This team spends most of its time working on customer focused features that improve the user experience, from content discovery and search to Roku pay and subscription to embedded software and firmware, and much more. Our product roadmap helps us accelerate our growth and scale, putting surprising new features into the hands of tens of millions of Roku users worldwide.

About the role
Roku pioneered streaming to the TV and continues to innovate and lead the industry. While we are well-positioned to help shape the future of television and streaming media worldwide, continued success stems from experienced software engineers like you developing core features for the Roku platform.
Our new Senior Software Engineer, Embedded will be contributing extensively to our embedded UI development, algorithm implementation for complex features to make it more user intuitive and underlying architecture. You will be working closely with product management to understand new features or extending current features for international market needs, development using modern C++ libraries/frameworks, scripting language and integration of third-party code. You will also be engaged in developing tools which can help larger development community within Roku. A proven track record of shipping high-quality software on embedded platforms is essential. What you’ll be doing
- Creating C++ and Embedded Linux and Native Applications
- Developing UI applications using popular frameworks such as JavaScript, BrightScript and similar languages
- Working closely with Cross Functional teams to contribute to our application development
- Developing core features for the Roku OS Application framework
- Investigating, diagnosing and resolving issues
- Writing functional and integration tests
- Designing and shipping high-quality software on the Roku embedded platform
We’re excited if you have
- Extensive experience with C or C++ and Embedded Linux or Native Application Development
- In-depth understanding of Linux, tools, libraries, and open source development
- Experience developing UI applications using popular frameworks such as ReactJS
- Experience with Python, JavaScript, BrightScript, or similar languages
- Proven track record of designing and shipping high-quality software on an embedded platform
- Experience with OpenGL, DirectX, or any other graphics APIs
- Experience writing functional and integration tests
- Good understanding of Core OS concepts like memory management and multi-threading

- Consumer electronics experience building Media/Content and/or Ad product

About the Role
This is a senior software engineering role where you will architect, design, implement and test the run-time and native renderer of Roku's software development kit. You will partner with engineers who build the higher level scripting parts of Roku’s SDK.
Roku prides itself in building software and features which run well on our oldest devices, while taking advantage of our latest ones. To this end, the software development kit will need to be designed and implemented from the get go to run well on devices with extremely limited system resources like RAM, Flash and CPU.
What you’ll be doing

Architect, design, implement and test the run-time and native renderer of Roku's software development kit.

Partner with engineers who build the higher level scripting parts of Roku’s software development kit.

Ensure that we can stand behind all APIs exposed by Roku’s software development kit, and manage the evolution of these APIs.

Ensure that the native development kit performs well on low-cost hardware. To this end you will design for and track RAM consumption, rendering frame rate, etc.

Develop tooling which will allow Roku and 3rd party developers to build great optimized and performant applications to run on the Roku platform.

Navigate through ambiguous problem spaces and meticulously distill out design choices, trade-offs, and priorities.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our New Product Introduction team and help build the next generation of Roku TV devices.

About The Role
As a Senior Security Engineer on the Trust Cloud team, your role involves evaluating, architecting, designing, and implementing end-to-end security controls to impact the global user base. A key focus is on developing automated, scalable security solutions to enhance efficiency and protect Roku. This position requires a broad breadth of security expertise across all disciplines of security, including networking, DevSecOps, security tooling implementation, policy and procedure, risk evaluation, etc.

