This is not a purely operational support role. We are looking for an experienced technical leader and subject matter expert who can balance hands-on engineering with strategic thinking — someone capable of modernising legacy systems, improving observability and automation, and guiding engineers through increasingly complex distributed environments.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Partnerize, You Will:

Lead Reliability & Operations

Take ownership of platform reliability, availability, and operational performance across a complex hybrid estate supporting Partnerize, BrandVerity, Ascend, and Konnecto.

Drive Platform Modernisation

Help lead the transition from legacy operational models towards modern containerised infrastructure and self-service engineering platforms.

Champion DevOps Enablement

You are an experienced Site Reliability Engineer with:

Deep Technical Expertise

Strong experience operating and supporting distributed systems at scale across Linux, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments.

Platform Engineering Experience

Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.

 As a Senior Python Software Engineer at Partnerize, you will:

• Be responsible for developing systems that process data at near real time for thousands of events per second, operating with data sets in the region of tens of billions of rows.
• Contribute towards mission critical systems for the business, helping us to scale our platform to meet the demands of our clients.
• Work closely with the lead architect to build services that are scalable, fault tolerant, and resilient.
• Write clean, well-tested and refactored code while keeping in mind maintainability and scalability of the system.

You are a seasoned Python software engineer with:

• Have a minimum of 5-7 years of robust professional software development experience, prominently utilising Python as the primary language, within a commercial setting.
• Demonstrate mastery of Python programming, encompassing an extensive understanding of Python libraries and frameworks, coupled with a track record of building distributed systems with a strong emphasis on high concurrency.

We are looking for a Lead SRE who is both a deep technical expert and a capable mentor. In this role, your primary responsibility is ensuring our diverse, hybrid systems remain available, scalable, and secure. You will act as an authoritative Subject Matter Expert (SME), championing developer autonomy, driving IT systems security policies, and working closely with the security compliance team to protect our platforms from threats while driving continuous integration and delivery.This role will report into the SRE and Application Manager providing them with technical guidance and recommendations whilst being the technical lead for the SRE team.

We are looking for a Principal Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE) to take extreme ownership of our critical database infrastructure. Working within our Technical Operations team, you will act as the definitive Subject Matter Expert for our highly available MySQL and PostgreSQL estates, operating with a high degree of autonomy to design, build, and optimise our data tier.

This is a high-impact role where you will predominantly lead the database strategy, bridging the gap between traditional database administration and modern Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). You will architect resilient data systems, automate toil through Infrastructure as Code, manage our event-streaming platforms (Kafka), and empower our wider engineering teams with database best practices. As a Principal DBRE at Partnerize, You Will:

• Own the Data Estate: Serve as the primary architect and technical lead for our highly available, distributed MySQL and PostgreSQL environments.

• Automate Everything: Transition manual database management into code. Build, maintain, and optimize deployment pipelines for infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and Python.

• Architect for Scale: Lead capacity planning, disaster recovery design, and high-availability architecture for both bare-metal and containerized data systems.

• Manage Event Streaming: Oversee and scale our data streaming and queuing technologies (Kafka, RabbitMQ) to support event-driven microservices.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• 8+ years of experience in Senior DBA, DBRE, or deeply data-focused SRE roles managing large-scale, production systems.

• Expert-level relational database knowledge: Deep, hands-on experience designing, scaling, and maintaining HA environments in MySQL and PostgreSQL, including replication, clustering, and backup/restore strategies.

• Infrastructure as Code & Automation: Strong proficiency in Python or Bash scripting, combined with configuration management and IaC tools (Ansible, Terraform, Helm).

• Modern Infrastructure: Solid understanding of deploying and managing services within containerised environments (Kubernetes, Docker) and navigating modern event-driven architectures (Apache Kafka).

• Linux Mastery: Advanced experience configuring, tuning, and monitoring Linux systems in physical data centres and cloud environments.

As the Senior Infrastructure Manager, You Will:

People Leadership & Talent Development

• Team Management
• Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of infrastructure engineers. Conduct weekly 1-2-1s, manage performance reviews, and handle all aspects of people management.

• Unblocking Issues

Technical Environment & Team Capabilities

Focusing on the technical skills that your engineers possess, it would be ideal if you had a decent working knowledge of each of the areas. Hands-on expertise in every area is not required, but the ability to hold and facilitate discussions, know when to push or hold back and when to ask poignant questions will help you effectively mentor the team and guide architectural decisions. 

For reference from above these areas are: on-prem and AWS/GCP solutions; system design from network to application level; resilient database availability strategies; automation and configuration management via Ansible, Docker and CI/CD; programming awareness in Python; Linux administration.
