We are looking for a DevOps Engineer II to join our team. We have an “always learning” culture driven to improve both as individuals and as a team. We are a Scrum-based Agile team that strives to deliver business value quickly. Our ideal candidate must maintain a high level of ownership and see assignments through to completion.

We containerize and deploy a microservice architecture – with a technology stack that includes languages like Python, PHP, and Vue.js. – using Kubernetes (EKS) on AWS. We use MySQL, Redshift, and Redis for databases and caching. We use GitHub Actions and ArgoCD for our CI/CD pipeline. We use Cloudflare for our CDN/WAF. Do you love IaC? Because we do and use Terraform/OpenTofu to create infrastructure.

You will be responsible for engineering support, service delivery, reliability, scalability, monitoring, and creating some of our infrastructure-as-code, just to name a few key responsibilities.

Who you are

• Minimum of 2 years in a Technology role with at least 1 year experience working in a DevOps position.
• Strong experience with Linux, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions, and Cloud systems.
• Strong programming skills in one or more scripting languages.
• Experience with AWS. And GCP experience is a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD implementation tools and understanding of CI/CD best practices.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and understanding of IaC best practices.

Key Responsibilities
•    Design, implement, and optimize continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines across multiple applications and environments

Required Qualifications
•    4+ years of experience working with Git-based source control systems, preferably GitHub
•    3+ years of experience writing Python, Shell, or similar scripting languages
•    2+ years of experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or comparable technologies
•    3+ years of experience working with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD platforms
•    2+ years of experience with DevOps pipeline tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bamboo, CircleCI, Spinnaker, or similar platforms
•    Strong experience with build automation, code promotion techniques, branching strategies, and release orchestration
•    Experience building, deploying, and supporting Docker containers and Docker-based microservices
•    Strong understanding of CI/CD design patterns, pipeline governance, and deployment best practices
•    Experience working with Windows Server environments, including IIS and .NET deployment patterns

• Execute the implementation of designed solutions into client deliverables.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in system administration (Windows and/or Linux), DevOps and/or software development and IT Operations.
• 5+ years project experience migrating and deploying cloud-based solutions.
• Must demonstrate hands-on experience with Terraform or Bicep, ARM Templates and Ansible (or equivalent)
• Hands-on implementation experience of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery in Azure DevOps (VSTS/TFS), Jenkins, and/or Bamboo (or another similar tool)
• 3+ years implementing and supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure and topologies (or demonstrated experience with AWS or GCP)
• Automation experience - very good scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Groovy, etc.). Experience can be from any public cloud.
• Experience with various cloud deployment methodologies.
• Understanding of cloud ecosystem and leading-edge cloud emerging technologies.
• Performance analysis, troubleshooting and remediation techniques.
• Strong analytical problem-solving ability.
• Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a virtual project team.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field

Preferred Experience/Skills/Certifications:

• Experience in Chef/Puppet, Docker and/or Kubernetes is a plus
• Microsoft Certification a plus

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or a related technical discipline.
• 3-5 years’ experience in developing REST microservices.
• 3-5 years of B2B SaaS enterprise applications with a large user base.  
• 3-5 years of mobile and/or desktop application development.
• 3-5 years of Automation testing generating Unit, BDD (Behaviour-driven development) and/or TDD (Test-driven development). Preferred.
• AWS Certified Developer
  
  Frontend Specific Work Experience
• 3-5 years Reactjs, Typescript, Redux, AWS.  
• 3-5 years NextJS framework.
• 3-5 years of micro-frontend architecture.

• Appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.
• High degree of proficiency in Design Principles and Microservices.
• Production AWS hands-on experience.
• Production experience with software engineering architecture, component design, coding, unit testing, behaviour-driven development (BDD), test-driven development (TDD), documenting, and deploying.
• Production experience working with CI/CD environments is required.
• Experience working with pub/sub/messaging systems (Kafka, ActiveMQ…)
• Experience in DevOps activities (AWS, k8s, Terraform, Docker…)
• Experience in automated software testing through unit/functional/ integration test suites.
• Experience with monitoring & logging technologies (Splunk, New Relic…)
• Push technologies (Websockets)
• Professional level communication skills w/ the ability to convey ideas to a broad audience of different specializations.
• Production experience building and shipping customer-facing applications with thousands of users.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies.
• Strong sense of ownership and focus on long-term usability and extensibility.
• Strong experience solving complex problems.

• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and CSS frameworks (such as Bootstrap, and Tailwind..).
• Production experience with Angular/React/Vue and other similar Frontend frameworks.