About the Role
You will be a SME and technical leader in engineering Infrastructure, productivity and enterprise tooling, partnering with globally distributed Engineering, Product and Security teams and systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
Roku is seeking a world class engineer to be a true force multiplier by owning the strategy, architecture, and long-term execution of engineering infrastructure, enterprise tooling, and AI-assisted workflow automation. This architect/strategist role drives org-wide improvements in engineering productivity, delivery throughput, quality, security posture, and cost efficiency by building platforms, working practices and automation (including AI/LLM-enabled capabilities) that scale across geographies and time zones.
Key Responsibilities
AI-First Automation & Intelligent Tooling
- Define and lead an AI-first automation roadmap for Engineering Infrastructure and Enterprise Tooling (e.g., reducing waste, accelerating reviews, improving incident response, increasing release confidence).
- Architect and ship AI/LLM-enabled workflow automation across the SDLC (e.g. risk assessment, automated build, test and deployment, intelligent test selection, change-impact analysis, auto-triage of build/test failures).
- Establish policies and guardrails for AI usage in internal tools: data handling, prompt/response logging, model/provider selection, evaluation, fallback behaviors, and abuse prevention.
Dev Productivity & Enterprise Tooling (Global Scale)
- Set technical direction and standards for the globally used developer tools, including build systems. Source code management, branching/release strategy, and self-service support tools.
- Architect and evolve, CI/CD and build/test pipelines using Jenkins, Docker, and build systems (Bazel /BitBake/Yocto preferred) to support multi-site engineering environments.
- Own and scale test and quality workflows leveraging test management systems (e.g., TestRail or equivalent), enabling consistent traceability, reporting, and release sign-off across distributed teams.
- Drive Jira workflow design and automation (templates, guardrails, integrations) to provide consistent cross-org visibility and execution.
Workflow Automation (Cross-Functional, Cross-Geo)
- Design and implement automation spanning Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Partners (e.g., launch readiness, certification/release checklists, partner onboarding, incident/change workflows).
- Replace manual coordination with durable automation and integrations that work reliably across regions/time zones.
Security, Cost, Performance, and Reliability (Distributed Systems)
- Embed secure-by-default controls into pipelines and tooling (access control, secrets handling, audit trails, policy enforcement), including for AI-enabled systems.
- Improve build/test performance and reliability (build times, test duration, flake reduction, pipeline stability) using measurable KPIs and operational rigor.
- Drive cost efficiencies across tooling/infrastructure (compute utilization, caching strategies, license rationalization including AI/runtime costs and ROI tracking.
- This is a highly visible role and you will report directly to a Vice President of Engineering. This requires a very strong technical leader with experience in the development of consumer electronics devices. The right person for this role will have ability to collaborate well with engineering and partner teams.
- Own cross-team architectures and standards; drive adoption through influence, clear technical judgment, and sustained multi-quarter execution.
- Lead design reviews, mentor senior engineers, and unblock the hardest technical problems across distributed teams and systems.
- Provide long-term stewardship via roadmaps, operational maturity (runbooks/SLOs), and incident/postmortem practices suitable for 24/7 global operations.

Your Impact
The Senior Solutions Architect (Collaboration) provides senior-level Sales Engineering support through the creation of technical solutions that may consist of hardware and software products, professional consulting and engineering services, managed services and staffing.
The essential functions of this position include:
- Meeting with customers to assess business needs and solution requirements
- Explanation of solution architectures via whiteboarding, presentations and client interaction

Position Specifics
The initial base salary range for this position is expected to be between $120,000 and $170,000 annually. The final base salary offered will be determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, depth of experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, our compensation structure may include other components such as commissions and discretionary bonuses.

This role can be based from either our London or Manchester office.
You'll join at a moment when we're moving our retail analytics platform from monthly bundled releases to continuous per-service deployment on Kubernetes. You'll be hands-on with that migration in your first few months and then stay on long-term as a core member of the team that owns and evolves the platform. It's a clear path into senior platform engineering for someone who has shipped production Kubernetes work and wants to grow their craft on a platform used by hundreds of engineers.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the platform primitives that enable service teams to deploy independently, including ArgoCD application manifests, GitOps repository lifecycles, reusable Helm chart templates, and External Secrets Operator configuration.
- Pair with engineers across product and data teams as they onboard onto the new platform, addressing repeated questions at the template layer to prevent recurring issues.
- Contribute to platform design discussions and help shape the paved road that engineers across dunnhumby build on.
- Author and maintain reusable GitLab CI pipeline templates covering build, test, publish, deploy, and post‑deploy stages.
- Work with service teams to migrate pipelines onto the platform standard and retire bespoke per‑service deployment scripts.
- Continuously improve build times, pipeline reliability, and developer feedback loops.
- Respond to platform alerts during working hours, triaging ArgoCD sync failures, secret synchronisation errors, and flaky pipelines.

