Position Overview:
Woolpert is hiring a Survey Instrument Operator to join our dynamic Survey & Geomatics team in Houston, San Antonio, or Austin Texas.
The Survey Instrument Operator is a mid-level position responsible for performing advanced land survey tasks under the supervision of the Survey Crew Chief. This role involves operating sophisticated survey instruments, ensuring data accuracy, and providing technical support to the survey team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of survey principles and practices, strong technical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in computer use for data management and analysis is essential.
Reads maps and construction drawings. Supports Crew Chief by performing job assignments such as field calculations, assisting in boundary monument recovery, brush clearing, topographic surveying, utility inventories, establishment of geodetic control, photo / lidar control, etc. Monitors conditions of equipment and reports repair needs as necessary. Records field data in electronic data collector. Downloads electronic data and logs downloads. Loads and unloads equipment from survey vehicle daily. Maintains survey equipment including electronic total stations, GNSS units, antenna, radios, cables, batteries, modems, tripods, rods, levels, generators, traffic control devices, etc.

Objective
The Operations Lead is a member of the store leadership team and is responsible for driving and coaching to profitability and efficiency. In this position, you will leverage your experience in water utilities and project management to collaborate closely with clients, delivering solutions that enhance their operational efficiency and success. You will utilize your expertise across all components of ArcGIS Enterprise, including ArcGIS Utility Network, to broaden the impact of GIS technology within the water utilities sector. Your understanding of water utilities workflows (operations, asset management, data management, field operations, and customer engagement) will help shape the evolution of our platform by identifying and implementing innovative patterns tailored to the industry's unique challenges.
You will provide strategic solutions and thought leadership, promoting the adoption of Esri technology—particularly ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Utility Network—to enable customer success and support development and expansion into new domains. Working alongside industry experts throughout Esri, you will help utilities modernize their geospatial infrastructure and optimize data management practices.
This team is dedicated to supporting our Utilities clients, with a strong emphasis on water utilities. As a member of a talented, cross-functional team of dynamic and passionate Consultants and Project Managers, you will deliver solutions that empower customers to improve water distribution, sewer and stormwater collection, asset management practices, and service reliability in communities around the world. You will play a key role in delivering GIS as an enterprise technology that enhances the quality, reliability, and accessibility of utility data and geospatial capabilities.
The Professional Services division serves as Esri’s consulting and implementation arm, breaking ground in new markets and pushing the technology envelope, especially within the water utilities domain. Our organization comprises nearly 1,000 skilled business and technical professionals who strive daily to ensure our users achieve measurable success. Your project management experience will be vital in leading complex initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring successful delivery of transformational solutions to high-profile water utility clients.

As the Staff Platform Engineer, Connectivity, you will serve as the technical anchor for major Connectivity projects that enable secure, resilient access between customer OT environments and Simplesense’s cloud-hybrid services. You will define technical strategy across the Connectivity delivery system, architecture patterns, automation workflows, and operational workflows that allow the team to efficiently onboard and support customer environments. In this role, you will partner across engineering development and operations functions to translate product priorities into a cohesive technical plan, align implementation across teams, and raise the engineering bar for quality, standardization, and maintainability.
Work Model: We prioritize candidates in the Denver, CO, San Antonio, TX, and Brooklyn, NY area, but are open to remote talent.
Locals: 2 days/week onsite
Remote: Quarterly travel for team meetings
30 Days: Become familiar with existing Connectivity architectures,workflows, and patterns; build relationships across Connectivity, Platform, Data Insights, and field/operations stakeholders.
60 Days: Gain a clear understanding of the Connectivity architecture; identify opportunities for standardization and automation; contribute to the technical direction of a Connectivity project initiative.
90 Days: Act as the technical owner for a Connectivity initiative project; drive architectural decisions across engineering teams; mentor Senior and Engineer-level teammates through reviews, planning, and technical guidance.
Travel: Ability to travel quarterly for Program Management Reviews and team collaboration.
Clearance Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a DoD NIPR network account and Common Access Card (CAC) Must have, or be able to obtain, a Secret Clearance

• Collaborate with newsroom leadership, production lead, and other producers to ensure editorial consistency and technical quality.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field preferred.

• Excellent communication skills for coordinating within the newsroom and adapting plans in high-pressure, live situations.
• Ability to maintain composure and adaptability during breaking news and high-stakes events.
• Proficiency in news production tools preferred, with a willingness to learn new systems for production coding and show direction.
• Knowledge of vMix, Edius, or similar production platforms is beneficial but not required.
