Helsing is a defence AI company. Our mission is to protect our democracies. We aim to achieve technological leadership, so that open societies can continue to make sovereign decisions and control their ethical standards.
As democracies, we believe we have a special responsibility to be thoughtful about the development and deployment of powerful technologies like AI. We take this responsibility seriously.
We are an ambitious and committed team of engineers, AI specialists and customer-facing programme managers. We are looking for mission-driven people to join our European teams – and apply their skills to solve the most complex and impactful problems. We embrace an open and transparent culture that welcomes healthy debates on the use of technology in defence, its benefits, and its ethical implications.
As Supply Planner at Helsing, you will take responsibility for planning and managing material flows across production and project workstreams, working within established processes while building the experience and judgement to handle increasingly complex supply environments. Your work connects suppliers, procurement, logistics, and production teams, and the quality of your coordination across those boundaries will directly influence whether Helsing can meet its programme commitments on time. You will maintain visibility over inventory levels, monitor delivery schedules, and act promptly when supply chains come under pressure. At this level, you will take genuine ownership of defined planning workstreams, supported by senior colleagues while growing your ability to manage escalations, prioritise competing demands, and improve the processes that keep material flowing.
Note: We operate in an industry where women, as well as other minority groups, are systematically under-represented. We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet all the listed qualifications; ability and impact cannot be summarised in a few bullet points.
Helsing’s work is important. You’ll be directly contributing to the protection of democratic countries while balancing both ethical and geopolitical concerns
The work is unique. We operate in a domain that has highly unusual technical requirements and constraints, and where robustness, safety, and ethical considerations are vital. You will face unique Engineering and AI challenges that make a meaningful impact in the world
Our work frequently takes us right up to the state of the art in technical innovation, be it reinforcement learning, distributed systems, generative AI, or deployment infrastructure. The defence industry is entering the most exciting phase of the technological development curve. Advances in our field of world are not incremental: Helsing is part of, and often leading, historic leaps forward
In our domain, success is a matter of order-of-magnitude improvements and novel capabilities. This means we take bets, aim high, and focus on big opportunities. Despite being a relatively young company, Helsing has already been selected for multiple significant government contracts
We actively encourage healthy, proactive, and diverse debate internally about what we do and how we choose to do it. Teams and individual engineers are trusted (and encouraged) to practise responsible autonomy and critical thinking, and to focus on outcomes, not conformity. At Helsing you will have a say in how we (and you!) work, the opportunity to engage on what does and doesn’t work, and to take ownership of aspects of our culture that you care deeply about

Identify, assess, and prioritise security risks across our systems, products, and infrastructure - distinguishing between theoretical concerns and material threats to the business
Design and implement practical security controls across cloud platforms, applications, products, and data - and guide engineering teams in doing the same
Develop and apply threat models to surface architectural risks, trust boundary issues, and failure modes before they become incidents
Partner with engineering, product, and operational teams as a trusted security adviser - providing patterns, guidance, and guardrails rather than one-off approvals or blockers
Contribute to the detection, investigation, and containment of security incidents, and drive systemic improvements from what we learn
Reduce manual and reactive security work by building automation, improving tooling, and embedding secure-by-default practices into how we develop and operate systems
Bring technical depth to assurance activities such as audits, certifications, and customer security reviews - ensuring our controls are real and effective, not just documented
Have deep hands-on expertise in one or two security domains - such as application security, cloud security, identity and access management, cryptography, detection and response, or platform security - and can demonstrate genuine impact within them
Think in terms of trust boundaries, failure modes, blast radius, and adversarial behaviour rather than individual vulnerabilities in isolation
Can translate complex security risk into language that resonates with non-security stakeholders - engineers, product managers, and senior leadership alike - and influence outcomes without relying on authority
Approach security with a risk-based mindset, making proportionate, well-reasoned decisions under uncertainty and consistently asking whether the work you are doing reduces material risk rather than simply satisfying a compliance requirement
Have experience working across multiple teams and technical domains simultaneously, maintaining quality and judgement across contexts
Have a track record of identifying gaps and driving security improvements to resolution, including in ambiguous or loosely scoped problem spaces
Note: We operate in an industry where women, as well as other minority groups, are systematically under-represented. We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet all the listed qualifications; ability and impact cannot be summarised in a few bullet points.
Experience working in or alongside regulated, high-assurance, or defence-adjacent environments where security requirements are complex and the consequences of failure are significant
Hands-on offensive security experience - red teaming, penetration testing, or adversarial simulation - that informs how you approach defensive design and threat modelling
Familiarity with security considerations specific to AI or machine learning systems, including model integrity, data pipeline security, or adversarial ML concepts
Experience designing or contributing to security programmes at scale - security champions networks, secure development lifecycle tooling, or organisation-wide risk frameworks
Background in cloud-native security engineering, particularly across AWS, GCP, or Azure, including infrastructure-as-code, container security, and cloud identity patterns
Exposure to supply chain security concerns, including dependency management, build pipeline integrity, or third-party component assurance
Experience operating in environments with classified data, government security frameworks, or cross-domain security requirements