- Keep migration playbooks, ArgoCD setup guides, and per‑service pipeline documentation accurate and up to date.
- Share learnings with the squad through regular knowledge‑sharing sessions.
What we expect from you:
- Strong professional software or platform engineering experience, shipping code or infrastructure to production within a team environment
- Hands‑on Kubernetes experience on GKE, AKS, or EKS, with confidence using Deployments, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps, Secrets, and RBAC
- Helm experience, including writing or substantially modifying charts, with a solid understanding of values files, templates, hooks, and chart dependencies
- Experience with GitLab CI or a comparable CI tool (e.g. GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, CircleCI), having built or meaningfully modified pipelines rather than just used them
- Production experience with Python or Go, with the ability to discuss real code from professional work
- Confidence working with Linux, Bash, Docker, and standard Unix tooling

- A proven track record of shipping to production in a professional team setting (not solely prototype or personal projects)
- Exposure to ArgoCD, Flux, or another GitOps tool is a strong plus
- Experience with External Secrets Operator, Vault, or similar secret‑sync patterns is beneficial
- Familiarity with Terraform, multi‑cloud environments (GCP and Azure), observability tooling (e.g. New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana), or contract testing with Pact would be valuable

Overview

- Be scrappy to find new sources of audio data and bring it into our ingestion pipeline

The Infrastructure Engineer builds out solutions to support Platform disaster response/crisis management activities in compliance with the Engineering and Customer requirements and helps provide and coordinate disaster preparedness with respect to the organisation’s Platform, helping ensure business continuity.

With your passion to learn about the cloud, you are excited to help advance the Cloud Native management interfaces of an already Cloud Native Database platform. You will be part of the team that helps set the direction and define the interfaces and components necessary to advance what it means to be a cloud native database platform. Your curiosity of the Cloud Native ecosystem will help bring Couchbase to everywhere it can add value. Your ability to represent Couchbase’s interests in Open Source Cloud Native projects, engaging those communities as a knowledgeable expert, will further not only your company’s value, but also the value of that ecosystem. You will also be an advocate for Cloud Native tech to other subject matter experts in Couchbase Engineering. In doing so, you and Couchbase will continue to gather users, deployments and customers in the constantly growing database market.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement Management Features
- Working with a team of subject matter experts and the product managers, implement a set of features integrating Couchbase with Cloud Native tech. Some of these exist already, and some have prototypes. These include Prometheus, Fluentd and Fluent-bit, the Kubernetes Pod Autoscaler, etc.
- Be a bridge to other parts of the Engineering organization where product features interleave and depend upon each other. Keep track of delivery dates for dependent projects; partner with Quality Engineering in organizing interdependent project plans.
Support Across Lifecycle
- Contribute to and write tutorials on integration with Cloud Native ecosystem components such as Fluentd, Prometheus, Open Telemetry.
- Be an advocate to, and support Sales Engineers and Professional Services field organizations in understanding and bringing this tech to end users.
- Facilitate efficient development by the entire team through running development processes, ensuring dependent items are in place, adjusting course as needed to further improve efficiency of producing.
Partner to Product and Engineering
- Work with Product Managers, Architects and Principal Engineers in the definition and development of new features. In particular, become a subject matter expert for the Product Management team on where the opportunities and challenges are in the Cloud Native ecosystem.
- Work across engineering teams, in some cases as a contributor or reviewer on projects and components outside your team, to help adoption of Cloud Native techniques and interfaces.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Motivated, self-learning where needed, and highly productive individual, ready to learn new technologies and become quickly proficient.
- Experience with software development and build automation processes (Jenkins, Github Actions)
- Expertise with Golang, Python, Docker, Kubernetes and the related ecosystems.
- Knowledge of deployment processes in the cloud (Cloud Formation, Terraform, ARM Templates, GCP Cloud Deployment Scripts)
- Experience working with a team distributed across time zones.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrable experience working with Kubernetes
- Desire to automate the boring stuff
- Proficient in one or more programming languages
- Passion for learning new technologies
- Presence on GitHub (or similar)
- Strong Unix/Linux administration skills

The Role
We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Manager who is, first and foremost, a people leader.
In this role, your primary responsibility is the health, performance, and career growth of your engineering team. While you must possess a solid technical background to understand the challenges your team faces, your day-to-day focus will not be hands-on technical work. Instead, you will use your experience to remove blockers, guide decision-making, and ensure your engineers have the environment they need to succeed.
You will act as the bridge between technical execution and business strategy, team budget management, defining roadmaps, and ensuring operational excellence across a complex hybrid (predominantly on-prem and some cloud) estate.
The Team You Will Lead
You will lead the Infrastructure Solutions team within the wider Technical Operations department. Your engineers are responsible for building the environment, delivering projects as requested by Engineering and Product, and ensuring we remain available, scalable, and secure. They are not responsible for the BAU function of the platforms that is managed by another team within Technical Operations. The Infrastructure Solutions team takes a concept or idea and makes that into a reality within the boundaries and constraints of our platforms.
You will be managing a team of engineers who individually possess experience in:
- On-Premise Linux systems, Container solutions, Debian packaging, Ansible, data streaming and queuing technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Advanced database management knowledge (MySQL, Postgres) in replicated environments.
- Physical Network management, with an on-prem estate that is Juniper focused.
- Cloud environments: GCP and AWS
- Platform engineer focused on building, maintaining and supporting an Internal Developer Platform (CI/CD)
The Operational Reality
It is important to be transparent about the environment you are joining. We operate at high velocity with a broad and complex technology estate. However, we are a lean team, not a giant corporation with endless resources.

