As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be a player-coach leading a high-caliber engineering team building advanced platforms. Depending on your area of ownership, you may lead one or more teams across domains including Control Plane (edge/cloud compute), Dev/Sec Ops, Data Platform & Governance, High Scale Event Processing (hundreds of billions of events per day), Mobile Platforms, SRE & Operations, or Radar Platform (our core web/cloud customer experience). You will be technically hands-on in delivery while setting strategic direction, growing engineers, and collaborating cross-functionally with stakeholders and partner teams.
The best engineering managers here are strong engineers first. You'll be expected to contribute meaningfully to design, review code, and engage deeply with technical problems, not just manage the process around them. We move fast, and you've done it before. You know how to maintain a high quality bar without sacrificing velocity, and you bring the judgment to know when to push and when to slow down just enough to get it right.
At RADAR, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. The expected base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.You will also be eligible to receive other benefits including: equity, comprehensive medical and dental coverage, life and disability benefits, 401k plan, flexible time off, and paid parental leave. The pay range listed for this position is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.

About the role: The San Diego Community Power (SDCP) is seeking a seasoned Data Engineer to join our growing team of analytics experts who will be responsible for designing, maintaining, expanding, and optimizing our data infrastructure for data collection, management, transformation, and access. A key priority of this role will be to assist in SDCP’s development of centralizing its data eco-system to allow for creation of pipelines that convert raw data into usable formats for data analysts and other data consumers to utilize. The Data Engineer will handle the core data aspects of software engineering and data science and utilize software engineering principles to develop algorithms that automate the data flow process. They will collaborate with data and system analysts to build machine learning and analytics infrastructure from testing to deployment.

COMPENSATION:
Salary Range: The position salary range is: $84,900 - $110,400; with exact compensation to be determined by SDCP, depending upon experience.

Insurance: SDCP offers group health benefits, including medical, vision, and dental insurance, for eligible FT employees. Also provided is a $100,000 Life & AD&D policy, STD and LTD coverage that is 100% paid by SDCP.
Retirement: SDCP offers a 457(b) plan for employee contributions and contributes 10% of eligible compensation to the employee’s Money Purchase Plan.
Paid Time Off: 11 holidays per year + paid winter holiday (between 12/24-12/31), 160 hours of accrued paid time off per year (increases with time in service), and 96 hours per year of accrued paid sick leave.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in San Diego, California is $133,500 to $155,000. Position Overview:
The Software Development Engineer in Test II (SDET II) is a software engineer who focuses on building and improving the automated systems used to validate modern software applications and services. Working closely with product developers, the SDET II develops test automation, validation tooling, and quality insights that help ensure reliable releases across web applications, cloud services, mobile platforms, and supporting data systems. Unlike traditional QA roles, the SDET II contributes code, automation, and tooling alongside development teams, helping ensure that systems are testable, observable, and scalable throughout the software development lifecycle. This role is expected to contribute directly to engineering work while collaborating with product, development, and quality teams to deliver high-quality software.
