THE BEST WORK OF YOUR CAREER
Trade Republic is the largest savings platform in Europe — we operate in 18 countries, serving +10 million customers who trust us with over €150B in assets. But we're striving for more.
We have a bold mission to empower everyone to build wealth with easy, safe, and free access to financial systems. You will have the opportunity to grow your career by collaborating with a team of outstanding talents and state of the art technology to build a lasting, positive future for millions.
ABOUT PLATFORM ENGINEERING
Platform Engineering is the backbone of Trade Republic's engineering velocity. Our mission is to build scalable platforms for a Europe-scale bank — serving internal engineers, and building in-house control planes for managing the bank's infrastructure. We’re a ~50-person Platform team focused on one thing: enabling product engineers to move fast and operate autonomously by default.
We build self-service platforms, golden paths, and opinionated tooling so that over 400 engineers can ship with confidence. From Kubernetes fleet management and CI/CD to an internal Developer Hub built on Backstage, our work underpins every trade, savings plan, and card payment that flows through the platform.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Kafka is becoming the central nervous system of Trade Republic — connecting trading, banking, financial crime detection, and more in real time. Today, scaling our Kafka infrastructure to match the pace of the business means too much manual work, too much operational toil, and not enough time building the platform it could be. We are changing that — treating Kafka clusters as fungible shards of a larger resource pool, with a Temporal-backed control plane, Backstage-integrated self-service, and transparent multi-cluster routing that gives product engineers a zero-config experience.
Run Kafka at scale: Own the reliability and uptime of our Kafka fleet — design for high availability across domains and shards, engineer for resilience, and ensure near-zero downtime across maintenance, upgrades, and failure scenarios.
Build the streaming platform: Design and implement the control plane that makes the multi-cluster platform real — cluster lifecycle automation, topic and ACL provisioning, cross-shard replication, and the self-service interfaces that let product engineers onboard without understanding the infrastructure underneath.
Make streaming best practices the default: Define standards for how product engineers produce and consume — topic design, schema management, consumer group patterns, and reliability practices — and embed them into the platform so the right thing is always the easiest thing.
Own the platform end to end: Participate in the on-call rotation, ensuring full ownership of the systems you build and operate.
Own the direction: Shape the roadmap, drive cross-team initiatives, and align the streaming platform with broader engineering and business goals.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
4+ years of experience in streaming, platform engineering, or a related systems discipline.
We are hiring from senior to staff level — whether you are a strong Kafka engineer ready to take on platform ownership, or you have already been leading streaming platform strategy across large engineering organisations, we'd love to hear from you.
Deep, hands-on Kafka expertise: you have run self-hosted Kafka in production and have strong opinions on cluster architecture, scaling, replication, multi-cluster design, performance tuning, and security.
Solid backend engineering background — Go is preferred but any strong language is welcome; familiarity with Kotlin/JVM is a plus as you'll work directly with product teams who rely on it.
A track record of turning streaming best practices into opinionated standards that engineering teams actually adopt.
Cloud-native in your DNA: hands-on with Kubernetes and IaC tooling, running production workloads on AWS or equivalent.
Ability to drive cross-team initiatives and clearly communicate architectural trade-offs to both engineers and leadership.
The ability to work in a flexible hybrid setup, with 2-3 days a week in the office.
WHY YOU SHOULD APPLY NOW
Our culture rewards ownership, excellence, and high energy. We care deeply about outcomes and hold each other accountable — we're here to win and fix one of the largest challenges Europeans face — closing the pension gap and democratising wealth. If this gets you fired up, reach out!
We believe it’s our team’s varied identities and backgrounds that make us sharper and stronger. We’re committed to creating an environment where everyone feels respected and has equal opportunity to thrive in their careers. For any questions on DEI during the interview process, reach out to your recruitment partner.
As our Director of Infrastructure platform, you will be a key driver of Doctolib’s technical transformation. You’ll lead our move from a monolithic architecture to a modular, multi-service environment, enabling both product velocity and operational excellence at scale.
You will own our platform as a product mindset, fostering team autonomy while ensuring cost-efficiency, reliability, and security. Overseeing a team of 30+ engineers (Infrastructure & Automation), your leadership will directly impact the daily experience of 120+ feature teams, +700 engineers, and the care journey of millions of patients and healthcare professionals. This is a rare chance to shape the platform for Europe's healthcare future. You'll work with talented engineers, solve complex distributed systems problems, and make technology decisions that directly improve healthcare for millions.
Why this is an extraordinary challenge
Engineering the foundation for 5x growth: We're transforming Europe's leading healthcare platform - serving 420,000+ HCPs and 90M patients - from monolith to modular architecture. This isn't just technical refactoring; it's enabling Doctolib to scale to new countries, multiple medical specialties, and new product verticals while maintaining mission-critical reliability for millions of care journeys daily.
