What you’ll do

• Technical Investigation: Act as a technical investigator diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical issues, particularly in pump systems, to prevent costly equipment failures and downtime.

• Operational Efficiency: Assess Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of pump systems daily, focusing on availability, performance, and quality, benchmarking against industry KPIs.

• Failure Analysis: Define and monitor failure modes such as impeller wear and bearing assembly issues, track failure frequency annually, and evaluate root cause analyses to identify reliability trends.

• Predictive Maintenance: Collaborate with the condition monitoring team to assess and validate predictive maintenance tools and strategies, including Life Cycle Costing and condition monitoring.

• Reliability-Centered Maintenance: Apply RCM principles to develop and optimize maintenance strategies for pump systems ensuring long-term reliability.

• Inventory Management: Review and optimize spare parts inventory to ensure critical components are available while minimizing excess stock.

• Performance & Energy Optimization: Support projects aimed at improving pump system reliability and energy efficiency, contributing to sustainability and cost reduction goals.

• Proactive Issue Identification: Identify and mitigate potential issues before they result in pump failures, ensuring continuous system reliability.

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with maintenance teams to foster a unified approach to reliability and share knowledge effectively.

• Training & Knowledge Sharing: Monitor and support training programs designed to build reliability expertise within the maintenance team.

• Cost-Benefit Analysis: Evaluate the ROI and cost-effectiveness of reliability improvement initiatives to ensure impactful investments.

• Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required to collaborate with other sites or teams.

What you’ll bring

Must-haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

• Certified CAT II Vibration Analyst

• Strong foundation in Reliability Engineering principles

• Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving mechanical system failures, especially pump systems

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience with predictive maintenance tools and condition monitoring technologies

• Knowledge of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodologies

• Familiarity with inventory management for critical spare parts

• Previous exposure to mining or heavy industry environments
