Key Responsibilities

• Design, Develop, and Maintain Automated Test Suites: Build and execute automated test scripts to cover end-to-end testing for web applications, mobile apps (iOS/Android), and APIs.

About the Role

We're looking for a Principal Product Engineer who pairs deep engineering craft with strong product instincts. You'll work across the stack - mobile, web, backend - wherever the highest-leverage problem happens to live that quarter. You don't wait for a perfectly scoped ticket; you partner with product, design, and data to figure out what's worth building, then ship it end-to-end.

We expect breadth. We also expect real depth in the mobile app ecosystem - our customer-facing experiences live there. But we're not hiring a mobile only specialist. We're hiring a generalist with mobile chops who can lead an iOS architecture review on Tuesday and untangle a backend latency regression on Wednesday. 

This role is open to candidates based within a commutable distance (generally up to 1.5 hours).

What you will do

• Identify, scope, and ship the changes that move business metrics - across mobile, web, services, and data layers
• Architect long-lasting systems that hold up under real production conditions: performance, reliability, scalability, offline behavior, consistency
• Lead technical design reviews across teams, weighing trade-offs not just in code but in product impact, time-to-ship, and operational cost
• Drive operational maturity wherever it's weakest - release management, observability, incident response, performance monitoring - including in the mobile apps

What we’re looking for

• 10+ years of software experience, with significant time still spent hands-on in code - track record of shipping product-impacting work end-to-end, not just owning a layer
• Real depth in the mobile app ecosystem (iOS and/or Android, with strong fluency in Swift and/or Kotlin and the surrounding ecosystem - offline sync, push, auth, persistence, networking, REST/GraphQL) - and credible breadth beyond it
• Demonstrated breadth: you've worked seriously in at least one of {web frontend, backend services, data/infra, platform tooling} alongside mobile, and can hold your own in code review there
• Strong product judgment: you've made calls about what not to build, and can defend them with evidence
• Comfort troubleshooting in production across stacks - crash analysis, latency tracing, release-health debugging
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration; you make the people around you better

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead our Checkout Pod. This team is responsible for the most critical conversion point in our marketplace where a traveler moves from browsing to successfully booking their experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive Velocity & Strategy: Own the end-to-end testing cycle for the Checkout Pod. You will define hypotheses, launch A/B tests, and iterate based on results to drive checkout conversion and post-booking engagement.

• Lead the Roadmap: Create and deliver a comprehensive product roadmap for checkout and post-booking experiences, prioritizing initiatives based on impact and strategic value. You will be responsible for measuring and reporting your pod’s impact to the business.

• Work Across Surfaces: Lead checkout and confirmation flows across web and mobile app platforms (iOS/Android). You understand the unique nuances of different surfaces and how to create a cohesive, high-trust experience across them.

• Navigate Ambiguity: Comfortably operate in situations where technical, regulatory, or business constraints are evolving. You are willing to take bold steps, making data-backed "pivot or persevere" decisions in a high-stakes transactional environment.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across Payments, Fraud, Loyalty, App, and Brand teams. You are able to communicate product performance and vision clearly to senior leadership while advocating for the needs of our travelers.

• Collaborate with your Pod: Act as the product lead for a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, researchers, and data scientists. You are responsible for keeping the work focused on reliability and conversion, high-quality, and moving at speed.

Skills & Experience 

• 5+ years of experience in Product Management, preferably in online marketplaces.

• Proven experience shipping features in transactional or checkout flows across multiple surfaces, including native apps and web.

• A track record of running A/B tests that actually moved the needle on conversion or revenue.

Required:

• 3+ in Windows desktop application development using Windows App SDK, WinUI (or similar), C#, XAML — and ideally additional experience with native Windows code (C++, Win32/WinRT/COM).

The Travel Mode Team

Travel Mode is a startup-style team operating within Tripadvisor. Our mission: Find market fit for a new product geared toward travelers who are in-destination. We move quickly. We embrace AI. We are looking for an ambitious Senior Product Designer who specializes in native (IOS and Android) to join our team, help drive our hypothesis-based roadmap and play a major role in defining the vision for our initial MVP.

What you’ll do

• Define Process: Co-own the end-to-end design process for Travel Mode within our iOS and Android apps, from discovery and abstract problem-solving to high-fidelity final treatments.
• Drive Experimentation: Work within a rapid experimentation culture, leveraging testing and mobile-specific analytics to guide iterative design decisions.
• Define Mobile Strategy: Shape and communicate a clear vision for the MVP, balancing "big-picture" strategic goals with hands-on execution.
• Simplify Complexity: Partner with Product and Engineering to turn complex guidance data, community contributions, and marketplace logistics into simple, "one-tap" mobile solutions.
• Native First: Champion user-centered design and lead the way in defining features and functionality that are uniquely native leveraging haptics, motion, location-services and interaction quality to ensure the app feels premium and responsive.

What you have

• Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and decision-making in day-to-day work.
• Proven ability to operate effectively with a global-first mindset
• Extensive Mobile Expertise: 5+ years of experience shipping native mobile products. You have a deep understanding of platform-specific behaviors and know how to leverage them to create intuitive interfaces.
• Exceptional Design Craft: A portfolio showcasing high-quality, production-ready mobile experiences. You have a passion for the "last 5%" of polish - transitions, feedback, and visual hierarchy.
• Collaborative Leadership: A proven history of partnering with engineers to ship high-performance features, with a solid grasp of technical constraints for native platforms.
• Strategic Communication: Impactful communication skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity, explain the “why” behind your work to stakeholders, and mentor the broader team.
• User-Centric Mindset: A background in using research, data, and "jobs-to-be-done" frameworks to advocate for the user and remove friction from the journey.
• Platform Knowledge: Deep familiarity with iOS and Android conventions, staying up to date with the latest trends and capabilities in the mobile landscape.