Velocity as a competitive advantage: Our 2026 ambition is to innovate 50% faster while drastically reducing incidents and driving healthcare professional satisfaction. To get there, we must transform platform capabilities from bottleneck to accelerator - enabling 100+ feature teams to ship independently, safely, and at pace. The business impact is direct: faster innovation cycles translate to better patient access, higher practitioner satisfaction, and competitive differentiation in a rapidly evolving market.
Building true platform-as-a-product: We're pivoting from "platform-as-support" to "platform-as-product" to unlock team autonomy at scale. Your mission is to build the developer platform that makes self-service the path of least resistance - dramatically improving developer experience while reducing platform operational load. This is about creating leverage: every platform improvement multiplies across the entire engineering organization.
Quality transformation under growth pressure: We must simultaneously deliver world-class reliability (99.99% availability) while supporting aggressive expansion - new countries, AI-powered products, and the most comprehensive healthcare platform in Europe. This requires architecting for modularity, security, and cost-efficiency from day one, plus building an industry-leading incident management culture. The stakes are real: every minute of downtime affects thousands of appointments and the continuity of care.
What you'll do
Lead and scale a high-performing infrastructure organization of 30+ engineers across Infrastructure, Automation, SRE, and Database teams, while maintaining strong engagement and fostering a culture of excellence and ownership
Own the infrastructure platform strategy and roadmap that enables Doctolib's modularization journey, delivers on company OKRs, and ensures predictable execution across all infrastructure and automation initiatives
Champion platform-as-a-product by building self-service capabilities (infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD, observability, database management) that transform developer experience and unlock team autonomy across the engineering organization
Be the guardian of quality and reliability by establishing world-class incident management, driving measurable improvements in availability and performance, and ensuring infrastructure components operate at the highest standards of security and resilience.
Accelerate engineering velocity by reducing platform friction, enabling faster modularization, and leveraging AI-augmented development tools to multiply productivity across feature teams
Drive the infrastructure transformation from monolith-supporting infrastructure to a modular, multi-service platform architecture - enabling international expansion, product velocity, and operational excellence at scale
Act as a senior technical leader within the Platform organization and broader Tech leadership team, bringing strong technical opinions and challenging architectural decisions while clearly articulating how infrastructure investments contribute to company strategy and business outcomes
Who you are
12+ years in software engineering, including 6+ years leading large (30+) distributed, international platform or infrastructure teams.
Proven experience driving platform-as-a-product transformations and modularizing large monolithic architectures at scale.
Demonstrated ability to architect, deliver, and operate secure, reliable, and scalable developer platforms in SaaS, multi-product, or regulated environments.
Strong process orientation: experience implementing OKRs, robust monitoring/observability, and best-in-class incident management.
Measurable impact on developer productivity, platform adoption, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
Effective communicator and influencer, with the ability to align and inspire cross-functional stakeholders.
Experience leading change and building high-performing, people-first engineering cultures.
Fluent in English and comfortable in fast-paced, international environments.
Bonus Points If You Have…
Experience in healthcare, regulated, or high-compliance industries.

Our super-duper Engineering Team lies at the core of the value we offer to our customers. We solve complex problems by working not only within our squads, but also by working collaboratively with other teams across the organization. If you are excited by solving complex technical challenges, this is the right place for you!
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for an Architect to set the technical direction and standards across three squads, bridging the gap between Engineering, Data Science, and Infra/Security to ensure our Azure-based services are scalable and reliable, while keeping the developer experience as high as we can. Our services must be easy to build, thoroughly tested, deployed confidently, fully observable so maintenance is not an issue. A key focus will be implementing robust API and event-driven designs that allow our services to seamlessly power our future product and new agentic AI tools.
The architect will champion best practices, mentor engineering teams, and oversee API management solutions that support the organization’s modernization and digital transformation priorities.
The second part of the Architect responsibility will be around the way we want to build agentic AI capabilities at Shift. In the long run, we will need to have a coherent way to develop, configure and maintain our agents or chatbots. The target will be a good balance between speed, flexibility and re-usability, security and budget management, to provide the most value in our products.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You will have a dual mission. On the one hand, you will handle more API-related architecture responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Set the overarching technical direction and standards across three distinct engineering squads.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Bridge the gap between Engineering, Data Science, and Infrastructure/Security teams.
API Management: Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our (internal and external) API management framework, including catalogue, gateway, etc.
Platform Excellence: Ensure Azure-based services are scalable, reliable, and optimized for a high-quality developer experience.
Operational Integrity: Oversee the creation of services that are easy to build, thoroughly tested, confidently deployed, and fully observable.
Architectural Strategy: Implement robust API designs to support future product scaling.
Innovation: Drive the development of infrastructure that seamlessly powers new agentic AI tools and upcoming product features.