As the Senior Infrastructure Manager, You Will:
People Leadership & Talent Development
- Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of infrastructure engineers. Conduct weekly 1-2-1s, manage performance reviews, and handle all aspects of people management.

- Ability to own your team's budget and lead capacity planning initiatives. You will forecast future infrastructure needs to ensure we remain scalable while managing spend for subscriptions and hardware.

- Proactively identify operational risks and form contingency plans immediately to ensure business continuity.

- Ability to define, maintain, and cascade operational procedures (SOPs) and ITIL standards.
- Prioritisation
- Shield your team from noise by effectively prioritising workloads (Changes, Problems, and Projects) and managing stakeholder expectations.
Technical Support & Oversight
- Performance Optimisation
- Measure and optimise system performance with a focus on improving reliability and time-to-market. You will drive innovation to get ahead of internal customer needs rather than just reacting to them.
- Visual Documentation
- Ensure the team produces detailed system design documentation, specifically enforcing the inclusion of visual representations to support understanding. Ability to technologically assess it as a technical editor.
- Hybrid Estate Management
- Ability to oversee the management of both On-Premise and Cloud (GCP/AWS), ensuring high availability across all environments.
- Unblocking Issues
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues. Your goal is not to fix the issue yourself, but to coordinate the right resources and provide air cover.
General Duties
On-Call DutiesWillingness to participate in the Management On-Call Rotation to support the department and the business (Current frequency: Once every three weeks).Ad-HocCarry out other strategic or technical duties required to support the Director/VP of Technical Operations.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Leadership & Management Competencies
- Proven Management Experience
- Significant experience leading a technical team, with a specific focus on the people management aspect (performance reviews, career growth etc).
- Project Management
- Strong project management experience with the ability to delegate effectively to meet tight deadlines. You must be able to multitask and maintain focus in a high-priority environment.
- Communication
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to liaise effectively with management and other business areas. Engagement may also include interactions with senior technical engineers/leaders within other teams and C-Team members.
- Goal Oriented
- You must be highly goal-oriented with strict attention to detail, capable of prioritising workload and demand to ensure targets are met.
- ITIL Application / Lean Six Sigma
- Deep knowledge of and experience with ITIL practices, with the ability to apply them to improve team workflows. Demonstrated ability to apply Lean Six Sigma concepts.
Technical Environment & Team Capabilities
Focusing on the technical skills that your engineers possess, it would be ideal if you had a decent working knowledge of each of the areas. Hands-on expertise in every area is not required, but the ability to hold and facilitate discussions, know when to push or hold back and when to ask poignant questions will help you effectively mentor the team and guide architectural decisions.
For reference from above these areas are: on-prem and AWS/GCP solutions; system design from network to application level; resilient database availability strategies; automation and configuration management via Ansible, Docker and CI/CD; programming awareness in Python; Linux administration.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
The following skills or experiences are advantageous but not strictly required. They would be utilised for facilitating tasks rather than for direct, hands-on implementation.
- Innovation & Debt Management
- A keen interest in new technologies and innovation, specifically supporting development teams in the refactoring of technical debt.
- Advanced Containerization
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container ecosystems.
- Observability
- Experience with monitoring systems (e.g., Zabbix, Grafana) and logging stacks (Elasticsearch, Kibana).
- Data Streaming
- Experience with data streaming and queuing technologies, specifically Apache Kafka and Druid.
- Web & Storage
- Knowledge of Nginx (or other web server technologies) and storage technologies like Gluster.
- Tooling
- Proficiency with JIRA and Confluence for project tracking and documentation.
- Version Control
- strong understanding of Git and version control best practices.
