About the Role:

This role combines foundational curiosity with growing technical expertise to resolve complex customer issues involving Backblaze products and 3rd party integrations. The Technical Support Engineer demonstrates initiative, analytical detail, and a commitment to professional communication while taking action on technical issues ranging from individuals and small businesses up to Enterprise customers.

What you'll do:

• Handle and resolve customer issues, driving issues to resolution, and acting as an ambassador of Backblaze and its products.
• Communicate directly with customers via video/phone call for information gathering and troubleshooting needs, utilizing call control and de-escalation skills.
• Manage escalations received from the account administration team and other groups.
• Provide Silent Install Troubleshooting for the Backblaze Backup Client and Silent Installer/Enterprise Deployment Support.
• Troubleshoot a variety of integrations.
• Act as a technical resource to the CSM and other sales teams.
• Conduct detailed investigation of reported "Bugs" to provide Quality Assurance (QA) a detailed report, including QA Data Collection (Error logs, Behavior patterns, OS specifics, Application version).
• Review support tickets for potential trends/issues, focusing on integrations, and providing trend reporting to Leadership/Management.
• Expand and contribute to documentation, including Log and error Confluence KB expansion, and communicating updates to the Technical Writing team for public-facing KB Articles.
• Provide Integration Training to the team via "Get Familiar With" meetings.
• Track issues using task management systems like JIRA.
• Monitor Backblaze infrastructure outages and alerts (Sev-1 through Sev-4).
• Utilize advanced technical knowledge of Backblaze Products (Backup/B2/S3) and network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, HTTPS, Telnet/MTR(ICMP)).
• Implement processes to escalate issues and work cross-functionally with other teams (Operations, SRE, TAMS, Engineering, NetEng).

The Right Fit:

• Experience in customer-facing technical support.
• Foundational Understanding and competency with Linux, MacOS, and Windows operating systems, including text shells (Bash, Terminal, CMD, PowerShell).
• Competence and familiarity with technical concepts involving networking and filesystems.
• Familiarity with task tracking and management systems (ticketing, JIRA, Salesforce).
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and a drive for personal development.
• Experience with API usage and Python familiarity (installation and use).
• Comfortable with AI Agents and Tools to enhance productivity.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience. 

Nice to Have:

• Expertise/Experience with Text Shells (Powershell, Bash, and Terminal).
• Scripting and Automation Experience or Familiarity.

About the Role

We are hiring a Software Engineer to join our Front End Engineering team.

This team builds the core customer-facing web applications and services that power how customers model, manage, and secure organizations in Backblaze. That includes identity and access foundations, cloud storage resource management, and UI/service implementations integrated with a modern role-based access control system that governs access to resources at scale.

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 3–5+ years of experience in BI, analytics engineering, or reporting development

The Senior Analyst, Information Security will be a part of the team responsible for assisting clients and prospects with security and privacy inquiries, managing the daily flow of questionnaires, assessments, and trust related requests, and security and compliance strategy to protect Movable Ink’s platform. You'll work closely with leaders from around the organization to support a strong security posture aimed at protecting our customers' data. This includes ensuring that information security controls are operating effectively and incrementally improved.

Responsibilities:

• Triage, prioritize, and manage incoming client and prospect security requests across email, Zendesk, and other intake channels.
• Investigate and troubleshoot complex issues, perform root-cause analysis, provide advice on risk management strategies, and support the implementation of risk mitigation measures 
• Review various manual processes across the program and find innovative solutions to use automation where possible for process efficiency 
• Coordinate across a variety of teams to gather information and resolve client inquiries
• Perform light TPRM intake and triage, including logging new vendor requests and coordinating basic review steps.
• Support the TPRM process by tracking vendor assessments and maintaining status visibility for stakeholders.
• Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring security practices comply with relevant regulations.
• Stay informed of industry trends, security threats, and regulatory changes, recommending adjustments to access control policies as needed.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in a security analyst focused role
• Foundational knowledge of information security, compliance, and SaaS environments
• Experience working with ticketing platforms and Trust Center platforms (or similar tools)
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to logically think through problem resolution
• Strong communication skills across all levels and departments of the organization

About the Role

The Database Administrator partners with product teams, developers, and the Principal Architect to manage, maintain, and optimize the organization's database environments. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of all databases while driving modernization efforts including migration from legacy platforms such as Microsoft Access to modern database solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Database Management & Maintenance

• Responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data lake architectures to support analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. This includes managing data ingestion pipelines, enforcing data quality and governance standards.
• Manage, monitor, and maintain all databases across the organization including Microsoft Access, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and other platforms
• Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all databases, including ownership, usage, and technology stack
• Perform routine database administration tasks including backups, restores, copying, archiving, and schema updates
• Ensure database availability, integrity, and reliability across all environments

Performance Optimization

• Monitor and tune database performance to ensure optimal response times and resource utilization
• Analyze and optimize queries, with a focus on improving performance in VB-based applications
• Proactively identify and resolve database bottlenecks and performance issues
• Implement indexing strategies, query optimization, and execution plan analysis

Modernization & Migration

• Lead and support the migration of Microsoft Access databases to SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and other modern platforms

• Document legacy database structures and developing migration plans that minimize disruption to operations
• Evaluate and recommend modern database technologies and architectures as appropriate

Developer Collaboration & Best Practices

• Partner with development teams to establish and enforce database query best practices
• Provide hands-on guidance and code review for database interactions within applications
• Create and maintain documentation, standards, and reference guides for database development
• Serve as a technical resource for developers on schema design, stored procedures, and data modeling

Monitoring & Alerting

• Implement and manage database monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively detect and respond to issues
• Define and track key database health metrics including performance, storage, and availability
• Respond to and resolve database incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures
• Maintain audit logs and ensure compliance with data governance and security policies

Security & Compliance

• Manage database access controls, user permissions, and role-based security
• Ensure sensitive data is protected in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements
• Perform regular security assessments and vulnerability reviews of database environments