As an Intern in Commercial Finance, you will sit at the intersection of Finance, Procurement, and Engineering – a position that carries real analytical weight. You will work directly with cost data that shapes sourcing strategy and profitability decisions, building and refining the cost models that underpin some of Helsing's most consequential commercial choices.
This is not a passive support role. You will contribute to the development of Helsing's product cost reporting capability, conduct bottom-up "Should Cost" analyses, and help identify where cost efficiency can be unlocked across the supply chain and production processes. Your work will provide the fact-based foundation that the purchasing team relies on in supplier negotiations, and your opportunity and risk tracking will feed directly into financial planning. You will also support the documentation of Finance-related SAP processes, helping the wider team operate with greater clarity and consistency.
Track and manage product costs across the full lifecycle, maintaining transparency against targets and contributing to the ongoing improvement of the Product Cost Reporting capability
Build, maintain, and refine bottom-up "Should Cost" models for manufacturing components, incorporating raw materials, manufacturing processes, cycle times, and overheads to isolate key cost drivers
Identify cost optimisation opportunities and efficiency improvements through Value Engineering analysis, translating findings into actionable recommendations
Monitor the savings pipeline and financial risk register, producing clear, timely reports on product cost opportunities and risks across engineering, supply chain, and production
Prepare data-driven cost breakdowns and structured fact-based arguments to support the purchasing team in price negotiations with suppliers
Support day-to-day accounting operations including travel expense processing, document filing, and data maintenance in SAP
Assist in the creation of Business Process Documentation and training materials for Finance-related SAP processes, improving team-wide capability and consistency
Are currently enrolled in a degree programme in Finance, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a closely related field
Have a working knowledge of cost accounting principles, including familiarity with concepts such as bill of materials, overhead allocation, or manufacturing cost structures
Communicate complex financial analysis clearly, both in writing and verbally, and can present structured arguments to cross-functional stakeholders
Are comfortable working with large data sets and have strong Excel or Google Sheets skills; experience with SAP or cost modelling tools is a plus
Approach ambiguous problems methodically, with an eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy
Are able to work independently on defined workstreams while collaborating closely with Finance, Procurement, and Engineering teams

Prior exposure to Should Cost methodologies or value engineering frameworks
Experience using SAP (particularly FI/CO modules) in an academic or professional context
Familiarity with supply chain economics or procurement processes
Experience creating process documentation or training materials for financial or ERP systems

We strive to create an open, safe space in which you feel empowered and authentic. FERNRIDE has 50 employees from 10+ countries. Our culture is characterized by the company values and fundamentals:
#wewinasoneteam #weexecuteanddeliver #weareambitiousinnovators #weareopentochange #weputcustomervaluefirst #respect #professionalism #safety.
The Quantum Systems Land Domain is developing leading-edge autonomous UGV technology for defense — a domain where no blueprint exists. The product strategy starts with a UGV that is useful on today’s battlefields and can be built with current technology, then progressively increases the authority of the autonomy system while reducing the need for human supervision — across ever more complex operating environments, up to fully autonomous operation in proximity to civilians.
As a senior cybersecurity expert, you will own and shape product security from the ground up: define the threat landscape, build the security processes, and drive defense-in-depth across the platform. You will work closely with system safety engineers, design assurance, hardware/software engineering teams, and V&V to ensure cybersecurity is embedded across the full product lifecycle. As the product matures, you will grow your domain into a team.
At FERNRIDE, we believe in empowering you to thrive both personally and professionally. Our benefits are thoughtfully designed to support your growth, well-being, and aspirations while fostering a strong sense of work-life harmony. Here’s how we support you:
At FERNRIDE, we believe in a future where robotics unlocks human potential to create a better world. Yet today, humans still perform repetitive, risky tasks to keep our world running. These jobs, essential yet unattractive, should be performed by robots, which still fall short. We are on a mission to change that and transform critical industries through human-centric automation.
FERNRIDE delivers a comprehensive ground autonomy platform to offer scalable automation solutions across industries. They span from container terminals and yard operations via defence logistics to open-road trucking. By combining AI-powered autonomy with human oversight and modular, vehicle-agnostic hardware, we enable businesses and defence organizations to harness the full potential of automation, driving efficiency and safety.
FERNRIDE was founded in 2019 following 10 years of research at the Technical University of Munich and currently has 50 employees. We are setting the standard for autonomous logistics and advancing Europe’s technological sovereignty by delivering the first-ever fully certified autonomous trucking system in Europe in 2025.