On the other hand, you will play an active part on designing the way we want to build agentic AI capabilities at Shift, through:
Standardization of AI Development: Define and implement a coherent framework for developing, configuring, and maintaining AI agents and chatbots across the organization.
Architectural Balance: Design AI systems that strike an optimal balance between development speed, architectural flexibility, and component reusability.
Model Context Protocol (MCP): Help with MCP integration both by exposing MCP for our services, and having our agents calling into third party MCPs
Operational Governance: Establish standards for security and budget management (token usage/compute costs) to ensure AI initiatives remain sustainable and secure.
Product Value Integration: Align agentic capabilities with core product goals to ensure AI features provide maximum tangible value to end-users.
Future-Proofing: Build a scalable foundation for "Shift’s" long-term AI roadmap, moving from experimental bots to robust, maintainable agentic ecosystems.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
In order to be successful in this high-level and deeply strategic position, we are looking for a rare combination of skills..
From a tech perspective, the following list is non-exhaustive:
Must-have:
Azure: Deep expertise in Azure services (AKS, App Service, Functions, Azure SQL/Cosmos DB).
Code: Strong C#/.NET or Python background.
Containerization: Proficient with Docker/Podman and Kubernetes.
API Design: Proven ability to design clean, documented (Open API), and versioned RESTful APIs based on business needs.
API Management: Solid expertise on API Gateways
AI: At least a first solid experience withLLM / Embeddings / Agentic IA frameworks / Agentic coding
IaC: Hands-on experience with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
Expertise: Deep understanding of the Azure Well-Architected Framework pillars.
Nice-to-have:
Local Tools: Good knowledge of Aspire.
MCP: Expertise with the MCP protocol and multi-agent design patterns.
Events: Experience with Azure Service Bus, Event Hub, or Kafka.

We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to join a team of passionate engineers who build premium solutions at scale. Every day, we tackle ambiguous and stimulating challenges.
Join a team of passionate people who build quality and responsible advertising, at scale!
Our main Engineering challenges at Teads
Working in a very high-traffic environment (2.2 billion users per month, 100 billion events per day) with low latency and high availability constraints (2 million requests per second, responses in less than 150 milliseconds).
Rich and diverse tech stack and system architecture to optimize for performance, scalability, resiliency, and cost efficiency. We use mostly Java, Scala, Golang, Python, and TypeScript, among others.
Management of large datasets with milliseconds order of magnitude access time, to compute in a near real-time complex auction resolution algorithm (18 million predictions per second).
Build efficient and easy-to-use web products used by thousands of users working for the world's most premium publishers, advertisers, and agencies.
A fast-changing environment where we continuously collaborate with Product teams and constantly adapt our Cloud infrastructure for new features and Products.
Bring a wide diversity of profiles to the same level of quality and knowledge.
Our Infrastructure Team
Running on major cloud providers (namely AWS, Azure, and GCP) as well as on-premise data centers, we are a growing team intentionally composed of diverse skills sets (development obviously, but also data store, software reliability, operational automation, etc.) which aims at delivering a first-class platform for our product development teams. We embrace Reliability Engineering, toil is our enemy while automation at scale is our main ally.
What will you do?
As part of the Runtime Platform team, you’ll be at the heart of our distributed systems, architecting the backbone of our container orchestration and real-time data streaming. You’ll focus on hardening our Kubernetes clusters and Kafka infrastructure to ensure our microservices dance in harmony. Your mission is to abstract away the complexity of the underlying infrastructure, providing a seamless “paved road” for developers to deploy and scale their applications with confidence. You’ll obsess over low latency, high throughput, and rock-solid resilience. If you enjoy fine-tuning resource limits or optimizing message durability while sharing your expertise with the wider engineering community, you’ll fit right in.
What will you bring to the team?
Your skills and experience:
BS in Software Engineering (or extensive experience equivalent to).
Good programming abilities.
Extensive experience building and running workloads in public clouds (AWS, Azure, or both)
Strong working knowledge of and experience in IaC technologies, like Terraform.

Pride in ownership, initiative and collaboration.
Eager to learn, discover and become proficient in new tools and languages.
Effective communicator; you love to solve problems and are creative in your work.
You embrace change and are enthusiastic to learn in order to bring projects to proper completion.
Bonus points:
Past experience in building, industrializing and running large highly available, high scale and high traffic infrastructure in multiple regions.
Past experience in advertising technology or e-commerce.
We care about you:
Career Development: Continuous investment in our employees’ skills: in-house and external training, internal mobility …
Life Balance: A well-balanced work-life for our employees is one of our top priorities: 22 days off per year, hybrid work (3 days per week in the office)
Wellness: Prioritizing employee well-being through premium work equipment, enjoyable work environment (work-life balance, team building events, summits), remote work subsidy, promoting Diversity & Inclusion with internal & external initiatives, etc.
