat models and emerging attack patterns. Establish operational processes for rule lifecycle management and incident response integration, collaborating with application teams to implement protections without impacting availability.
• Architect network segmentation and isolation: Design and implement network security strategies ensuring proper separation between development, staging, and production environments. Define consistent patterns across multi-cloud infrastructure, applying zero-trust principles to workload communication and documenting reference architectures for engineering teams.
• Deliver modern secure remote access: Architect and implement a scalable remote access solution to meet current network security and environment isolation requirements. • Drive security automation and DevSecOps adoption: Implement Infrastructure as Code for security controls using Terraform and cloud-native tools. • Improve team capabilities and cross-functional collaboration: Partner with platform and infrastructure teams to embed security into cloud foundations. As a Staff Solutions Architect at Upbound, you own the technical success of our customers. You are the primary driver of customer outcomes, from initial implementation through production adoption, ensuring customers achieve real business value with Crossplane and the Upbound platform. This is a deeply technical, hands-on role embedded in the post-sales motion, working closely with customers to deliver working solutions, not just guidance.

Customer Technical Outcomes

• Drive end-to-end technical success for a portfolio of enterprise customers, from post-sales handoff through production adoption.
• Own the implementation of known Upbound use cases — control plane architectures, Upbound/Crossplane configurations, GitOps integration, platform engineering patterns — and ensure customers reach their target state.
• Define and track technical milestones that map to customer business objectives and contract value.

Implementation & Architecture

You are a good fit if you have:

• Deep familiarity with cloud-native tooling: CNCF ecosystem, IaC (Terraform/Pulumi), GitOps (Flux/ArgoCD), CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience across at least two major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) at production scale.
• Strong programming skills; Go is strongly preferred.
