Summary:

The Associate Electrical Test Engineer is responsible for the development and execution of tests to ensure the quality of our products. The Group Lead provides both technical direction and organizational leadership for the embedded systems software engineering team developing advanced autonomy, control, and mission systems for AEVEX’s UAS platforms. This individual serves as an in-house expert, both for managers from other departments who need software solutions and the less experienced staff within the department. The Embedded Systems Group Lead serves as the primary leader and advocate for the software engineering team representing their needs, removing roadblocks, and acting as their voice to program management, customers, and company leadership. This role bridges technical execution and strategic alignment ensuring that software deliverables meet mission, schedule, and quality objectives while fostering a high-performance engineering culture. The Group Lead looks at different possible solutions and how feasible those options are. About the Position

Dexis is seeking up to two Senior Programmers to provide the J8-S with high quality, defendable programming and technical support. The Senior Programmer works as an interface between the programmers and the subject matter experts to ensure that models developed fully and accurately translate and represent the special operations capabilities. They will be responsible for day to day management of programming efforts and ensure new hardware requirements, IT maintenance requirements, and software upgrades are articulated to the Task Lead. The mission of the USSOCOM J8-S is to provide senior leadership independent analysis and studies involving current and future Special Operations Force (SOF) requirements, inform J8 decisions in development of the USSOCOM Program Objective Memorandum (POM), and inform and collaborate with Office of the Secretary of War (OSW) in developing various analytic products and guidance. • Evaluate and make recommendations on the impact of new or emerging technologies on SOF capability assessments, analyses, and processes using JMA data, data from other approved databases, historical data, models, and analytic tools whenever possible to ensure the integrity of methodologies and the continuity of relevant analytic processes throughout the command.
• Provide insights and recommendations regarding potential new technology needs that have been derived from the JMA SOFAMS or as a result of JMA related analyses. This support shall include the critical evaluation of existing methodologies, processes, models and analytic tools as well as new commercial and Government-owned software and models. All contractor proposed changes to any part of the Network Suite System must be approved by J8-S.
• Use the latest database design and support methodologies to enhance retrieval of stored data and to ensure the fastest retrieval speeds and higher operating efficiencies.
• Re-evaluate the database structure during the production phase of the JMA cycle and make recommendation to determine where improvements could be made.
• Evaluate, integrate, install, test and maintain new software components to increase the reliability and efficiency of the JMA databases.
• Ensure analysts can enter data, define data queries, and use analytic tools to examine and analyze the results. Create on-line tutorials and help files, commercially available programmed instruction, self-paced manuals and drill tasks, and manuals requiring instructor interface.
• Document processes and training developed to ensure that a historical record is maintained. SCRAAM and SOFAMS training files will include, but is not limited to: CONOP modeling; data collection tools; the use of analytic tools in support of force, platform, and equipment analyses.

A lead Senior Programmer will be identified and have the following additional duties:

• Work as an interface between the programmers and the subject matter experts to ensure that models developed fully and accurately translate and represent the special operations capabilities
• Be responsible for day to day management of programming efforts and ensure new hardware requirements IT maintenance requirements, and software upgrades are articulated to the Task Lead.
• Assist the task lead in developing work plans for programmers, database administrator, and network manager.
• Keep the Task Lead appraised of information technology resources necessary to complete tasks in accordance with scheduled milestones and budgetary constraints.
• Perform quality checks of all programming products and interact continually Task Lead to discuss concerns, and ensure total product/service satisfaction.

Qualifications 

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related Information Technology discipline
• 10+ years of development experience in a role as Programmer/Analyst, Senior Programmer or Application Developer. Experiences shall include:
  • Systems Analysis and Design, Systems Architecture or Data Modeling
  • RDBMS and/or NoSQL/Non-relational database development, to include the writing of advanced queries and stored procedures
  • Development of various COTS/GOTS software applications and solutions using various development languages or frameworks such as: .Net/JAVA/JavaScript/Python/R
• 2 years of experience (can be concurrent with the 10 years above) performing the role of Lead Developer and/or Data Architect.
• Baseline and Privileged Use Certified Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I; IAT Level II must be obtained within 6 months of start date

Compensation Range: $210,000 - $240,000

You may start your day by reviewing a design or plan sets for an artificial reef project headed for agency review. Tacos for lunch. Later, you’re reviewing erosion and sediment control details submitted by a junior engineer for a coastal shoreline project in Miami—offering feedback and making sure it aligns with regulatory standards.

Depending on the project phase, you might lead a shoreline conditions assessment, design a nature based coastal enhancement, evaluate value engineering for a permitted project, develop permit plans or verify construction matches the plans as the Engineer of Record. Throughout the day, you will lead conversations with marine scientists, engineers, clients, and regulators that are part of the RES Team —turning complex challenges into clear solutions and ensuring projects stay on track and consistent with permits.
